Try putting some body glide or vaseline on your toes. There are some two layer socks (wright socks) that I think work really well to help prevent blisters, but they are kind of $$.

maybe your doc can prescribe a generic/cheap inhaler. if it only bothers you when you are running the inhaler should last a while. I've found that my exercise induced asthma is worse during winter and during the summer I barely need to use my inhaler. Maybe you will get lucky and only need help seasonally which will also…

Will you have access to off campus restaurants/grocery stores? Do you have access to a fridge/kitchen? I'd try to get some fruit and other easy/healthy snacks to keep in your room and then eat what you can from the free events. If your school is larger, I'm sure they will have something for vegitarians that will be much…

my must haves: spibelt visor sport beans (I found a flavor I like & bought a case on amazon for a really good price) wright socks water resistant headphones (I used to use cheap ones, but they died in the flying pig monsoon of '10) Bodyglide (I really like the liquified powder verson more than the stick) For races I try to…

The only person who has said anything was my dental hygenist. DH has lost much more weight than I have, so most of our friends/family see him and go on about how good he looks and don't really notice my loss. DH was very sweet one night and tried to point out that I had lost weight too, but it didn't really turn out well.…

hi! Joining the message boards is a good place start looking for support. :) When you start adding people to your friends list, seeing their updates and thier comments on your activity is very motivational. It seems like you have a good variety of equipment to use. I've found that making a schedule of what I want to do…

I'm also from ATL & I usually park in the back b/c ppl park like morons and I don't want my car to get dinged up! Some stores might have a side parking lot where you can still park farther from the door, but you won't have to cross any lanes to get to the front door. I've seen people at the gym park in the fire lane to run…

I also took this test and I was told to my rmr was 1532 so they don't always just give someone a low number. I increased my daily goal after the test and I have not gained any weight. The treadmill part of the test is to measure the VO2 max. This was actually more helpful to me because it gave me heart rate zones for…

I've kind of experimented with it but not with a rigid schedule. I will eat at/below my goal for a few days so that I can splurg a little if I go out to eat on the weekend. It seems to be working ok for me, I am avg -2.2lb/week over the last 8 weeks.

I found a recipe for Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes with Maple Frosting a while ago and I've avoided making them because I'm afraid I wont be able to stop at one. /drool.

Yea.. I didn't even want to get into it about the driver. Drunk drivers make me so angry and I think that what he did was absolutly unforgiveable. He did actually spend some time in jail though (6 months maybe?) and the mom did not have to go to jail. I think he should be required to lose his license forever and perform…

I wasn't going to reply to this thread, but it's been nagging at me. It might not have made any difference if she was in the crosswalk or not. It might not have made any difference if the driver was sober either. I think most drivers would have a hard time avoiding a child that darts out into their lane on a busy highway…

short answer= yes. long answer = My mom has always made me feel bad about my weight & now she critisizes my running/walking speed since I started doing half marathons. Last summer I did a 1/2 where it was brutally hot/sunny with no breeze and at the finish poured water over my head to cool down. When I sent my mom a…

Hi! I just turned 30 and I have about 65lbs to lose. No kids, one cat, & two dogs (currently).
