I'm pretty impressed actually. Your diet seems to be well balanced---hitting most of your macro goals. The fact that you're keeping up with nutrient dense foods is good (skim milk, veggies, and more :) ). I think you're definitely on the right track and in 12 weeks, you should definitely post some pics of your progress.

^^ :)

From one guy to another. I gotta say you look pretty good :p

I get that, I do. I'm just saying, in the whole scheme of things, after eating your dinner or lunch, I'm saying the marginal benefit of that extra bit of meat gets outweighed by the bulk/sweet craving reduction of fruit in my opinion not that you wouldn't have protein during the meal either.
-
Lol. I find it hard not to be decently satiated after consuming 150 calories of fruit for a snack or even following a meal. A whole large grapefruit, 500g of watermelon, the gigantic costco fuji apple, 2 cups of blueberries. The list is endless. Frankly, I'd rather add a bunch of fruit than 3-4 oz of lean protein or only 2…

Certain fruits may cause a higher rise in blood sugar. Watermelon is a great example. Unless you're pre-diabetic, I wouldn't worry about fruits in general. The amount of vitamins and nutrients that you recieve from fruits alone, A, most of B, C, E, and K in addition to insoluble dietary fiber definitely outweighs the "low…

Congrats. Wow, I don't see any loose skin at all!
-
hard to tell, but i would hazard a guess, friendly?
-
Nah, more like 80 cal for an average height male or female.
-
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I really appreciate it as I am new to everything.

Cabbage kimchi mixed with 90% cacao chocolate shavings. Theres something about the bitterness of the cacao flavor mixing with the kimchi that makes it taste even better. Plus, you get a dopamine kick out of both.

Congrats.

I never said anything about GMO. I'm just saying that I believe that human intervention and interaction is what makes processed foods "processed", which is ultimately why I don't understand most people's fascination with "whole-food", "organic", or "all natural"
-
I bring up the same point, we've done things to make these fruits and Heiloom vegetables edible. Would you then consider them to be processed?
-
But think about it, pulling that fruit off the tree. Thousands of years ago, we wouldn't have been able to touch or eat that without dying, but after selective breeding, we have processed it to the extent that we can enjoy it. So would that still be deemed "natural"
-
^^^Hey Hey. Edible spoons are good for the environment

Yup, if you eat celery in its original form. (lol waffles) All that chewing and digesting. The thermic effect of food is usually 10 percent, but celery is so low calorie so you burn more. Same thing with drinking iced water. Its the process of making use of watever you just ingested that gives it the so called "negative"…

Did you actually just say the phrase fruit doesn't have sugar? Wow..... "Sugar" or table sugar in its most common sense is sucrose (a half and half combination of fructose and glucose). Fruits themselves contain purely fructose, a form that has not been processed. Is it still sugar? In its most general sense, yes. So…

Not meaning any offense. Since when did juices of any kind not have any calories? If you throw in 10 stalks of celery, there goes 10 calories. A pound of spinach? another 30. A bunch of carrots? another 40. so about it being nonsense...... There is no such thing as no calories, they might be so small that they are…

Freshly turned 19 this July. Stuck behind a desk at an internship, but I still find time to walk a good 3 miles every day. I'm 5' 9'' and weigh 233, though my starting weight was 253. My GW is a nice even 150 though.

You don't have to give up carbs per se, just replace them with high nutrient equivalents. Eg while whole wheat bread is better than white bread, why not go for sprouted whole grain bread? You'll feel full longer and won't get that blood sugar rush that comes with eating processed carbs. Also, starchy vegetables like…

Frankly no one knows at this point. We aren't even sure if OP has been reading any of this either.
-
Let me guess. You looked at the BMR not the TDEE and used Mifflin-St Jeor instead of the Harris Benedict Formula, which is better suited for obese or overweight people....
-
^^^ !!!!!! Let the think tank continue.
-
True. I was hoping for some high fiber ones as well. Would spinach work well?
-
^^^^I concur. C'mon people, its time for math class.

Actually, while he may not be a doctor, it sounds like he has a certain degree of knowledge whether it be personal research or advice from a medical consultant. What he's said is food for thought---something that might reveal a major condition to the OP that he/she could bring up with a medical professional. While he…

Did you experience much loose skin? I'm only 19 and weigh 238 (originally 253), but I've been overweight since elementary/middle school and really packed on pounds in high school. I'm aiming for 150 as my GW and was wondering whether I should expect to see it after the 70lb mark.
