You don't win friends with salad.

If you're eating 1200 then exercising you should probably eat back most of those exercise calories. 1200 is the net goal, so if you're not eating them back that's probably why you're hungry.

Can you make your exercise diary public? Maybe we can help figure out where the numbers are coming from.

There's some really inspiring stories here! Here's me, before is about a year and a half ago (5'9", btw). Before (around 335-340) This is about a month ago (around 215, I'm 209 right now):

Um, yes? Yes.

Phentermine makes most people jittery, but even if it doesn't then you will quickly gain a tolerance to it and it won't be effective anymore. Whatever you lose while taking it you'll gain back when you stop, and it can cause heart problems. Adapex I dunno anything about :)

Ha yah it can take such a long time. My doctor asked my weight last week and I went "334" without even thinking, even though I haven't been that for over a year.

My gym no longer looks like Black Friday so a bunch of people have already taken off. Last year it stayed full until March (then tapered off immediately after "spring break). Can't say I'm sad, though. It's not that I actively root for someone to fail at their resolution, but it's nice to have a little breathing room…

This x 1000. You need 1200 just to be able to think straight and for your body to get enough to keep your organs functioning, it's really dangerous to run that much of a deficit every day.

They have a "bistro salad" that has edamame and kale that's the bomb. I take out their dressing and add my own.

Entire face!

Honestly, if the ingredients in diet soda are why you're trying to cut it out, Mio's not much better. Look at the ingredients: Water, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Malic Acid, Contains Less than 2% of Natural Flavor, Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium (Sweeteners), Potassium Citrate, Red 40, Blue 1, Potassium Sorbate…

Awesome, good luck! I did my first obstacle run last year, it was a 10k and it took everything I had, but finishing was SUCH a high. This year I am determined to finish Tough Mudder in November. I'm gonna do the Warrior Dash in June, hopefully that'll help me get there. Way to go, you can do it!

I make a turkey bacon "pizza" on sprouted grain bread. Toast the bread, throw on 1 tbsp tomato paste, some basil, onion if I have any, spinach, a ripped up slice of turkey bacon (that I microwaved for 30 seconds), and .5 oz fresh mozzarella. Throw it under the boiler for ~6 minutes. I have had 2 of those every morning for…

This, this, a thousand times this. When it comes to weight loss, it doesn't matter very much if you keep your boat afloat for 3 days if you capsize it for the 2 after that. And that's what binging does, it picks you up and puts you right back where you started. Not even talking necessarily about the numbers of weight…

Awesome, thanks for the link! I may have to try that, I've been wanting to try some green smoothies (my CSA has left me under piles of spinach and kale right now so I think I'm throwing it into everything.)

I agree with the others, I wonder what's in it. Just looking at the nutrition facts in the MFP database though it looks like empty carbs. Maybe try mixing some unflavored protein powder with it so it's not completely empty? Edited to add that Weight Watchers stuff tends to be highly processed, they smack a big "3…

There's some really good advice here. Sloooooow down. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to get the message from your stomach that it's full (cruel, right?), so if you power through without thinking you can easily go from famished to bursting. Take a moment, maybe put down your fork between bites, have a conversation, that…

I can't speak to the actual video, but I can tell you that at least on the juice questions, if blood sugar is an issue for you stay away from juice concentrates. Honestly, I think everyone would be wise to stay away from bottled, manufactured juice full stop, but I'm trying to be understanding :P Like n0ob said, the raw…

This is my go-to salad, I love the steamed lentils you can pick up at Trader Joes because you can just dump em in and go, but I'm trying to be better about just making my own. The little seaweed bits add some crunch, and if I don't use the dressing then I make my own with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and some mustard.…

That's my thing, the hormones. I buy from local dairies that don't use hormones, I believe one of the farms is organic and the other is not, but I'm not a stickler on that as long as they are not given hormones. "Mass market" organics can be tricky business.

I took it for a few months, made me super jittery. I lost a little bit, then developed a tolerance to the phentermine and it stopped working, then the weight came rushing back. Not worth it, IMO.

Thanks! I started in earnest July 1, 2011. I was diagnosed as insulin resistant and heading straight into diabetes, and as such had a very hard time losing weight. I finally corralled a doctor and a nutritionist and they set me up with a very very low carb eating plan, very small portions, and monitored my vitamins to make…

As long as you get straight-up veggies and not one of those "seasoned/sauced" ones, it's often healthier than fresh because they're flash frozen right after they're picked so they haven't had time to lose vitamins from aging. Canned chickpeas/garbanzo beans are really good, too, for a little blast of protein and fiber.
-
If you like potatoes and carrots, how about parsnips? They're really good sliced up and roasted in a little olive oil.
-
Some dried beans, like lentils maybe? If you can get a couple of big bags of frozen veg and some tinned tomatoes you can at least have some "emergency soups" with protein.

Pelligrino, Perrier, Quibell, Calistoga are all big-name sparkling waters, they are different than the "flavored seltzers" that you'll find and don't have artificial sweetener. Can be an acquired taste, though. Me, I love 'em (Pelligrino is my secret weapon for when I go out to dinner, we order a big bottle and it keeps me…

lol nice! Although you may want to switch from steak fries to crinkle cut, then there will be more grooves to act as a carrier for the chocolate.

"Totally. Here's a sample menu: Breakfast: loaf of bread Snack: honey crullers, hot chocolate Lunch: Ice cream cake Snack: Cinnamon bun Dinner: French fries covered in chocolate and sugar Dessert: Ice cream" Lol! And it really works! Why hadn't I thought of that???
