I don't know about food, but using your brain in an engaging task daily, especially tasks involving creativity or problem solving, can let you keep away dementia and build practice with memory. :)

You'd be shocked at how much good food is thrown out due to health codes and business policies on a daily basis, even in small towns. In an ideal world dumpster diving would not be necessary, because we would not throw away food that is at all good for eating when there's people starving in the same city...

Yeah you can lose weight by not exercising, I used to. Twas a huge mistake. Gained it all back because my metabolism sucked. Looked awful and flabby and clothes fit worse than before I lost weight. NO ONE is too busy to work out. Literally no one. I have two jobs (well over part time put together) and am full time doing…

Hating yourself and binging are two separate problems. They interact, but you have to love yourself and respect your body in order to stop both. :) Your mindset about food just has to change, and you need to have the right reasons for losing weight. Distraction is the key to ending binges, but if you tie your body weight…

I have so many hobbies/jobs/activities I have little time to snack outside of meals. That works for me. ^_^ Stay busy!

Good for you starting an account! This will not be easy, but it will not be as hard as you think, and you CAN do this. Honestly I wouldn't even recommend going out doors and exercising yet. You need to talk to your doctor about that first. Start small and cut your calories to the recommended number mfp gives, or as close…

There is definitely such a thing as build, and it's in your genetics. :) Some people can be the same weight and body fat percentage and have it look drastically different on them. A good indicator is your wrist circumference and how you look/feel at each weight. For example, I have the tiniest wrists in the world and look…

Thanks everyone! She's ruled out Zoloft and other drugs for other medical and/or psychological issues and med incompatibility, so I've had more than one doctor tell me this is the drug they'd most recommend. I'll see if I can get it through my insurance, if I decide to go for it. I might as well try since it's helped so…

This sums it up. Thread closed most everyone agrees lol.

10+ friends from childhood is good, you're set for life. I would definitely recommend you stop seeking friendships. Especially with women.

It is interesting, but we are also more aware of medical issues in the past years. We haven't actually been eating wheat in the quantities we do today for thousands of years though. Food was much different even hundreds of years ago. Not too long ago doctors chalked most food sensitivities up to "poor health" and didn't…

I see your point, but I don't think that most people in this thread assume what you've said. Many if not most guys in life who are nice are actually just nice! But ones who complain on the internet about not getting girls they were friends with, especially if they only became friends to pursue a romantic relationship,…

Sadly I can certainly imagine that if you live many places in the US your viewpoints are indeed common. I like giving people new perspectives though, especially when the current social perspectives on male-female friendships are downright sexist and deny women any social power outside of sexual relations with men. So my…

By what he typed it sounds like only the girls he isn't physically attracted to always throw themselves at him. ;) Dude, you need to stop flattering yourself. The problem isn't with women, it's with how you view them. They're people. You're people. Most won't want to date you, but by not being friends with women you're…

You get a gold star for typing the most sexist thing I've read today. There are plenty of interesting girls, just as many as there are interesting guys. If you can't hold interesting conversations with any females, there's something wrong with your socialization skills. I hate the gender binary in our society, just because…

Thank you. :) I am super worried about side effects since I'm sensitive to a lot of things so that's good to hear. I'd like to hear more experiences too.
-
I'm 21 for a few more months! Then you'll have to delete me but add me til then! Joking, I understand, closer age groups have similar life goals and experiences. :D
-
I currently fit into both a 1 and a 9 from different shops, they fit about the same. That's how horrific our clothing sizing is in the US. It's sad, and makes shopping take more time.

Awh I'm sorry. I have experience with similar issues of lacking energy due to health problems. Honestly though, even though the doctor says exercise is okay, I'd listen to your body. If you feel better after exercising then push yourself and do it because it will make you happier, but if you feel ill afterwards then don't…

Being a girl's good friend does not guarantee you a relationship (or, rather what most guys who use this "friendzone" term want, sex.) Girls are people. Most people will not want a sexual relationship with everyone they meet. Romantic and sexual relationships happen when there's a mutual attraction in that way. If it's not…

Limiting your man selection by excluding anyone short really does leave you with a much worse chance of finding a good guy for you, statistically. I'm 5'8, my boyfriend's 5'6. We look adorable. Oh and a guy's height doesn't always correlate to foot size. Just throwing that out there.

I prefer desserts to deserts. Arid dry regions make me thirsty and overheated. As far as desserts go I have them after every meal. 50 calories of dark chocolate here and there are what keep me going.

The apathetic way with which most people in america ignore issues of social justice. It's not okay to pretend the struggles of misrepresented groups are gone just because it's 2014. :grumble: They continue in our society.
-
This isn't about looks it's about being female and being taken seriously a person.
-
What do you mean by this?
-
I guess it's just because women have to deal with being talked about as practically objects in society, looks mean too much and they shouldn't. You are used to only seeing women airbrushed in ads and movies, but men are allowed more flaws. It's frustrating hearing girls judged more harshly than guys. I always hear guys say…

Not saying you should date someone you have no physical attraction to, but you'll regret making a decision based upon looks. If your relationship is built upon looks it will fall once you both get old (it happens fast.) The best chemistry I've had in a relationship is with a guy who most people would say is barely average,…

Because people will drink whether they have an excuse or not, but an excuse makes it more socially acceptable. Friend pulls out a flask in the library while studying --> gets judged. Friends pull out flasks after our engineering final --> not judged. :drinker:

I'm not mad you're "shooting for 7.5", I'm saying you've been fooled by thinking you can put a number on looks. Don't look for women by their body and face if you want to find someone good, it's like picking a movie by the picture on the cover, not the words on the back or the reviews.
-
At least 7.5? Really, you can't quantify attractiveness with a number like that after the age of 14 and think it's okay. To me, boring/mean/stupid people seem ugly, and the most attractive people are those who make something of their life, it shows up in their eyes and personality. Looks don't last dude. People get…
