  • I like my 220, and would probably go for the 230, because I really like my Scosche Rhythm+ armband HRM. I got it because I had the 220 and didn't want a chest strap, but it's really comfy and I forget it's there. My watch always is sliding around on my wrist, and I don't know how accurate that would make the wrist based…
  • If the sidewalks haven't been cleared and you don't have any traction things for your shoes (such as Yaktrax), I might skip it for today and do some other kind of workout or use a treadmill indoors if you have access to one. Not only might it be slippery, but it can be really difficult to run through the snow. Even if it's…
  • That's why I love my Tracer360 vest. It's basically almost like a giant glowstick vest, and you can customize what colors the LEDs are. I like to leave mine on a rotating rainbow.
  • If the road is slick or it's near freezing you certainly could, although I have never had a problem on wet pavement when temperatures are above freezing (and it's not mid-winter so the ground isn't frozen and cold). Be wary of the painted lines, though, try to avoid them. Those definitely can get slick.
  • I use a NoxGear Tracer360 LED vest for visibility and a headlamp (Black Diamond Spot) for lighting up the ground.
  • We hid as usual from trick or treaters. :) Actually this year we just went to dinner instead of turning off all the lights.
  • Hey Roger... great job keeping up the walking. :) I usually just have too many threads to catch up on and I kinda lost track of this one for a while, but I got a PM from Willow yesterday and realized how long it has been since I checked in! So, hello all May 2013 starters (and Roger :))! I have been trucking along as…
  • Thanks for the reminder! I actually bought all mine until hopefully a March/April sale though during the last one so I am all set. :)
  • I'm not really a mushroom person, but I really like that chicken breast. :)
  • Yeah, like Roger said, I would put it on a tray, or even just some foil. I think part of the bursting/leaking issue is due to cooking it in the microwave. Sometimes the hot pocket things do that to me too. I don't really care about it too much because it just pools up some of the cheese and broccoli on the plate to the…
  • I don't know if I'd cook the stuffed chicken on the grill. :) In the microwave sometimes mine burst open and the cheese leaks out onto the plate (usually the broccoli one) but I guess that could also be due to it being in the microwave. But I don't think the stuffing is a complete seal, so you may want to be careful of…
  • Glad you are enjoying your morning walks, Roger! Sometimes I run past people who have yard chickens. And yesterday on the way home from the gym, I had to stop to let a flock of about 20 wild turkeys (it looked like 3-4 adults and the rest were all smaller/younger) cross the road!
  • I charge mine 2-3 times a week, and they are not always full charges (i.e. the battery wasn't fully drained). It is cool and cloudy and was drizzly this morning, but I made my way up to Maine to do my race. Now I'm pretty tired because I woke up at 5:30! Can't believe the weekend is already over... booooo.
  • If you are too worried about it, you just put the app in the background and it won't hold the screen on. :) I just meant that it's not a problem with the app that needs to be fixed. It's there by design. An iPhone will lose about 20% of it's capacity after ~400 full charge cycles... a lot of people will have replaced their…
  • No the screen stays on by design when the app is active so that you can keep track of the stats without needing to turn it on. Because a lot of people use them in arm bands or similar cases when running and it would be too cumbersome to keep turning it back on/unlocking it. If you want the screen to go back to sleep…
  • Yeah I do the same thing before my long runs, Roger. On RunKeeper's website, they have a route planning feature like you have in MapMyRun. I always plot out my route to figure out what side streets and stuff I need to go down to get the correct distance when I end up at home. :) Willow, sounds like a nice hike. :) The GPS…
  • It's a double edged sword... when we vacation other places and order regular coffee, we tend to be confused when we end up with black. I like my coffee to be fairly dark and just a little bit sweet. In a 16 oz mug, I will put in 1.5 tsp sugar and 2 tbsp half & half. That's probably at least half as much as they…
  • Yeah, I didn't necessarily mean your brother, just your comment made me think of how many vacationers we get up here who order it and then wonder why they got cream and sugar. :)
  • At Dunks, "regular" means with cream and sugar. That's how we drink it up here. Obviously I don't know what your brother specifically ordered, but I know that it is often an issue up here when people from out of the area order "regular coffee" and think they are getting black. :) I use sugar and cream (half & half)…
  • Willow, if you have a smart phone, you can download an app like RunKeeper (which despite the name will track many different kinds of activities) and it will track your route via GPS and tell you how far it was.
  • It's all about improving on your own distance or time. :) You are making great improvements with your walks!
  • I had to delay my run later this morning due to rain. I had planned to get out the door by about 7:30 but it was pouring then, so I waited for the radar to clear up a little bit. It was still raining when I finally headed out around 8:15, but not too heavy. 5 miles done in about 1 hour. :)
  • Yes they went on sale a couple weeks ago and the sale ends on the 19th!
  • I put some ketchup on the omelet and it was ok, but it wasn't my delicious biscuit. :) Ketchup is a fruit serving, right? ;)
  • It has been a bad spring/summer for bills for us too! Some bills are pleasure related and were expected (flights/hotel/race registrations for CA and FL for my half marathons this year) but others were unexpected and unpleasant (LOTS of car repairs and dog biopsy and cancer surgery and chemo). And then of course NS had…
  • Sadly the PA warehouse is already out of the Canadian bacon & cheese biscuits. I received 10 omelettes today even though it did not show low inventory up until my order processed last Thursday, which was only a couple days after the email. :(
  • Unless it just doesn't show the subs on the online packing list, nothing was subbed in mine. It still shows 10 Canadian bacon & cheese biscuits and 29 Mac & Cheese with Beef (9 regular order, 20 a la carte).
  • Willow, I hope you are on the mend now! Sorry to hear about your hospital troubles. :( I eat Chobani yogurt because I like it and it does not have any artificial stuff in it. Most of the time the 0% varieties which are 120-130 calories, but sometimes the 2% ones which are like 150.
  • I always eat a Greek yogurt with my lunch as the PF (and dessert).
  • This is the first email that I have gotten from NS in over 2 years other than my order confirmations. And it made me so sad because I am a big orderer of the Mac & Cheese with Beef and the Canadian Bacon & Cheese Biscuit. :(
