For a long time, I was skeptical of low carb diets. I didn't think I could ever stick to a low carb lifestyle but after reading over the info Mel mentiomed in her post above, I decided it was time to give it a try. I started keto about a month ago, and have already noticed dramatic differences both with my PCOS symptoms…

There is nothing unhealthy about unsweetened tea, unless they're referring to a small amount of caffeine. Tea has many health benefits - antioxidants for example. The only thing I can think of other than the caffeine that they're talking about may be that they think you're still adding tons of artificial sweetener...

I have PCOS too! I was just diagnosed in June of 2011, but have had symptoms since my teen years. I take metformin and that does seem to help some! Hubby and I are currently TTC #2, but the PCOS is not making it easy... Feel free to add me as a friend, fellow PCOS'ers. It's always nice to have friends who know what you're…

Hi all - Another PCOS sister here. I have had symptoms for YEARS, but was just diagnosed in June. We are currently ttc#2. I'm 26 and need to lose about 90 pounds... Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like. :) Hopefully we can all support eachother, both with our weight loss goals and our struggles with PCOS!

Thanks for the tip! We go through tons of peanut butter in my house!

I am pretty sure that PAM is made to be used as a pan spray - not a food flavoring agent. You might try the olive oil pan spray (it is in most cases just olive oil and propellant without unnatural flavorings) or the I Can't Believe it's Not Butter Spray (carried near butter/margerine in the grocery store) - it's low in…

I have PCOS too and have the same issue with weight gain before periods. It seems to come off rather quickly after TOM is over though.

You've got this! The good thing about this site is that there are tons of supportive people trying to reach a common goal! Feel free to add me if you'd like!

What is baffling to me is that even though my cycles were ridiculously long, I was still having them until I started the Metformin... Before, I was having one every 35-58 days, but the cycles were getting progressively longer even at that point.

I'm on Metformin for my PCOS too. It seems like for me, it's not really doing anything. I've actually gained a little more than half a pound this week even though I'm taking it and working my butt off... Plus, my cycles seem to have completely stopped since I've been taking it (Started May 12 - last period May 14th...) I'm…

Aquaphor? I might have to try that next time I burn. I always have it around for other things. I would have thought it would hold in the heat and make the burn worse because it's like vaseline in texture.
-
I've had more than my share of sunburns, and I know how miserable you must be!! I've found that soaking a tea bag and rubbing it over the burn helps TONS. The tea soothes the burn and helps to keep it from peeling. Maybe I'm just odd, but Aloe never seemed to provide as much relief for me as the tea bags do. You could also…

I agree with the previous comment - PRODUCE! Especially things like watermelon and celery that are mostly water. I've also found that Crystal Light has a Hunger Satisfaction mix that you can pour into a waterbottle. It's not half bad, and only 30 calories.

You're young - it is very possible that it could bounce back without surgery or problems. Young skin has a lot of elasticity. If you were older, you'd have a lot higher chance of the skin not "bouncing back".

Welcome :)

It does sound very low... I've read that it is unsafe to eat less than 1200 calories/day because your body needs at least that much to function properly.

PCOS is the bane of my existance, and I am glad there's a place to vent on here. I was diagnosed back in May (I think I have had it since my teen years, and it causes more problems when I'm heavier...) and started on Metformin. Prior to starting on the Metformin, I was having cycles ranging from 35-48 days. Since I…

Hmm. I've never thought about adding Apple butter to a savory veggie sandwich before, but that does sound like it might be good! Thanks for the tip!
