TONS of success pics on Reddit under /r/keto (which is a very low carb diet). Set it to Top Posts of all time and you can see a lot.

I have the same question and have been over this with a Dr just yesterday. I told her I want to be on something but I'm trying to lose weight. She told me that the shot you get every 3 months will 100% cause you to gain weight. She suggested an implant that they put INSIDE YOUR ARM if I didn't want to gain weight. No way…

I have to admit, the smell of pizza is really hard to resist but as long as there's a veggie plate then I'll be ok :) The threat of getting knocked out of ketosis and having to wait days or weeks get back into it losing progress is enough of a deterrent on it's own, lol. Count that as one of your NSVs and congrats!

I heard some people have carb days to confuse the body, but be warned if you're doing low carb (<=20g) to get your body into ketosis you'll be knocked out of ketosis and have to get back into it again which could take days or weeks which is a major bummer. I also find once I eat something sweet my brain kicks into…

You guys are the best ever! Thanks for the recipes!

- No refrigeration needed / No cooking needed - Almonds, walnuts or pine nuts (all great to add into salads), beef jerky, protein bars (Quest, Oh Yeah One, or Kirkland brands are good) - Refrigeration needed / No cooking needed - Pepperoni, deli meats, cheese, salad greens and various dressings And I'll add to your list…

Nooo it will give you cramps if you eat too much of it. Try reducing your dairy intake and upping your veggies with high fiber, like broccoli or cauliflower. Avocado might work too.

@Panda_Poptarts I can definitely tell when I've eaten some and it depends on how much of it I ate. A small bowl of ice cream, maybe around 1 cup and I'll have a little cramping and gas. I had two scoops of the ice cream yesterday in a diet root beer float and didn't notice anything. One time I ate 7 pieces of sugar free…

@pjoh127 - I think at a certain point that yes it adapts and you'll have to mix up your workouts to break through plateaus and such. This is something @AngelinaB_ noticed as well. I know some people have carb loading days and other days when they have 0 carbs at all. That wouldn't work with a strict keto diet though cause…

@KnitOrMiss - Thank you!

If you're not hungry then you can skip breakfast and have a bigger lunch and dinner. You can also eat "dinner foods" for breakfast if you want :) My mornings I'm too tired to bother so I have coffee with HWC and whatever sugar free syrup I feel like having.

@MyriiStorm I missed fluffy thick crust too, the thicker the better (which is how I got here to begin with). You need to try fathead pizza. It's MUCH better than any of the cauliflower pizzas I've made and is the closest I've gotten to feeling like I have real crust. I made a meatlovers pizza and it was awesome! Pic &…

A few things I miss on LCHF: 1) Oatmeal - yes there's a low carb version which is essentially pecans, chia seeds and other various seeds, but I haven't tried that yet. I miss regular oatmeal with.. 2) Fruit - I miss fruit a LOT. 3) Pancakes. No real reason other than I don't really like the cream cheese ones all that much,…

Oh crap. Really? The ice cream I've been eating has Malitol and I haven't been counting it. Dang it, I can't win!!

Sugar should be taxed if you are on a universal health care system. Since the US isn't, then you're just taxing yourself later when you become diabetic or overweight and have complications. If not then there should be penalties or restrictions for companies who are adding too much sugar into our food. Do we really need…

That's amazing, keep it up!!

I feel you, I lost some of my boobs and a lot in my butt when I really didn't want to. I wish we could spot reduce but we can't. My stomach did eventually go down but it's the last to go, and it's that way with most people. I feel like I'm still preggo. On the plus side, I fit into chairs better so it's not all horrible :)…

I echo @supergal3 advice - watch those sugar alcohols, specifically malitol. It makes me have to GO and gives me some bad cramping sometimes. Some people digest it fine, and I am ok up to a point, but I can definitly feel it when I have too much. One time I ate 7 sugar free toffee candies thinking, yay sugar free! No..…

I have PCOS. This WOE really helps A LOT with fertility issues tied to PCOS. Without sugar, the cysts cannot grow, so without sugar they either reduce a bit or go away altogether. There's studies that show this can apply to cancer as well but I'll leave the more serious subjects to the experts. I've been pregnant twice and…

Another size 22 checking in, 5'7 255 lbs. I carry most of my weight in my stomach area :( Damn sugar..

I follow a low carb diet and allow myself a cheat meal every once in awhile. I like it a lot because I don't find I'm missing out on anything *most* of the time. I get plenty of veggies with olive oil or butter, I can eat hamburgers, meatballs, sausages, eggs and bacon, and of course salads. I can still have ice cream as…

There's plenty of low carb and keto blogs out there. Cavemanketo and Keto Karma are both low carb blogs that should have plenty of recipes to fit your macros. Youtube and Reddit are great resources as well for recipes. If you have trouble getting enough fat try adding olive oil, heavy whipping cream or real butter to your…

Extra veggies - Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, onions, spaghetti squash, tomatoes (fresh or canned for sauces) zucchini (to make noodles with!) if you have a spiral-er which I highly recommend. String beans are good roasted in the oven with garlic and olive oil. Those frozen pre-mixed veggies in a bag are awesome…

There's so many fat options! Add butter, olive oil or coconut oil to whatever you're cooking. I love loading up broccoli with garlic and olive oil and roasting it in the oven. Heavy cream in your coffee or tea, or create some of that chia pudding with it that people have been talking about. Dark chocolate, avocado and…

Normally I aim for a lb a week but have been de-railed a bit lately (medical reasons). Before June I was at 55lbs lost and started low carb Oct 2015. Now I'm up 5lbs for a total of 50lbs lost which I'm assuming the extra 5 is water weight. When you first start you'll drop quite a bit, typically around 5-7lbs up to even…

I don't know about any of the science-y stuff of this but boy does it upset me to hear people spout calories in calories out. 1200 calories of twinkies won't keep you full or satisfied for an entire day. Then people come back with "oh well of course carbs turn into glucose and are stored as fat, everyone knows that". NO!…

I would go at least once a year for your wellness check and blood work. You'll want to get a lipid panel done (shows a breakdown of HDL/LDL and triglycerides) but you'll also want to check your iron levels or anything else that has been low in the past. Since people eating a low carb diet tend to eat a good amount of fat,…

The only fruit I have are avocados, raspberries, blackberries and occasionally strawberries. You will want to go for the ones lowest in sugar and highest in fiber. Use whichever food pyramid fits your macros: One: http://ketodietapp.com/Blog/image.axd?picture=/2015/11/KetogenicFoodPyramid_highres.jpg Two:…

Not really a recipe, but definitely easy - Breyers makes two flavors of carb smart ice cream, vanilla and chocolate. I have vanilla now which has 4 net carbs and it's delicious!! I was also told smuckers makes a great sugar free fudge topping so I'm going to get that next. I have the Hersheys sugar free chocolate topping…
