Toilet. I can flush a toilet beforehand (urinal's flush automatically at random intervals in the UK). Would you rather find ten million in cash or find true love?

Ice! It's hard. Forrest Gump vs Charlie Babbit from Rainman?
-
Chocolate. Would you rather have fish fingers for fingers, or mince pies for eyes?

Burrito all the way. A polar bear vs a monkey with a flick knife?
-
Bronson for sure! Bruce Lee vs Jet Li?

Homeless. Would you rather permanently stink or have no hands?
-
Brain freeze. Would you rather swim in a pool of blood for an hour or hang upside down for 8 hours?

I love to throw in smith squats pretty regularly. I find if I'm plateauing at a weight on free squat, doing smith squats for 2 or 3 weeks and increasing weight there can help me break through and lift more on free. Jay

I get Matrix Anabolic. £42 including delivery for a 5kg tub - about 100 servings. 178 calories and 40g protein per serving. That's 80% protein!

Food is made of macro nutrients and micro nutrients. Food is fuel for the body. Food is resource. Food is calories. Food is matter placed into your body which has different effects on your body depending on what it contains. Once you understand fully the effect that any given food has on your body from ingestion through to…

I think the more accurate (for me anyway) is 'if it fits my macro's'. I believe there's actually a whole school of thought around the IIFYM way of eating. I don't restrict anything from my diet.. I just wouldn't get very much KFC for my daily macro's if I started there, so I'd be pretty hungry that day. You learn which…

I started my first real bulk after Xmas when I was somewhere in the high single digits of bodyfat. Ran it through to march and have been cutting for 3 weeks.ready for my wedding in 5 weeks time. To be honest, I was pretty impressed with how little fat I put on! Yeah, I got a bit of a gut on me, but the couple of pounds of…

I'm weighing about 165 at the minute and I bench about that for 3 sets of 3-5. Jay

Without getting too technical, maltodextrin is a starchy polysaccharide which is absorbed as quickly as glucose. Although it's technically a complex carb, it is good for spiking insulin for rapid uptake of nutrients. So if you throw it in with your whey, it helps manouvre the proteins and creatine around the body. Good for…

I'm getting married 6 weeks on Saturday. I started this journey exactly 1 year before the big day (April 28th 2011) at 192lb with the intention of losing about 20 lb through eating well. It went a bit better than expected and I lost 32lb and called it final goal weight at 160 on August 23rd. Still wasn't happy though as I…

Oh, and it's pretty good value too! 5kg (about 110 servings) for under £40! Oh, and it's pretty good value too! 5kg (about 110 servings) for under £40!

Have a look for Matrix Anabolic, that's the one I use. 50g serving gives 40g protein. Quite low carb and reasonably low fat. When I'm bulking, I stick my creatine, L-Leucine and Maltodextrin in it. The maltodextrin really adds calories and is good for shuttling the protein and creatine around quickly. For even more…

To be fair... 2 plates a side on bench is a no small amount of weight! I manage 155lb or so for like 4-6 reps. My training partner's a fairly big guy who's been training for years and he tops out at 225 for about 5 reps. So yeah... I'd say you're pretty strong by the standards I see in my gym - and my gym is a solid…

Yeah, sometimes. But I know what I can eat for the next day to the bite anyway and anything else just ain't food ;)

I got to week 4 of that program and then repeated week 3 and 4 a couple of times... More of a mental block that stopped me getting to week 5 I think. At the time, I was doing P90x at the same time. I think I was maxing out somewhere near 50 consecutive. Could probably manage about 35 now I reckon. Jay

Sounds pretty good Joe. I like the 'Insanity but do-able' tag, considering insanity actually scares me a bit.... I did the full 90 of P90x, but insanity looks like truly ridiculous levels of intensity!

Grey and lighter grey... Sounds boring but they're actually quite nice ;)

I'm rocking a periodization program at the minute. 4 weeks linear, 4 non-linear and 4 undulating. Good results so far! Now I'm not saying I wanna be as big as Jay Cutler... I know there's a limit to natural bodybuilding.. But yeah, I pretty much wanna be considerably bigger than 90% of guys on the street... Jay

Jaybone is actually my best buddy's nickname from back in school like 19 years ago. We lost touch for a bunch of years and about 96/97 I started using it as my internet username on everything. It's surprising how many actual friends I have who I met on the tinterweb first and who knew me as Jay long before they knew my…

Just gonna throw this out there... There's no such thing as 'toning'. You're either building muscle, losing muscle or maintaining muscle. Total gimmick. Jay

Don't forget that celery is negative calories, so eat the chocolate with celery and you can cancel it out. Clearly. Oh, and dump him, his evil plan to make you obese overnight with his tempting wares is clearly the Mark of a psychopath. ;)

Funny thing is, the gym I go to is a proper sweaty bodybuilders gym and 95% of the guys in there are the prototypical intimidatingly huge guys. Hell, I was pretty intimidated when I first went (which isn't actually that long ago), but seriously, if you're committed to lifting some heavy (for you) weight, there's nothing…

+1 for this thread! All I can add is for you ladies not to be afraid of coming over to the boys side of the gym. It might look intimidating but the big guys in the freeweights section are usually a pretty friendly bunch when it comes to training. If you go over and stand in the squat rack curling 5lb dumbells for 10 sets…

In the game of numbers, calories in vs calories out rules everything so if you're in a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight. You can lose weight eating nothing but chocolate, you just wouldn't get much of it before you hit your daily calorie ceiling because chocolate is pretty calorie dense. It would probably bring about…

I eat the Maximuscle Cyclone ones. 216 cals, 24g protein, 18g carbs, 5g creatine, and some glutamine for glycogen recovery. I quite like them but a lot of people say they taste bad so... More for folk valueing the content over the taste I guess. For homemade ones, I make these:…
