  • Welcome !! It's very inspiring to hear that you have chosen to be the best you can be for yourself and your children. Bravo !! You will go a long way with that attitude and create a fabulous life for yourself.
  • When you feel that urge coming on .. STOP ... get away from the fridge, the food the TV You are probably tired .. go to bed .. read motivational books ... sleep Then when you wake up think about what lead to the cravings. My guess is your first carb snack of the evening or the diet snack that tasted like sugar ... they can…
  • Ya, I'm confused with this whole issue too. If i feed my body 1200 to 1400 very nutritional calories everyday, won't it be satisfied? If i exercise and burn calories, doesn't that calorie burning melt the fat stores? If I want to lose a pound a week then I need to burn 500 calories 7 days a week = 3500 calories. Why would…

  • Day 3 of 4 for me 69:30 minutes to burn 1000 calories ... man that's tough !!! On the plus side the first 30 minutes are getting easier

  • You are all welcome ... it's the first time I'd read it .... very enlightening
  • I like that idea 50 sit ups or crunches 3 days a week ... do sets of 5 or 10 at a time to not injure ourselves
  • Ideas for a few minutes of exercise - while sitting, lift your knees up off the floor 50 times - when sitting on the couch, straighten your legs out over the coffee table, bring them in .. push them out .. have a competition with your spouse or kids - run up the stairs in your house (or at the front door), eyes up keep…
  • Done !! pant, pant .... More than 8 glasses of water and 69 minutes on the elliptical for 1000 calories (burning off my birthday cake:laugh: ) I also moved my exercise ball to my sewing room (I work at home) so that I can do core crunches during working hours. Go Canucks Go!!
  • Either way it's a positive ... You ate less OR you have a great sense of humor ! Today I ate a fresh fruit breakfast and I talked nicely to myself when I looked in the mirror.
  • ... I thought this was worth sharing ... Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers... When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he…
  • I think they are all good ideas but I do not think they are going to help change eating patterns. DevaFae, and others (myself included), need to get to the root of the issue before true change is going to happen. When real stress hits home and we open the freezer for comfort ... whats going to make us reach for the ice…

  • Too much to burn in one session? ... or you think it's not reading right? My husband goes harder than I do and he burns a 1000 in 60 minutes.
  • Off topic a bit but .... Of the people left on the show WHOs going to win !!! My vote is for ..... Dane .... or maybe Green girl (darn forgot her name, she's a real competitor)
  • So funny !! I thought it was a good show tonight. I appreciated the honesty of Jillian and Bob telling Alison not to candy-coat that 2 pound loss (Yellow team member, forgot her name). Tell it like it is .. it's not muscle gain at this point, it's just plain ole' lack of effort. (food & exercise) I've heard Jillian say on…

  • I looked into this for my husband. He drinks about 6 oz a day with his whey protein and has done so for about 5 years, since quitting dairy products. I found many articles that agreeing and disagree ?!?! which is very frustrating ... here's one ... http://www.soymilkquick.com/shouldmenworry.php PS ... all his body body…
  • Awesome ... That what I like to read ! Love your posts about not trusting the FDA or any other agency, company, industry or the elusive "they" who keep telling us that processed foods and artificial sweeteners are beneficial. About the mercury (and all other harmful substances, preservatives and the like that are added to…

  • I went to SEARS and tried out all the floor models. I selected one that was very sturdy, had the settings options I wanted, a heart rate monitor (although it does work as well as the one I wear) and it was light enough for me to move around (it has wheels on the front section, that only come in contact with the ground when…
