Thanks for sharing, very inspiring and it just shows that weight loss does not have to be rushed. Sometimes we all expect too much too soon, but as long as we see some results each month along with some re-education of our bad habits along the way we will get to our goals in the end, which is what I think your results…

Thanks for sharing your before and after pictures. I totally agree that other peoples success does give hope to everyone else to keep on going. Success breeds success if you choose to let it. Heres to a happy and healthy 2012 for everyone both just starting and those of us in progress. Regards Paul

Hi, I am from Sunny England too !!! Welcome to this great place. Make good use of the food and exercise diary and you will acheive your goals. Just set a realistic target, accept there will be ups and downs, but in the end you can succeed. I was way overweight for 20 + years, but can honestly say the food and exercise…

I would say the food diary has been my saviour. Even when I don't log now, I have got into a good routine of eating sensibly at regular intervals. I can understand your feelings at the outset, it does take a lot of work, but after a month when you have built up a regular list of food and meals, all the hard work is done.…

Impressive, and a great motivation to everyone. Regards Paul

You can do this. You have made the first important step of making a goal and understanding what you need to achieve on a week by week basis. It is easy to go into weight loss without realising how long it is going to take. You have sat down and worked it out which is important. You know its not going to be a quick job and…

It was other peoples success that drove me to mine. My thought was if they can do it so can I. You will do it too if that us what you really want. It is hard work getting there, but if you pace yourself and accept it's not going to happen overnight you will ultimately get there. I have found the hardest part is maintaining…

A great acheivement, you will be so glad you have lost your weight in the future. A real inspiration to many, anything is possible when you really want it. Regards Paul

I owe a lot of my weight loss to finding " Weight Watchers Book of Recipies ", it had a lot of my favourites in there in a lower calorie form. Good luck on finding a book that suits your taste. Regards Paul

I called into Tesco yesterday morning and was pleased to see that they had calorie information against all their items on the breakfast menu, it made my choice of egg on toast so easy, and definately put me off adding a sausage at 295 calories. If only all food retailers made it that easy it would help when eating out. Can…

I vary it between the following:- Scrambled eggs on toast Peanut butter on toast Shredded Wheat Porridge Morn Flakes All with a cup of coffee and a glass of Prune Juice Regards Paul

You are right, I could have asked, but shop assistants are under enough pressure in dealing with queues at the best of times, and I am certainly not going to add to that pressure due to a lack of their employers due dilligence in providing a simple piece of information at the point of sale. I disagree with your view that…

I agree with you. I owe the motivation in getting started in my weight loss journey to the inspiration given to me by those who I had read about. It gave me great hope that I could lose weight after being overweight for best part of my life after reading about other peoples success. I filled my head with motivational…

Impressive willpowere, especially when you had the food on the plate in front. If we had all done that a few times more, we wouldn't be here !!! With that attitude, and the help of this place which is great, you will get to your goal. Regards Paul

What a great inspiration you are, Paul

Fantastic story, its always good to see great success as a source of inspiration. You have inspired me to kick myself well and truly back into action, as I have stumbled over the past two years. Regards Paul

I do believe, even if you are motivated to go to the gym, a personal trainer probably will push you that little bit harder in the early days when maybe more motivation is needed. The problem is being able to afford one, personally I couldn't justify it. However, I do use the Wi fit and bought the " The Biggest Loser "…

Thanks everyone for sharing your tips , they are all very motivational. I think the common theme is that we all realise dumping our old bad habits, and replacing them with new healthy ones is the secret of long term success for us all. We are all going to get set backs now and again, but our new habits will get engrained…

Three weeks into the challenge, and all is going well - 5.8 lbs down overall , so very pleased with progress so far. I have entered my results into my signature. Since the challenge I have stuck to my additional challenges of no alcohol or chocolate until Christmas - its hard, but the results are worth it. I have also made…

A great effort by you Bikinimission, I am already feeling very motivated being part of this challenge. I am definately staying away from the chocolate, not just this week but all the way through, no alcohol either ( to me when a challenge is set its a waste of filling food calories ), and I am filling out my food log…

Definately health reasons - I want to live to see my children have children, and enjoy some retirement after working hard all my life. Being unfit is not something I want to go back to, I realised I missed out on so much fun activities over the years when I was obese. Paul
