Apparently I don't know how to quote...

Way to go, Emma!

Checking in: I'm doing pretty well! I have had some poor choices and binges because this was a stressful week, but I've been talking myself through all of it instead of ignoring it. In the past I would just stuff my face and not think about why, or I would just plain think, "I'm mad." I do a little more self-analysis, and…

Welcome! And don't feel bad about being realistic! If you hit this full boar and do too much too soon, you'll end up quitting anyways. I think you've got a great approach :)

Since I'm hoping I can still join, I'll post, too. My name is Katie, and I'm 32. I live in central MN. I'm married to Shawn, who is currently deployed for the second time. Hopefully he will be back around next July, which would be one year, but his last deployment was only supposed to be one year and it got extended to 22…

I want to join, too. I've never been in a group on here & really want to! Can someone message me with the details?

People like all of you are exactly why I love MFP! I really do appreciate the helpful advice from everyone!
-
Thanks so much ladies! It made sense to just add the 500 cals, but with the internet sometimes saying I would need 3,000 calories a day, I was quite confused. 3,000 is a LOT!

Way to go, you look amazing!!!

Hey Shannon- At the running store on South Broadway, (can't remember the name... The Running Room? Maybe) they have a stick that looks like deoderant bars. It's called Body Glide, and you apply it anywhere that chafes. I LOVE this stuff. It is so great. Sometimes when I'm running, my arms will rub on my shirt sleeves below…

Hey Karen! I'll let you in on a secret- when I stick with MFP, I lose weight. When I stray from MFP because I don't have time for it, I gain. That's all you need to know, lol! Good luck :D

I know you're shocked, but I'm excited for you! I don't know if you have any other children, but if not, I will tell you to relax and enjoy the ride! I'm beating a dead horse, but prenatal care should be your first priority. As long as you are eating appropriately now, I don't think you should worry too much about your…

I've heard that Creatine is really bad for your kidneys, but I'm no expert. Do you know if it's approved by the FDA?

Sometimes the biggest obstacle for me is simply getting started. If I can talk myself into taking a leisurely stroll, then the hardest part is over with. Once I'm in my work-out clothes, I somehow feel a little "fitter". Then, as I'm walking outside, the fresh air will give me a little pep in my step. I MUST always have my…

I'm so proud of you, Amy! You're pictures are such an awesome inspiration- what a difference! And thanks for posting the before pics too; I know that's embarrassing, but it really lets us see the difference, which is a major encouragement!

I totally got into trouble last night for commenting on your pic about you being a hottie!
-
Hottie! I agree- don't ever put a shirt on again!
-
Your hips have changed SO MUCH! You've changed everywhere, of course, but I am floored by your hips! Great job!!!
-
Oh no!!! Oh, husbands.

I just gained 5 lbs. over night due to TOM. I think the others gave great advice though- drinking tons of water really helps you release it when TOM is done, plus water helps me so much with cramps. Wait until next week before you get too anxious :)
-
The second link brought me to my pic, too. BUT- the first link worked, and you have made an amazing transformation! Congrats!

I found e-Harmony too restrictive as well. Then I went on to Match.com. I was simply looking for a blind date because I had never been on one before. After I had my mediocre blind date, I was satisfied, and went to cancel Match. It did take a few months, which was frustrating, but in the meantime started chatting with a…

Any multi-vitamin I take makes me super queasy. I can't stand it. Finally, I found what works for me. I take half of the pill in the morning, and half at night. It's different for everybody- you should get some helpful posts on here :)

I'm game! I log in here every day, several times a day. You just tell me what kind of motivation/accountability you need, and I'll be here :) Katie

At first I was really sad to see the discussion get out of hand. I have been on MFP for over two weeks and have seen nothing but encouragement and positivity, so it crushed me to see people "fighting". Matty, when you apologized and explained yourself, that was really heartening. Kudos to you, and thanks for doing that. I…

Oh, but I have to say, if I force myself to drink lots of water, my cramps are much less severe.
-
All I can offer is sympathy. I really struggle during that time, too! :(
-
I'm proud of you for making this tough decision. I have struggled with the same issues. I think you're doing the right things by recognizing the cycles and situations that lead to the drinking and smoking. Also, like someone else said- good for you for putting this out there! It's hard to admit these kinds of things. Now…

I agree with everyone else, I can gain two pounds in a day EASY! I also tend to get frustrated when I'm slowly losing weight on my morning weigh ins, and then suddenly (even though I've been doing so well with exercise and diet) I will gain a pound or two back. I've come to realize that it simply happens. I don't know why.…

I have only lost a pound in the twelve or so days that I've been on here, so I was pretty discouraged. However, I took my measurements for the heck of it, and I've lost an inch off my waist! Just goes to show that the scale can't tell you everything, and you shouldn't get wrapped up in a number. Hope everyone has had a…
