  • You can buy unroasted coffee beans in the store. Roasting them does not make them into a weight loss thing. Just because this extract is in the Starbucks low cal drinks doesn't mean it does anything.
  • I doubt they would do anything different than you drinking a cup or two of coffee. Most of what Dr. Oz speaks about he is paid to do so and to push those pills.... 99.9% of what he talks about and pushes on his show is crap.
  • I don't think there's anything wrong with it as long as your getting in your water and the other things your body needs. I drink it all the time and have never had increased cravings for other things. Everyone is different. A good friend of mine has drank diet coke most of her life and is very thin. The various ingredients…
  • Healthy, fresh, foods and tons of water. The detoxes they sell in the stores are worthless in my opinion. Some do more harm than good.
  • There are variations to this plan. Personally I wouldn't do anything Dr. Oz says. If you stick to your calories you'll lose weight. Throw in a higher calorie day every now and again is something a lot of people on here have suggested to avoid a plateau and keep your body guessing.
  • I agree with those saying there's a lot of sodium. Subway is FILLED with sodium. Their sauces, cheese, meats, etc. Healthier fast food but still not the greatest. The healthy choice meals are also loaded with sodium. Anything processed, frozen etc is. Maybe try cooking more? If you are eating the proper amount of calories…
  • I believe some others have mentioned it but go out and get yourself a beginners cook book. Rachel Ray has a ton of cookbooks for 30 minute meals. Get a crockpot if you don't have one already and search some crockpot recipes. You throw all the ingredients in before you leave for the day, set it and when you get home dinner…
  • First off, you should be eating more than what you are. The amount of calories you mentioned are very low. Do you eat your exercise calories back? You don't have to starve yourself to lose weight. Change won't happen quickly :( Give it some time. Have fun with it. Change up your exercise and foods you eat. Make sure you…

  • You can maintain your weight eating more than 500 cals a day. You won't be able to add any muscle at all at that caloric intake and soon (if it hasn't already) your body will begin to eat away at your muscle. I would slowly increase your daily calories so you don't gain weight. Than you can start to focus on strength and…
  • Sorry but it might be a good idea to look into a new studio for your dance. This one is not healthy at all.
  • You need to eat to gain muscle. Your calorie goal is 500 a day ... even adding in some extra protein you wont' gain muscle on that. You are pretty much starving yourself. Eat more healthy foods. More food, more calories, and more protein will help you build muscle along with strength training.
  • I drink them daily. There isn't enough sodium in them to concern me. Sure, artificial sweeteners may not be the greatest things in the world for you but they haven't been proven to actually hurt weight loss. Asparatame in part is also from proteins (sorry, can't think of the scientific information behind it). Unless you…
  • Always make sure you net your calorie goal. When you exercise you eat more. On your rest days you just eat your 1550. You only have about 15lbs to go so it will come off very slow. That's healthy though. Just keep plugging away. You may at some point need to change up your exercise routine. There are tons of exercise DVDs…
  • I agree! I wouldn't call a naturopath a Doctor... but that's just me. Even natural things are harmful for people. I'm still not sure how they gave the injections. If Doctors can't get them naturopaths shouldn't be able to either.
  • I have tried the Body by Vi shakes. Decent tastes but I would prefer to eat real food instead of a shake. If you are ok just drinking for a meal or two a day give it a shot! A lot of people have been successful on either of the plans however it's because it gives you a calorie deficit. You can do the same thing with…
  • Nice work!!!
  • Ah ok!! Smart idea to break up your weight loss goals!! If you have 75lbs plus to lose 2lbs per week should work perfectly for you! However, you may not always lose 2lbs per week (might lose more, might lose less). How much are you eating in a day? Getting your macros covered? You are right about the exercise calories.…
  • Drink as much as you can! Any little bit of extra helps. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you're good throughout the day than splurge a bit tonight for your annivarsary! It only happens once a year so as long as tonight doesn't lead to bad food choices tomorrow enjoy yourself! Log it, count it as a spike day or cheat…
  • How much do you have to lose? Unless you have over 75lbs to lose you shouldn't have your loss goal set at 2lbs per week. 1lb per week is a bit better. 1,200 calories is usually far too low for most people... MFP would of set you at that because it is the lowest the site will go and you put in a high weight loss goal. I'd…
  • It may be something in your diet. Not eating enough... eating too much... not measuring foods... not counting your HR properly... too high estimates for exercise calories earned... not eating exercise calories... etc. Can you open your diary ... it may help us help you a bit more. By your ticker you only have 25lbs to…
  • The Fruit Flush diet is pretty much just clean eating with everything removed - and it is only a diet of 900-1000 calories... definately not enough to sustain anyone and provide proper nutrients. You drink a protein shake followed by a piece of fruit every two hours and than raw veggies and a small piece of protein for…

  • Sorry and I should add... read the fine print on the boxes. All say "with reduced calorie diet and exercise" along with the weight loss results.. usually only a few pounds difference over the same period of time.
  • I agree with psulemon. If diet pills actually worked we'd all be thin! They may work short term but when you stop taking them you will most likely gain all your weight back. Most diet pills are full of chemicals that can harm your body... even all natural diet pills can be harmful.
  • It will most likely not be a problem as long as your sugars and fats come from healthy sources. Protein is usually a low goal on MFP so I wouldn't worry about that one. If you are getting your sugars from healthy, fresh foods (fruits for example are high in them) than you will be ok as long as you don't have a medical…
  • Yes, if you eat too little you can hold onto weight. Eating less doesn't always mean higher losses. Your body needs a minimum amount of calories to sustain itself. The smaller you are the less deficit you can maintain.
  • Lots of water, lean protein and fresh fruits and veggies. Your body will do the work for you without taking chemicals and pills that can be harmful.

  • I log it on my weight in day regardless of whether it's a loss or gain. First number on the scale. Weight loss is not linear and you won't always go down. If it's a loss I log, if it's a gain I log. Looking back I don't want to think I lost every week when I know I didn't.
  • Appetite suppressants won't make you lose those ten pounds. They may help you not feel as hungry however once you go off of them you will most likely be hungrier and you can't take them forever. Fill up on protein and fibre which help curb hunger. Drink a lot of water. The last ten pounds are the hardest to get off... what…
  • It's very frustrating! Are you eating your exercise calories back? If not, try eating some back (not all unless you have a good quality HRM as the amounts here and on other websites tend to be high). By what you mentioned of your meals you are eating a lot of processed foods and A LOT of sodium! Frozen and processed foods…
