Do this for yourself and your baby girl. She needs you to be alive and healthy for her in the future. I just lost my younger brother b/c he didn't take care of himself. He was a single dad and his 11 year old son is absolutely devastated. Try cutting down on sugar and carbs and eat veggies, fruit and lean meats (chicken,…

Love this!

Just do it! Whatever IT is. You will feel so much better after you do! I never feel like going to the gym after working all day, but I am ALWAYS glad I did after my workout. Best of luck on your journey!!

That is no small NSV! Congrats. Each time we resist we get stronger!

Add me. Looking for accountability and support and happy to give the same!

Hi. Feel free to add me as a pal...

MFP forums are not a good place to ask about cleanses, detoxes, intermittent fasting, etc. Lots of haters out there on this subject. I'm about your age and I have done this and love it. Still go back to it occasionally if I start eating more unhealthy foods. I will send you a friend request and if you accept, I will let…

Good for you!! Add me. I'm 55 and on the journey, too. It's for my health and well-being and hopefully will ensure a better quality of life going forward.

You're seldom going to feel like working out BEFORE exercise, if you work long hours and have other pressing responsibilities. The motivation comes with the sense of accomplishment and well being AFTER your workout. Just push through and do it and the determination for the next time will follow. Trying to get a little more…

That is freaking awesome and inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I have friends and family members confined to wheelchairs that I will share your ideas with. I will now say to myself and everyone else who can walk around with two good legs (or prostheses), what's your excuse for not working out? Kudos to you!!

That is SO much to be excited about and proud of! Congrats!! Inspiring to me, too. I have about 30 more lbs to lose. Need to get back to running again!! Thanks for sharing!!

I replied to myself... disregard. lol

I live in Illinois across the Mississippi from St. Louis.

Thanks! Sounds great!!

Awesome! I'm jealous but inspired to do it, too. I think I have gained 20 lbs back since earlier this year. Great job!

Junk food meaning sweets, like cookies, cake, ice cream, donuts, etc. and savory junk food like chips, crackers, fast food, etc.? I'm up for the challenge. I need to break my addiction - can't eat just one of most sweets, chips, etc.... I, too, think it would help to commit to a period of abstinence.

I love the 5:2 diet. And, yes, the first day is the worst. I've been on it for a few weeks and now I actually feel MUCH better on the mornings after my low-cal days - more rested, no headaches (which are typical for me), more energy, and a feeling of success. Sometimes I go up to 700 cal on my fast days, especially on hard…

Great idea about planning just meals to your calorie limit and then exercising to "earn" calories. That will change it up a bit! I'm going to try that.

Count me in. 53 and trying to lose another 30 lbs or more. Exercising regularly and trying to control my eating at least 6 out of 7 days per week. To lose weight, it seems that I have to do a lot better for a lot longer than I used to when I was younger:( But we can do this! Not giving up. Accountability is a great thing!

Hi. I just started low-carb and would love to be friends. I would love to be able to share food diaries, as well, so you can give me some constructive criticism and I can maybe get ideas for good low-carb choices. I don't want to get bored. Please add me as a friend for Atkins/low-carb eating plan. Have a good day!

I'm from the St. Louis area. Welcome to MFP! It's a great way to keep you accountable. I, too, love my food too much! It's an ongoing journey, a battle at times, but it helps to record what you eat and stay in contact with people who are trying to exercise and eat right. You can friend me on MFP if you like.

It actually helps me to weigh every day. I think it depends on the person. When I'm not weighing every day, I'm usually in denial and getting out of control (which is how I've been off-and-on for the past few months:(). If the number on the scale goes up, then it motivates and challenges me to keep weighing until it goes…

Add me as a friend. I love to give encouragement and sometimes I need it myself. Great job on your weight loss so far! I've lost about 50 lbs over the past 5 years. The past year I've gained back around 10 lbs, which I want to stop and continue to my goal of losing an additional 20-25. We can all encourage each other. MFP…

You can add me as a friend. I'm 52 and female so around the same age. It's a journey to stay young and improve our health.

St. Louis, Missouri area (Illinois side of the Mississippi River). Anyone else from the St. Louis area?

Stay the course!! Staying the same weight is still success! You inspire me just b/c you're bumming about not losing something this week. Do a little cardio to push off the "down" feeling and burn a few more calories. "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." Great job! Keep it up and you'll get through another hurdle.

Nothing tastes as good as skinny/healthy feels!!! Nothing tastes as good as skinny/healthy feels!!! Nothing tastes as good as skinny/healthy feels!!!!

Welcome! This is a great site to log in the food you eat and your exercise each day. Accountability helps a lot. And motivation to get healthier is a good incentive. Feel free to chat if you need encouragement or have any encouraging news to report. Today is the first day of the rest of our lives!! Can't go back, so need…
