  • Are you "eating back" the calories you're burning? 1200 is already low, if you're exercising even more off then yea you'd be hungry. Are you getting enough healthy fats in your diet, ie olive oils, avocados etc?
  • Her name is "weightlosshero" and she talks about it in her post on April 9th. So I would think Keto would actually help with your surgery recovery.
  • There's a girl on IG who doesn't always do Keto unless she's having surgery or something. She says the diet helps reduce inflammation and bloating which really helps with the healing process. I'll go look her up.
  • I started Oct 11th 2015 and am down 50lbs. April was a rough month for me and I didn't lose much of anything, just maintained my 50lb loss. Gained and lost and gained and lost from not sticking strict to Keto. Resetting now and going back to 100% Keto, at least until my birthday :) Then I will have cupcakes I'm sure!
  • > numbers not defined, proceeding to eat all ingredients and all chemicals
  • I do something similar to fit goat. I'm always rushing in the AM so I don't have time to be messing around with eggs and bacon at 4 in the morning. I have them for dinner sometimes though :) My "breakfast" is usually coffee with HWC and I eat my lunch around 11am-12pm, depending on my hunger and work levels. Then I get to…
  • There's nothing you can do about your height, that's just your genetics. There's no diet you can be on to make yourself grow taller. They can alter your dress to be shorter or you can wear heels (even small kitten heels would work). I'd go with getting the dress altered - if you're not comfortable in heels lets not make…
  • Not really mourn, but definitely disappointment feelings. I used to just eat whatever was around whenever I felt like it. 2 pieces of toast with lots of peanut butter? Check. Huge bag of chips? Yes, in one sitting. Apples with 2 scoops of peanut butter? Check. Ice cream, cheesecake, and Dairy Queen blizzards? Check, check…
  • I waited and focused on my kiddo before losing weight. I know that's not ideal by everyone but that's what I wanted to do. I had so many new things to get used to I didn't want to add a new diet to that! She's 3 now and after moving around to a new country and finding a new job, I'm committed to losing weight. I lost the…
  • Doesn't five guys offer a lettuce wrap option? If not and you want to eat there, have them make you a taco salad sort of deal. Lots of veggies and break up a couple patties and crumble over the salad. Packing your own lunch works too.
  • I must be missing out on something. No one on my list posts pictures that are not food related, so I have no idea what they look like (other than one small profile pic). All I see are steaks and asparagus. Lol.
  • I would say better by myself but I haven't had good luck with partners. We'd decide on a day to go and they would back out from headaches, not feeling well etc. At least on my own if I fail it's my own fault. Plus I love listening to music :)
  • Congrats, good for you!
  • The fatty in me would love to, just as much as I'd love to eat a pile of twinkies, or buy a pile of candy a day after a holiday and just binge on it. When I worked at Mc Donalds it was nothing to eat a large fries for my break with a burger, and I'd stuff the fries as full as I could. It's not worth feeling like garbage an…
  • I pay for Google Play which includes YouTube Red - it allows you to stream any YouTube playlist in the background on your phone. Loads of playlists there depending on what you like :)
  • Skinny jeans look funny on me, if I had my way I'd be buying flare pants lol
  • "Isn't that too much broccoli?" "It's 5oz, I like broccoli." "You weigh your broccoli?" "How else can I log it?" "..you log broccoli?!" "..." This times a million for condiments, cheese used for topping salads, etc. Yes I weigh everything. No it isn't hard, I weigh it all ahead of time and portion it out. Its time spent up…
  • 500 is a good chunk to work with. I had cauliflower mash today which is 330 calories, and you can add a simple baked chicken breast for about 120 calories or so, depending on the size of it. The mash was more than enough for me though, I had a big container of it. It has three different types of cheeses.. drool.
  • I didn't know this about magnesium deficiency causing chocolate cravings. Wow I really need to look into this. I've been following LCHF/Keto for 7 months now and the past couple of months have been rocky. I am craving chocolate and fruit, my god, FRUIT! I miss having a juicy orange or apple with peanut butter.

  • No you don't have to give up garlic, don't be sad! One or two cloves is maybe a carb or two. I use it all the time!
  • The MFP import recipe has a bug where it will read what you put in and put just ANYTHING there, whether or not you mention 1 clove or 1tsp. It probably took a whole head of garlic or a cup of garlic and listed it as 3 cloves. I have to manually go into each ingredient and change 1 cup to 1tbsp or clove etc. It's very…
  • I stick with NET carbs and I am in the US. The US rolls Fiber into the total carb count. The UK does not. If I were in the UK I'd do the total carb count. If I didn't subtract the fiber I'd be hungry all the time because I'd have to restrict a lot of healthy veggies that are full of fiber, such as broccoli and avocado.

  • @missabbyb There's a lot of meal prep happening on Sundays for a lot of us! Yesterday I made a cauliflower mash and portioned it out into 4 containers, and I'll be having that with some grilled chicken and low carb yogurt. The instagram community has a lot of keto-ers showing their meal prep Sunday ideas.
  • 1) Full fat ranch or mayo - just look for low carb. The reason for going for full fat is because reduced fat products usually add sugar to make the product taste better, which of course adds carbs and makes people gain weight. 2) Going out - Most places offer a "protein style" option. Jimmy johns has an "unwich" option…
  • It's important for everyone giving advice to remember that the US labels carbs differently than the UK. If you're in the UK, fiber is not rolled into the carb count so you'd just track total carbs. In the US, you'd have to subtract the fiber from the carbs because you're not storing or absorbing fiber. Sugar is included in…
  • > There is nothing exact about any of this so don't expect exactness. IMO, that is one of the most worthless features on MFP. I wouldn't say worthless, they are pretty motivating for me!
  • It depends on what it is. Cooked meats I prepare and eat up to 3 days ahead of time. Salad can last up to a week if there's no dressing already in it. Oatmeal I prepare for my kiddo on Sundays and that lasts all week. I leave it plain though and add fillings later, in the fridge it's nothing but plain steel cut oats. Not…
  • The only thing you get with the Gear S2 fitness wise is the S Health App. It does not automatically track your sleep like fitbit. It will map your walking routes though but I found that you have to have wifi turned on on your phone for it to map correctly. You can also get Lifesum which allows you to track food, and…
  • - YES. You have two choices, accept that this is how he wants to be, or leave. Now, don't just get up and leave, talk to him about it. And I don't mean nag him, or threaten him (ie you have to eat like me or I'll leave), but an honest 100% talk about how you're feeling and that it's driving you away from him. If you're not…
  • Great work all! One NSV happened this morning - I had bought these socks last Nov or Dec that are meant to come up to your knee but I couldn't pull them up, so I'd bunch them around my ankle or fold them down a couple times. I thought, omg, who would have thought this would be an issue with socks?? This morning I was able…
