If you're doing any weight training, too, it's also possible that your weight gain is muscle mass (which is a good thing). If you notice a difference in your clothes, then you're losing there...so don't get discouraged!

As a Christian, I believe it's VERY important that you (when dating, seeking a mate, etc) choose a person that is a Christian, as well. Scripture commands (2 Corinthians 6:14) that you not marry an unbeliever, and if you're serious about following that command, I'm not sure if it makes sense to be dating an unbeliever. So,…

Haha...looks like MFP thought I was saying a dirty word. :) Of course, I got it at "Richard's" Sporting Goods. :)
-
When I used to go out and do extra stuff like that (soccer casually, etc), I'd log about half of what MFP gave me, just to be safe. Recently I got a heart rate monitor (cheap one for $30 at ****'s Sporting Goods)...and it has been SUCH a big help, as I can now more accurately log what I burned doing things like that. It's…

Agreed!
-
I heartily agree! You need to subtract your regular calories burnt from your exercise calories when you use a HRM.
-
I'd be curious, too...as I just got a pair that is wearing out HORRIBLY fast. So, what brand tends to really last?
-
Yes, I'd also be curious to know how you're doing with exercise. I know that's one of the most important factors in raising your good cholesterol.

Whew...only 23%!

Mixed in a bowel? Hmmm...not sure about that. :)
-
I've also heard that mussels are super-low in calories, and you can eat a ton of them and fill yourself. :)
-
Ditto...I agree with this, too!
-
I'm pretty sure that more muscle helps you to burn calories more effectively.
-
I think you look good now, but I'd say do whatever you'd enjoy. If you would enjoy a fresh, new look -- then do that.
-
...and this is really good advice, too. Enjoy the meal fully on Thanksgiving Day, but then don't keep stuffing yourself for days afterward. Keep logging what you eat, and stay under your calorie goal beginning again the day after Thanksgiving.
-
This is really good advice.

Try interval training (going from moderate speed for a good chunk of time, to as fast as you can go for a short period, then back to moderate speed for a longer time, then back to as fast as you can do for a short time, etc)...this really burns most effectively! You can do interval training on a variety of different things…

Oh, and I thought you might like hearing (from a fellow sweet tea addict)...I never was able to enjoy the Stevia and those other kinds of sweeteners. They just don't taste like sugar...so I couldn't enjoy them. I was much more successful just finding some good flavors to drink unsweetened. I couldn't replace sugar with…

Oh, I forgot to add...Another REALLY good place to get tea (to make the unsweetened tea I described) is The Republic of Tea (http://www.republicoftea.com). My favorite flavors are Ginger Peach, Blackberry Sage, Apricot Decaf, Mango Ceylon, Lemon Wintergreen, Kiwi Pear, and Cherry Strawberry.
-
I am a MASSIVE sweet tea addict (I'd put 4 or 5 cups of sugar into a jug of tea, and I would drink 4 or 5 big glasses of tea a day)...and knew that I needed to stop drinking it, if I was ever going to be serious about losing some weight. So...I've started drinking unsweetened tea...but the trick for me has been finding…

Two things that might be helpful to you: 1) Remember that you need to drink eight CUPS of water (not eight GLASSES). Some glasses are actually 1 1/2 or 2 cups of water, so take the size of your glasses of water into account -- that'll help you out a lot! 2) I count anything that is non-caffeinated into my count. I also…

YAY for detail people. Sometimes I feel like an oddball for being one; it's good to read posts from other people who are oddballs, too. :)
-
Swiss chard. Yuck. Sorry. :)

Definitely eat those calories. Since you're doing so much exercise, your body will need the calories -- in order to keep your metabolism up. You'll be eating more than you're used to, at least for a while -- but it's the right thing to do, as long as you are aware of your limit and don't start to go over. :)
-
I echo that...Get into the habit of exercising every day, and you'll "earn" some additional calories that you can use toward dinner and a light evening snack. That's what makes it possible for me!
-
I'd probably use some form of gardening, maybe?
-
Likewise, I'd really like to hear the results from anyone who tries it -- but I'm not sure I'm ready to do it myself, yet. :)
-
On a day when I'm planning to eat out, I try to go exercise an extra time that day -- to "buy" myself a few more calories (to make it possible for me to eat out and not have to be so stingy). It's helped me to still be able to enjoy eating out!

Pretzels in lettuce. Yum.... :) OK, so you may not like it, but I do. :)
