How long have you been working out and monitoring what you eat? How many pounds are you hoping to lose? I've lost 25 lbs. in the past four months and am pretty much at my goal weight. I do both cardio and Jillian Michaels workouts (30DS and Ripped in 30), and I've gotten to the point where everything has pretty much lost…

I have chocolate most days, but definitely in moderation. Here's what I usually go for: Trader Joe's 72% cacao bar (1/4 of it) = 70 calories 2 Hershey's kissees = 45 calories See's lollipop = 80 calories

Just thinking the same thing!

There's just something about nice workout clothes--enjoy them!

Sounds deeelish!

Yes, yes, YES--do the 30 DS! Fantastic at-home workout. Make sure to get some handweights (probably start with 3 lbs., but at some point you'll probably want to move up to 5 lbs.). Another great video for cardio is Michelle Dozois's Peak 10 Cardio Intervals. Pretty tough, so you'll definitely get a great burn. Each circuit…

I keep hearing great things about Lauren Brooks. Her volume 1 kettlebell DVD is going to be my next workout DVD purchase (it's in my Amazon wish list!).

I should also add, your lunch calories seem a little low. I would definitely overdo my afternoon snack if I only had 300 cals for lunch. I try to get between 350 and 400 at lunch, then have a 120 cal Greek yogurt around 3 P.M. That gets me to dinner pretty easily.

I did better by exercising in the evening. If I worked up a big hunger (which happens to me when I burn over 350 calories), I wouldn't know because I went to bed :)

I love Michelle Dozois Peak 10 Cardio Interval Burn--it kicks my butt every time! For step aerobics I also adore Gay Gasper's Cardio Infused Step.
-
I'm on Week 3 of Ripped in 30 right now--it's a killer! I've done 30 Day Shred, too, and Week 3 of RI30 is definitely the hardest it's been thus far.

Weigh pasta BEFORE it's cooked (2 oz. is a serving, which makes about 1 cup of cooked pasta), and weight meats AFTER they are cooked.
-
Forgot to add--the workouts are only 20 mins., so it's easy to fit them in.

Definitely try the Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred workout DVD for toning. People can't believe how much my abs and arms have changed. I've seen a huge difference in my legs, too. You'll need 3 lb. hand weights to start, but the DVD is under $10.

We just had this the other night: INGREDIENTS - 3 chicken breasts - 16 oz. tub of salsa - 1 can of corn, drained - 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed DIRECTIONS - put corn, beans, and 1/2 cup of the salsa in the bottom of a crock pot - place chicken on top - pour rest of salsa over chicken - cook on low for 7-8 hours…

I keep them in a folder on my laptop, and I also print them out to go into sheet protectors in a binder that I keep in the kitchen. One day I want to be able to give copies to my girls when they move out on their own. If it's a recipe I see when I'm out, I'll either take a photo with my phone and type it up later, or I'll…

Hey there. I work a huge number of hours a week and have two school-age daughters at home. I thought I would never be able to fit in enough exercise to make it worth it, but doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred workout video (just 20 mins!) and keeping to 1,200-1,300 calories a day resulted in a weight-loss of 6 lbs. in a…

I tried the Blue Diamond vanilla almond milk in my coffee to save calories over 1% cow's milk, but I wasn't a fan. Since then I've been using Silk original-flavor light soy milk in my coffee, and I definitely that.

Welcome to the journey! Stay committed, and you'll see terrific results!

Also, if you're stressing your muscles with new exercise, you're actually developing microscopic little tears in them. Your muscles will then retain fluid in order to heal themselves, so that fluid is probably why your scale isn't moving downward (I gained four lbs. my first week of working out). You should be rid of that…

I would mix it up. I do Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred or Ripped in 30 plus ten or twenty minutes of Michelle Dozois's Peak 10 Cardio Intervals. Altogether it's a great workout that is pretty time efficient.

Apparently

I WAS exercising at 4:30 P.M., but then my husband complained that it woke him up, and now I'm going to have to become an evening exerciser whether I like it or not. I'm a teacher and also have my own business, so all of that paperwork will have to shift to my old early-morning work-out time slot. I think it'll be okay,…

OP here. I found a use for some of the cheese scraps today: CHEESE SAUCE FOR NACHOS OR MAC & CHEESE (from allrecipes.com) 4 tablespoons butter 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 cups milk 10 oz. colby jack cheese 1 teaspoons salt *This recipe can easily be halved* In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir…

Bump - eight-year-old daughter who is totally exercise averse but loves starches and sugars; not a good combo, obviously

I found this to be true for me, too, when I burned over 500 calories in my early-morning workout. I would just be ravenous the whole day and go over my allotted calories. I've experimented and found that a burn of 250-350 doesn't make me any more hungry than usual, and I can come in under my allotted calories for the day.…

BUMP -- gonna need to refer back to this when I raid my girls' haul tomorrow night

Hi, Kaylyn! Welcome to the journey! I'm happy to offer support--feel free to add me :)

I lost 6 lbs. doing it, but the toning was what was really impressive. My arms have a ton more definition now, and my quads aren't too bad either.
