  • Good morning, a nice four for me. I was under ten minute miles so I am happy with that! Happy running everyone!
  • Burn 3, Week 2 for me today. And thanks for the reminders of good ole TJ-I got in CP2 today. I forgot how fun that can be! A nice change of pace
  • Fitzfour: I'm not sure about the shoulder pain. I've not experienced that in particular. I did Burn 1 this morning. I like this one! Need to run or do some cardio, but I HAVE to work on packing my classroom, get dd to swim lessons and then work at the pool from 12:30 to 8:00.
  • Thanks for the important reminder and needed encouragement, Kechie! :flowerforyou:
  • Good for you, WW! Try lying on your back and putting your legs up in the air for awhile. Also lots of good stretching and a soak in a COOL bath.
  • Push 3 week one for me yesterday, followed by Burn It Off. I was dripping! I too use a Polar for my HRM and to find calories burned. Very addictive!
  • Sounds remarkably like our Friday nights
  • Just a shout out for Jess, Have a great TRI today! :drinker:
  • Good for you! :drinker:
  • A had a nice run with my 9 year old yesterday morning. Three miles, slow pace= great time with my girl  Came home from working at the local pool at 8:30 pm and did Burn Intervals. Off to do Push 3 and Burn It Off. Then I have to face packing my classroom-:grumble: :noway:
  • I don't do tris, but my guess is when the athletes are going between swimming and biking and then between biking and running.
  • So sorry to hear of your bad experience, Sonia :flowerforyou: Best of luck this weekend, Jess! Ran a nice three with my nine year old yesterday! We just headed out the door, walked a couple of blocks, and then started a nice job. I told her to tell me when she needed a break or wanted to walk-never! I asked several times…
  • Push 2, week one. Lots of shoulders in this one! Have a great day!
  • Easy 5K for me today. I am mildly sore in my arms today. I love that feeling!
  • Nice, easy 5K this morning. Have a great day, everyone!
  • I started the Push phase today-well, I accidently did the warm up and first set of exercises of Lean and then I realized the exercises weren't matching the guide book :noway:  I definitely noticed the difference in the workouts. YAY! I am looking for improvement on my bottom half too. Definite pear shape here. This…
  • Hi all! Sherry and Sonia: I hope you both are on the mend soon! Strength for me today; run tomorrow. I'm at a loss a bit; I rememer being this way after last year's 20K. I focus so much on that training and when it's done, I'm not sure what to do. I think my main goals will be to start working with my daughter (thanks for…
  • Congratulations, Leesh! Wonderful job!!
  • Jess: It was warm but not THAT warm! There were lines at all the potties. I thought I could "outrun" the urge, but no go! I am still so mad. Last year I didn't stop, but I think I overhydrated or something. I thought I read they would post the 10K split times, because I was doing well up to then. Trying to decide if I'll…
  • Alf: A 20K is 12.4 miles, so just short of a half. The relay is a great event. I did a marathon relay style last fall and it was so much fun! Think Amazing Race on a much smaller scale.
  • Shuntae: Kechie's suggestion is a great one. There is also a "program" of sorts called "One Hour Runner." That is what I followed after I completed Couch to 5K. It helped me increase milage. I find I do best when I have a program to follow or an event to plan for.
  • Thanks Christine! I've been beating myself up all day, rather than celebrating the success of actually running a 20K. Best of luck to you in October!
  • Oh, Marla  :noway:  Seriously, though, congratulations! It is great to expand your horizons-literally!
  • HI all. Had my 20K today. Great day for a run, disappointed in my time. 10 minute wait at the potty added to my time. So, my official time was 2:22:05 :grumble: Ready to start Push on Monday
  • My youngest has been asking to run a 5K and after going to packet pick-up with me, she REALLY wants to try. Advice on training with a 9 year old. She has run the mile for school and had a 3:31 on the 800 for presidential testing. I'm just not even sure where to start.
  • Ran my 20K today. I am embarrassed to even post my time after seeing others' times. A potty break killed me: 10 minute wait at the porta-potty! So my official time was 2:22:05 :grumble: I would like my official time to have been 2:12 which would have been a PR. But, I NEEDED the potty. Did too good of a job hydrating…
  • I've had the Polar F4 around 2 years, I think. I just took it to my local jeweler's to replace the battery. I'm not worried about water resistance, as I don't wear it swimming. I've found you have to hold the watch just right to get the time. Otherwise just hit the button on the left side I think it is. It will give you…
  • Thanks for the advice! I want to be sure to properly hydrate, as I know that is something I don't do correctly. The weather is supposed to be beautiful!! I don't tend to drink during the races because I choke and need the bathroom :blushing:
  • I just switched my settings to 50/30/20. I used the P90X as a guide. I'm struggling to get that much protein in. I've done a much better job at eating 5-6 small meals/snacks. I am already finding I have less cravings and it's easier to pass up the chocolate that is out at school   Alf, I wasn't very clear.…
