I'll rephrase... [Massive upper body and twig legs.] Works upper body and skips legs consistently Lift 3 reps of a ridiculous weight with the worst form known to man. [Complain about never being able to gain muscle and eat once per day.] - Complains about never being able to gain muscle and eats about 1200 calories a day.…

I think I've figured out my definitive answer to the "a pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of lead" statement... If you had a feather sculpted out of lead in one hand and a feather in the other, which would weigh more?

Does your 20 minutes include warmup and cooldown? I'd take a good 5 minutes minimum to warm up (especially if you're doing it in the morning from sleep!) and another 3 or 4 minutes to cooldown. That only leaves 11 or 12 minutes? For weight training, that sounds like 3 sets of one movement. That can't be right for an…

This picture: http://potentialization.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/fatmuscle.jpg They'll weigh the same but the pound of fat will take up more space (volume) because it's less dense than muscle. So you could say for the same volume of either, the muscle weighs more. So a cup of muscle would weigh more than a cup of…

Yep. It's all one muscle with different portions. The 6 pack that you see is just the muscle being split by tendons that run across and up the muscle, pulling it in. But then the deltoid (shoulder muscle) has 3 heads and you have to hit all 3 using different angles to get equal growth, or you can end up with a flat looking…

Yep. Do it! It's a good solid grounding in exercise. I started out doing 30DS maybe 6 months ago from doing zero exercise. Completed that and went on to P90x which I completed in December. Now I'm working out heavy in the gym on my own program. Each stage helped me figure out what kind of exercise I like and what works…

This! Try this out to see how out you are. Pour a portion of cornflakes out and add milk. Then next to it, weigh 30g of cornflakes and measure 125ml of milk. The second bowl contains a recommended portion with the nutrition info detailed on the side of the box. Most people are massively surprised at the difference between…

I don't think anyone's said it yet so I'll throw it out there... Don't get sucked in by the 'I'm gaining muscle' thing... Gaining muscle is damn hard. It requires intense weight lifting and a calorie surplus, and even then it's bloody hard to gain 2 or 3 pounds a month. Nobody accidentally gains muscle and it's virtually…

Thanks man. Yep, Creatine and BCAA's - natch. And of course well planned pre & post workout nutrition.

Or if I go for the closest macro split that would work on MFP's infernal 5% increments: Protein - 35% = 306g (1.88g per pound bodyweight) Fats - 25% = 97g Carbs - 40% = 350g Any good?

Depends on how in depth you'd like to go with lifting and muscle recovery... Whey is one of the fastest digesting proteins there is, so it's useful for flooding the muscles with amino's immediately after a heavy training session. One shake of the whey I use has 40g of protein and the whole lot will be metabolised within 30…

OMG! Your scorpion pose is pretty damn AWESOME! How's your side crane and your (dare I say it) 8 angled pose? ;) Congrats on the goal. Well done, you look great!

It's Christmas day here in the UK. 12:39am. Nearly 4 months ago - August 28th - I emailed myself the 'six pack by Xmas day challenge'. Just an email to keep at the bottom of my inbox as a reminder. Pretty much just a title and a vague outline of how I intended to get a visible six pack. Have I got a six pack now, Christmas…

Cheat days don't work for you... Me personally, I can happily have a free day and have no trouble getting back on the wagon. I also don't have any problem cutting myself some slack 'because it's Saturday' without going mental and eating a massive bucket of KFC or whatever. Also, I'd say that stipulating "I will never eat a…

Get enough protein in generally, but also don't forget that your body needs carbs after a heavy lifting session. You have to replenish your glycogen stores as they're depleted by heavy resistance work. Try throwing a scoop of dextrose or maltodextrin in your post workout recovery shake (you do have a recovery shake right?)…

You are wearing a dress and it is WAY too big for you ;)

Not bad... I think I'm gonna be pretty much there :) I haven't done a core workout in over 2 weeks. This last week I've been having a post P90x break and the week before was of course recovery week so no Ab RIpper. I've dropped another 6 lb the last 3 weeks or so in an effort to shred bodyfat as much as possible to get the…

Damn huff! That's a helluva Astavakrasana there! Kudos! Good job on all the other achievements too :) Jay

Here's my Bakasana (Crane Pose). Knees could be higher up the arms but... Meh... Here's my sketchy attempt at Parsva Bakasana (Side Crane Pose). I'm happy enough with it for a first effort. I can manage to hold it for about 4 seconds ;) Jay

Conversations with God was pretty awesome. Whether or not you believe the premise, it still has some pretty good answers to some fundamental questions. Fiction novels that changed my life (as in I was never really the same after I'd read them): The Mars Trilogy - Kim Stanley Robinson The Peculiar Memories of Thomas Penman…

Not read that one but I read '5 people you meet in heaven' which I think is by the same author... Good read.
