Weighing yourself holding you back?
I would say I'm addicted to the scale. I weigh myself every single day (on a FitBit Aria so it gets uploaded online automatically). I think this dependence is holding me back from making progress. For example: last week I ate pretty well, cut back on the vino and worked out HARD. I lost a pound. This frustrated me and I…

Back to Back RI30
Has anyone done back to back sessions of Ripped in 30 or any similar at home workout DVD? I was thinking of doing the dvd up to the cool down and then starting again from where the workout starts (skipping the 2nd warmup) and redoing the 20 minute circuit. I love the shorter workout most of the time but sometimes want to…

Anyone recently start Ripped in 30?
I started Ripped in 30 on Monday. Was wondering if anyone else started recently who may have support and feedback. For me, I think it will be tough to do full body 5 days in a row but that's my goal. Monday through Friday plus a possible bonus on Sunday (Jillian recommends 5-6 days per week). Here's my feedback: Day 1: Was…

RI30 Question: working same muscles 6 consecutive days
I've always been told not to work the same muscles on consecutive days. But videos such as Ripped in 30 have you do the same full body workout 6 days in a row. Is that okay? Thoughts? Video looks great, just surprised that it's the same workout for each full week with only 1 day of rest.

At home dvd trainers/workout videos
I belong to a gym but need to shake things up a bit and can't afford a personal trainer. I think some of these workout dvd's are just as good if not better than hiring a trainer. I'd love to hear feedback from anyone who has used a workout DVD that you've liked.. or for that matter if you tried one and didn't like it and…

Low Carb and High Intensity Exercise
I've tried Induction many times and invariably I fail, whether it be 3 days later or 1 day, the part I find most difficult is the impact on my workouts. I do HIIT on a stairmill, and when i cut my carbs back to 20 per day I can hardly do 30 minutes at a very low level.. no intervals at all. Has anyone else experienced this…

Support Groups
Looking for a support group starting up in July. I've been struggling losing and regaining the same 10 pounds and need some accountability and support! I've applied to two different groups but both were full :frown:

Grilled Chicken suggestions
How do you all bake or grill your chicken breasts? I'm talking spices or marinades? My plain grilled chicken is meh, boring. Would love to hear some lowfat suggestions on what you use when you cook your chicken.

Work Snacks on Induction
So I'm on Day 1 of Induction ..haha, hoping to make it to day 14 :) Wondering what types of portable snacks you folks take to work with you? I was thinking deli turkey slices, pickles, not sure what else? I'm not allowed to have nuts yet so that makes it a little tougher. Any ideas?

Newbie Day 1
I'm hoping to do a 2 week induction to jump start my weight loss. I have about 10 pounds to lose to get to my normal weight but then another 10 to get to my goal weight. I've been going up and down 7 pounds for the past few months so I feel like I need something dramatic. I'm a little nervous and not sure if I can do the…

Fitbit doing odd things to daily calorie allotment
I set my daily calories to 1,500. I also have a fitbit connected to my MFP account. It seems to periodically sync my steps as exercise deficits. Under exercise it states 29 calories burned (from fitbit steps). My food diary now shows 1,471 calories allowed rather than 1500. Counter-intuitive? Why am I getting less calories…

Carbs, Protein, Fats percentages
Hey all! I am setting my goals and trying to find the right mix of carbs, proteins and fats in my daily intake. I am trying to burn fat but also build muscle as I strength train 3-5 days a week plus yoga. I also do HIIT cardio so I do need some carbs as well. I was thinking the following but would love input: Carbs: 40%…

Started this week.. Saying HI
I stumbled upon this site on Wednesday reading a random blog and thought it might be just what I need. I'm usually about 120-122 lbs but last winter I gained 20 pounds. I came down with the flu.. twice and basically stopped going to the gym. I also was partaking in far too many "comfort" foods. NONE of my clothes fit and…

Weight Training
Weight training doesn't count towards workout time? And you get no calories for it? I hope I'm doing something wrong because that seems completely backwards. to me.

The Scale
Trying to figure out how often to weigh myself. Any philosophies on good/bad approaches? I want to weigh in everyday but I realize weight fluctuates due to factors other than weight loss/gain. How often do you folks hit the scale?
