Oh sweetie I'm sorry you've been dealing with stress but don't worry about one slip-up! It looks like you've gotten yourself right back on track and that is awesome! As for this.. you are SO RIGHT!!: "I've decided to ignore and try to forget the Jerk. Ultimately it does one less damage to put these things out of ones mind,…

Excellent thanks for all the input!! I'll start at 40/30/30 and monitor for a few weeks to see how this works for me. Just wanted a baseline to experiment with.

The goal setting in MFP allows for percentages of daily intake and that is the way I've always thought of it.. pieces of the daily pie.. not calorie numbers. More of a ratio.
-
I am not allowing MFP to set my goals.. I override them with my own because I workout like crazy and I know my body better than the computer does :) Under exercise it says "Calories Burned: 29" which is fine.. but then it's taking that 29 and subtracting it from my 1500 goal saying i'm only allowed 1471 which makes…

I'm wondering about this too!! I generally use Sunday as a free day .. basically eat what I want, that way I don't feel as deprived Monday - Saturday. I still have cheats here and there during the week and will have wine on Friday and Saturday night but still being somewhat careful about diet. But then Sunday I can eat…

Lol I wasn't speaking for you hon. Simply saying that my conflict is whether i should not eat if I'm not hungry or is it better to eat for the sake of having regular meals and keeping the metabolism stoked. That is MY conflict. When I eat I eat very healthy and only have a few lbs left to lose which are the toughest.

I'm also wondering about this. I workout in the morning and very often skip breakfast, not eating until around 11 or noon. I'm not sure if eating less is actually helping or hurting me. Sometimes I will also skip dinner altogether or just have something small like a handful of nuts. I think I may be sabotaging myself even…

Hey Rachel.. I'm in the same situation. I gained 20 pounds over the winter and I only have a couple of things that still fit me. I'd like to lose the 20 I gained plus another 10 :)

You look beautiful!

Looks like you're off to a great start with your food diaries.. way to go!! I'm new this week too and very pleased I found this community

Vodka has no carbs and low cals. Tonic water is very high in both. (unless you get diet) If you like margaritas try SkinnyGirl Margarita. A lot of places are carrying it now. I was out to dinner a few days ago and they didn't have that but they did have SkinnyGirl Pina Colada which was also delicious. Low calories and low…

Grilled Zucchini! Quick, easy & delicious. Not sure if it's ok to link to your own site but I have pics posted here: http://www.oneburntpixel.com/2011/04/grilled-zucchini/ Basically just wash whole zucchini and slice thinly lengthwise. Place on foil and drizzle with olive oil and spices of your choice (I use fresh ground…

Thank you all so much for the informative responses. @mstorious.. thank you for geeking out! Great info :) @Rachel.. yes! I found the strength training entry in cardio. It doesn't give much but at least it acknowledges my workout time and adds it to my goal. I understand and agree that the immediate calorie expenditure…

Nat .. yeah that makes perfect sense. Except like Yukon said I find when i weight train I lose weight much faster because the body works for several hours after to repair the muscle. Muscle also requires more energy (calories) just to exist so even sitting still you burn more cals when you have muscle to maintain. Just…

Agreed Yukon! Reese & Sammy .. I guess I can manually add "Weight Training" under cardio but how do you know how many calories to assign?

Try to eat foods that fill you up like proteins and fiber. You said you had a 300 calorie lunch but it was "not the best lunch".. if it's high carb/sugar you may burn through it quick. Also, as everyone has said, drink a cold glass of water which will make you feel full.
