You know, I've tried that. I drink and then I'm like..........ok, now what? It isn't filling to me at all. Is it supposed to be?

Having to bag my own groceries. People going into a parking lot at the exit. People who make their own parking spaces. When the weatherman is wrong even with having the super duper doppler early warning detection system.

Remember water, water, water. Fruit (apples, bananas, peaches, grapes), veggies (celery, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes), peanut butter, bread, tortilla wraps, healthy cereals, granola bars, tuna (non-electric can opener), nuts. Oh and if you are feeling stressed............dark chocolate! Be safe - I live in the Northeast…

Just walk in the door. See if they offer an orientation. My gym, planet fitness, offers classes and orientations to learn certain machines - upper body, lower body, abs, etc. Good way to learn the machines and your way around the gym. I, too, was intimidated to go to the gym. When I first walked into the gym and for the…

I affectionately refer to them as my musical knees. Honestly, I've have been putting fresh ginger slices in my tea and it works as an anti-inflammatory. I have to say, it has really helped me.

That is awesome. I am/was a diabetic and I know for a fact that you can do it! Weight loss is the answer!

I have a great turkey chili recipe that you can make in no time and it makes a lot. Offer some grated cheese or my daughter will put it in a taco shell or tortilla.

Eggplant parmesan. Chicken parmesan. Large Salad. I make a huge pasta dish but it is with little pasta, sausage and fresh veggies. Very simple and healthy.

You look great!!! I think sometimes it takes a while for your head to catch up to what has happened to your body. My daughter lost some weight, not as much as you, and we can definitely see it and she can't. Others compliment her and I'm sure you get quite a few too! I told my daughter to post a sticky on her wall each…

I kept one pair of my 4X pants and donated some and consigned most. I used the money I received from consigning to treat myself to new sizes along the weight loss journey to motivate myself. I confess, though, I have kept some of my baggy tops and a few stretchy pants and wear them for working out, against my daughters…

My daughter told me I was her thinspiration!!! Priceless.

I just had this salad for lunch: Romaine Cucumber Tomato Green Pepper Vidalia Onion Olives Black Beans Sunflower Seeds Grilled Chicken Breast Cubed Cabot 75% Reduced Fat Cheese Maple Grove Farm Fat Free Caesar dressing (2 tbsp. 10 cal) Yummy!!

I also despise plain water. I brew a huge batch of tea, I like Celestial Seasonings True Blueberry, and I add slices of fresh ginger. I make a big batch that says cold in the fridge during the week.

Congratulations!!! A very respectable time, I might add. There's no stopping you now!

Welcome aboard!

You are right! Salt is sneaky but you can do it. Make your own salad dressing. If you have alot of salads, make your own croutons - I do and they are delicious! I would never go back. Check it out - I've lost over 100 lbs. and have gone from taking insulin 4x a day to none at all and I don't take diabetic meds anymore. My…

Taking a quick peek at your food diary have you thought about cutting back on salt? I know it's really hard to do. When I started this journey I gave up diet soda, alcohol, and limited salt and sugar (diabetic also). It may help. The less processed food the better to reduce salt. I've learned that the hard way. Maybe…

1. Not having to wear pantyhose under my pants to suck me in. 2. Being able to sit in a booth at a restaurant. 3. Not having my pants wear out at the inner thigh from my thighs running together.

My very first concert was Bobby Sherman at a local theatre in Connecticut. I was with my mom and I was a teenager. After that, my first "big girl" concert was David Bowie.

I like the arc trainer at the gym - I mix the interval intensity and that really seems to burn the most calories for me. Second would be the elliptical - I try a different program each day and up the intensity.

Search the Cinnamon mug bread in this forum. It uses flaxseed meal. It takes no time at all in the microwave. I have been having that every morning and diabetic friendly too! I just recently started adding sesame seeds and blueberries.

You have all the tools already - I say motivate yourself and buy yourself some spiffy new sneakers, strap on the heart rate monitor, hop on the bike or go to the gym. We are very frugal and look in the paper at different fitness programs. We have been able to try a zumba class, a bootcamp and a spinning class all because…

Ooohhh ... that's sounds good! Where can I find that?-

Another thought to add to my previous post: **Have her make the recipes posted on this forum. Encourage her love for cooking/baking and see if she will see the benefits.

My daughter is 15 and I think what helped her is that we do it together. We eat keep a food diary and we joined the gym together and we go almost every day. Once we walk into the gym, we kind of head to different machines but at the end we always say, So how did you do today? I'm going to paste two posts I've made that may…
