  • I do a whole slew of glute kickbacks. And I FEEEEL it.
  • It could be based on your pant fit, your height or where you're losing the weight. Personally, 10 pounds meant I'm was down 2 sizes. The best thing to do is measure yourself. That'll give you a good idea of your progress.
  • I scored a 26 - And I really expected that I'd be a higher number. Maybe I have body image image issues. ;)
  • I have to do a reduced carb diet for health reasons but I have found that the zone diet is a good way of getting there. It limites your carbs to 40% instead of the standard 50%, balancing the rest with healthy fats and proteins Unfortunately, my diet is still a work in process as I am only 2 weeks in to restarting it.…
  • My legs! No matter my weight, they've always stayed lean and curvy. Go legs! Keep rockin' it!
  • I have three kids, a crazy job and a long commute. It's true, I do have spare time. It's just a matter of trying to be flexible on when you're going to work out because you never know when a toddler meltdown, school band concert or sick kid is going to jump in over your scheduled work out. Not excuses - just something I…
  • I'm doing zumba twice a week. And then training for a 5K with my husband three times a week. Hope to add strength training in after the 5K training once I'm really in the swing of things. The zumba is typically my fun time exercise. The 5K is to help me have a goal that isn't centered around my waist line! :)
  • I've been diagnosed with PCOS for over 10 years. I go through waves when I'm dilligent about watching what I eat and exercise but after a while, I get tired of fighting the crowd (my family) who constantly want pizza, bagels, and pasta. I'm gearing up to starting fresh next week. I have a goal of limiting my carbs to…
  • If I'm doing my own thing, I do around 45 minutes to an hour. Usually, I'm there for a class or two and will spend an hour or two. Any workout less than 45 minutes, I do in my own home so I don't have to worry about getting changed or driving for such a short period of time.

  • I prefer working out with a friend. It's definitely more motivating and makes me push a little harder. Work outs down on my own feel twice as long.
  • I find that if I want waffles, I have to go out and pay for it. Never get it at home.
  • When I see people walk into the weight area of the gym, especially those that aren't perfectly ripped, I hold them to a higher respect level. Getting fit is hard work and taking the time to invest in yourself is worth more than any possible weird looks you'd get. Go on and get in there! :)
  • Age doesn't play as big a role in weight as height and build. While as you age, you get more body fat, that doesn't have to be the case if you continue to eat healthy and exercise. I would instead try to check your body fat percentage and compare that to the average so you can determine where you are in range. Most gyms…
  • My husband stays home with the kids while I go off to work. There are days where both of us are exhausted from our respective "jobs" but we both know we wouldn't want to switch places. There are days where I'm jealous that he gets more time with the kids but I would much rather it was him than a daycare provider.
  • I picked up some diabetes cookbooks and used those to help me come up with ideas of snacks that are enjoyable. Celery and peanut butter are a staple, as is yogurt. On top of that, I find that my body responds much better to exercise than it does to just dieting. That's the pain of PCOS... no one is the same. Experiment and…
  • Awesome. Let's go!
  • Thanks for that! Very helpful!
  • Unfortunately, I do sit on my butt most the day as I have an office management job. I do work out in evenings but I try to calculate those based off of my HRM.
  • I got through my first class! I can barely move my arms from doing 350 million push ups but at least I made it through and survived! :-D
  • I've got my BEFORE pictures ready to go! And measurements taken. Let's kick some butt!
  • Sounds great! Thanks! :)
  • I ran my first 5K and finished in 43 minutes. (Yea!!) And while there were a ton of runners ahead of me, I'd say a good chunk of people were behind me, too! Don't worry about your time! Compete with yourself and don't worry about the others. :)
  • When you get to the end of your most intense work out class and find you're NOT ACTUALLY DYING! HALLELUJAH! I'm finally FIT!!
  • When I was at my best, I did the following: Monday - 20 minute run and 60 minute zumba Tuesday - 30 minute run and 30 minute weight lifting Wednesday - 20 minute run and 60 minute zumba Thursday - 30 minute run and 30 minute weight lifting Friday - Off Day Saturday - 60 minute zumba Sunday - Active day with the family…
  • Wow!! Good for you!!! I was dealing with a similar issue. Doing zumba 3-4 times a way plus running and I was dropping pant sizes but the scale wasn't moving. Glad to see I wasn't the only one!!
  • Have you looked into Stroller Strides? They're a nationwide brand that has you bring your child in a stroller and you work out there with your baby and other moms. I haven't tried it since I work during the times it's hosted locally but it looks great!
