If you're having a hard time breathing in through your nose, you're pushing yourself WAY too hard. You need to cut back on your speed a little.

There is more than 5 I'd suggest. For example: Talk to your doctor about any concerns you might have, get a good pair of shoes, and warm up/cool down. Those are kind of a given. 1) Hydration is key! If you're just starting, water will be your best friend. If you're a hardcore athlete and started taking on running, you can…

Strict diet: Protein shake for breakfast, Protein shake for lunch, a very light lean dinner (chicken, brown rice, and some green veggie), tons of supplements, and at least 2-3 hours of interval training (cardio) and strength training at least 6 days a week. You should be good with that.

I feel that this should be a blog post and a link be in here instead. Hmm

I usually run 30 minutes and burn that so I'm wondering if you're using a HRM to calculate this...

Oh my gosh, you're not a jerk! There was this tiny girl in the store I was at the other day who was the smallest thing EVER and had a muffin top because her jeans were too tight. I mean, she couldn't have been bigger than a size 2 and she looked like she was wearing a "00"! I don't get some people.

Here's a website that explains the difference between which ones. http://ezinearticles.com/?Choosing-The-Right-Protein-Powder&id=250946 I agree with the gentleman above otherwise.

When I got over my plateau, I dropped 6lb in a week. My doc said it was normal. When I was in the hospital and dropped 40+lb in 5 days (that I didn't have to lose), that wasn't okay. If you become more concerned about it, talk to your doctor. Here's a website that might help if you're deficient in any vitamins:…

I like that most people jump to the conclusion that the postee is doing something wrong. How about we assume they know what they burn and answer the question without the attack?

It is to me because I'm severely allergic.

Lol!

this might be weird but the anterior compartment (the front of your shin). Every single time I run, that hurts over any other part of my body. I heard tapping your toes will help strengthen it so I'mma try it.

How is that possible?

I wish I had a cool phone that would allow me to do that :( I still live in ancient times with my phone.

I have yet to find a friend like that. Everyone seems so supportive. We're all here for the same reasons. Of course no one IRL knows that I've decided to lose weight. I should probably work on that.

I'm running two: Aug 28th and Sept 19th. My daughter is doing the kids 1/2 mile before I run though. She's 3.

I agree with this. My HRM tells me I burn 500-700 per workout. Before, I wasn't really too sure about what I really burned. It was a good investment I made.

I use to hate running. I could never get past the aches and pains it brought to me. What got me to start running was a friend of mine. She had passed away from Leukemia and the Leukemia & Lymphoma society was doing a marathon in her honor 6 months from the time I found out about it. Apparently she had volunteered to be a…

I'm doing this. I'm currently up to 75 push ups a day now. I started out only being able to do 8 about 2 weeks ago.
-
I'mma start running at 3am - 4am. I was trying to run at night (like last night) but the hot wind did not cool me down what-so-ever. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and decided to try my hand at jogging at that time. It wasn't as bad.

Zumba is so much fun! If you tell the instructor at the beginning that you've never done it before, she'll focus on ya a bit more. I did that with my zumba and yoga instructor (accidentally went into an advance class with both) and they were very helpful. Remember to enjoy yourself!

On a side note, I just made the recipe on this site and each portion is over 250 calories! EEK! I hope that's enough for me to stay away...

Naw. No dog. I wouldn't throw it away anyhow. I called a couple of people to give it to. I made a 1/2 recipe so it only made 12 cupcakes. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm going to do push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, e tc and hopefully go on a really long run later today when my daughter's Nana and Papa take her…

Lifting weights gives you more of a metabolic spike. This usually last for an hour or so.

It's all about your HRM.

I didn't know that eating healthy could be filling. I thought I had to eat stuff like pasta to be full.

Change your workout. Interval training works great. Also things like push ups and sit ups work well, too. Free weights are pretty awesome
