That is definately a good way to look at it!! That's pretty much what I do. I go to classes every Sun, Mon & Wed no matter what I feel like. Than if I have time (in the summer I played ball instead on Tues & Fri) I would go and do just a reg work out in between classes. Just plug into my iPod and get into my own little…

Find some classes that you might enjoy, makes the time go by so much quicker and you don't even notice the others around you cause you are focusing on the instructor. PLUS I look at it like it's a "Free" personal trainer, only it's you and some others rather than one on one.

Do most of your aerobic exercise before your weights program if you do both in the same session. Complete your weights session, cool down then immediately concentrate on recovery, repair and rebuilding rather than additional exercise. Consider separate sessions for cardio and weights on different days. This is a popular…

Sounds like a good season coming up!! Thanks for the info everyone!!

Congrats on the 1 year smoke free...I have about a month to go until my 1 year! It feels so rewarding doesn't it!? I look at smokers and wonder now how I did that for so long and how controlling it is?!! It totally consumes a person and dictates everything they are going to do. MFP is a great site, now that summer is here…
-
Totally agree with you on this one!! What would you have for dinner without one of those key ingredients? lol
-
I've been smoke free for 10 months now, the first month or so will be the hardest, if you can make it through that you will be fine!! I found the best way for me was to change my existing habits and to give up some of my other addictions (seems crazy....but you need to). I gave up caffeine shortly before I quit smoking, so…

I've been in a slump these days, it seems next to impossible to get to my goal. Finding myself slipping back into my old ways lately. TIME TO BUCKLE DOWN!! Thanks for the encouragement to get the week started off in the right direction!

Thanks everyone for the words of support! Time to get my butt in gear, only 3 weeks until I hit the beach for vacay, doubt I'll be where I want to be, but hopefully a little closer!

Pilates Intermediate is listed, I have it in my excercise log.

I'm thinking I need to start doing mine again, I've been sitting steady at the same weight since beginning of April :grumble: I was never really sure if it was the dvd or just a combo of everything - now that summer is here I find myself falling off the wagon. I've been so diligent all winter long, but there are so many…

crunches combined with cardio. Pilates (if you go to a gym that offers this) is really good for core strengthening as well....I go to a Pilates class once a week and have seen a huge difference! Mine is slowly starting to come around....my abs are rock hard, but still have a little flub to get rid of so they can be seen.

Make sure you are getting enough fibre & protein in your diet, watch the fat content and try not to eat about 2hrs prior to bed. Make sure you are getting a minimum of 1,200 cal/day - try reducing your goal to 1lb per week (if you are set at 2) this will allow you to eat a little more which sometime your body thinks you…
-
Meal replacements are OK, but your body needs the real deal too, not just liquid. That why they say to eat protein, cause not only does it help the growth of lean muscle (which burns fat) but it is also harder to digest and makes your body work that much harder (metabolism). If your body is never breaking down real food…

Protein is good for the growth of lean muscle...I'm usually over by 20-30 daily, especially if I have my protein shake after a work out.
-
Downside is your body thinking that you are starving it and than it will stop burning fat and start storing it instead. I find as soon as I start eating breakfast it really kick starts me, I can barely wait for lunch to come around and I bring a couple healthy snacks to munch on inbetween meals. Keep eating the same way…

WHOA....tell her not to over do it...I mean 2 crackers a week...that's a little overboard!! hahaha LMAO!!
-
MFP most definately!!!! On an 800 cal/day diet your body will just going into starvation mode eventually. Your body needs fat and carbs, just in moderation. MFP is good for that because it shows you how much. Yes, it might not be the quick way - but it is the more permanent & healthy way!! You didn't gain weight overnight,…

Strawberry Orange Smoothie (with or without banana) 1 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk 1/3 cup calcium enriched orange juice 2 cups frozen berries (strawberries are best tasting) 1 banana (if you choose) Makes about 4 servings (or 2 really tall servings) You could probably add whey protein in substitue of the banana to thicken it…

Welcome to the beginning of your new life!!

Don't go into panic mode yet, there are weeks where I don't lose anything but some how if I count back from the day I started to now it works out almost dead on the amount of weight lost compared to the amount of weeks I've been using MFP. (26lbs lost over a 26 week period) But there are spans for like a month where I…

Listen to your body and don't over do it...I was just sick with the flu last week as well, I think I managed to hit the gym once between last Sunday and this Sunday. Once you get back into the swing of things the weight will come right back off, sometimes a break like that is a good trick to see the numbers keep dropping…

During both of my pregnancies I got pretty nasty stretch marks on my stomach, Baby #1 all under my belly button and Baby #2 all above my belly button (I thank my children each day...lol j/k) The scars are pretty faded, but now that I'm getting my pre-baby body back with all the weight loss my stomach is starting to look…

That is AWESOME!! I'm sure you are happy to be in the 200's again.....!! Keep up the motivation, the results are definately worth all the hard work.:drinker:

Thanks - I like to think I'm getting pretty toned, my husband is fit - but a skinny guy (6'2" @ 162 lbs) and my arms are about as big as his - not sure if that's good or bad...LOL Still trying to get rid of that mummy tummy and the flub on the thighs, but I can definately feel the muscle under the flub.

100% dedication to logging all my calories (even if you cheat a little)....working out 3-5 days a week. I take a strenth training class once a week, go to Pilates 1-2 times a week and Step class twice a week. And making sure I eat most if not all of my exercise calories. It definately didn't come off overnight, it's been 7…

sometimes you see more change in your measurements than you do in your actual weight, you could be turning that fat into muscle, so the weight won't reflect the changes you may be feeling!! It's crazy to know that I've lost 6.5 inches just in my hips, that's over half a foot!!! Makes you realize how much you've lost that's…

So I've just weighed in this morning and am happy to say I am down to 145 lbs. Also took measurements. CHEST (start): 40.5" (now): 37" WAIST (start): 36" (now): 32" HIPS (start): 43" (now): 36.5" Just thought I'd share that with everyone, a total of 14" lost so far!! Woohoo!!
