Good morning! Day two of getting back to school and I am stalling already! I had yesterday off of work because of MLK day, but tonight I teach kiddos at the dance studio I work at so I don’t have quite as much time to get things done. I came across this video of Steve Harvey on Facebook today and felt like he had some…

This is one of my husband's and my favorite recipes, in fact I just made it last night. I love it because it is filling and healthy. I am not a fan of zucchini and this is one of the very few ways I'll eat it. This is from the "Whole foods for the whole family" cookbook. I'll put it like the book says rather than the…

Good morning all! I hope you are all having a good start to your week. I generally take a good hour or two to get myself moving in the morning; I am not a morning person, nor do I drink coffee! I will putz around on my computer for a while until I feel awake enough to eat and then get moving. Fortunately my kids are grown…

Karla- Happy Birthday! I hope you get to do at least one thing you really want to :) Myra- my goal this week is to LOG EVERYTHING I EAT It was a good church service today, a baptism service. Took grand daughter to her dad's after (as usual) and now am home alone; hubby has to work today for a while. I don't mind much,…

I'm sitting here with my granddaughter who is chattering away at something she drew; what a wonderful sound! I just have a quick minute before we go get ready for church. Vikki- I don't really know anything about your disease but I do know cardio gets excess mucous in the system moving...usually a good thing. I wonder if…

If we join this conversation can we do our own day count? Either way it looks like you have a great start

I am so happy to be here. MFP is so different from when I first started a few years ago and it has been hard to get reconnected. I am glad to find a community again and you all are great. I've not friend requested anyone because I don't want to be pushy, but if you friend request me I will certainly accept. I am happy…

This board is a little overwhelming to me right now....thank you all for the warm welcome. I will try to jump in and keep up with you all. I really like the interaction

"What should we call you? It sounds like you have fibromyalgia or some other form of auto-immune process. Have you ever tried following a diet plan for that disease. I know my hairdresser has fibro and Rheumatoid Arthritis and there are several foods she cannot eat, pork being the top of the list. She sticks to organic,…

Hello, I am Jeanette. My goal for next week (since it is already Friday) is to be consistent with tracking my food and drink....every day, every bite.

Do any of you do any juicing? I have tried to start doing it more because you get a lot of good nutrients and not as many calories. Here's one of my husband and my favorites 2 grapefruit 2 stalks of celery 1 carrot 1" fresh ginger root The recipe states that this is two servings but we usually drink it as one. If your…

thanks for the ideas. I usually cut my veggies fresh but I think it would be a good idea to get some bags of pre-cut ones for the freezer. Also I use quinoa primarily for breakfast (just cook it and eat it) or in tabouli salad...I like the idea of tossing it with some veggies and herbs (and the black beans!)

Hello, I am a little confused about the multiple boards, but this is the one I found so this is where I'll start to join this community at least. My name is Jeanette and I have been ill for almost a decade. I have not had any kind of diagnosis because no one can figure out what is truly wrong with me. The thing is that my…

Sounds like a good idea to me...I love supporting others and can definitely use the support myself :)

Are you saying you are eating the same thing every day? Your body would appreciate a change up! Try different types of veggies, proteins etc. It takes time to "get it" so don't be hard on yourself; keep at it and count it a victory each time you learn something new.

Not sure with all the debating going on with this post that you will see this, but I wanted to tell you there is hope! Whether others agree that sugar is addicting or not, I know it is for me and like other addictions, you need to stay away from it completely in order to kick the "habit". This is harder than it seems, you…

rubbing your eyes after cutting up jalepenos isn't so fun either

My girls and I all had issues with that (the girls both used to get such bad pain they'd throw up). We went to a naturopath who helped us each regulate our hormones. Took my oldest a couple of months and now no more pain (years later). I highly recommend it!

yeah, you are just getting rid of fat and gaining muscle at the same time...so for you to have stayed the same weight instead of gaining is a bonus!!!

don't really earn a living, just a little boost to help pay a bill or two...I am a dance instructor (which I do for free) and a Zumba instructor
-
I can't stand cottage cheese, the only way I can eat it is in lasagna or blended so the curds no longer exist...it is more of a texture thing for me.

think I'd like to just be on a team this time; can ya find me one? PS, so happy you decided to stick abound!

I adore Lucille Ball, I think she had it all, she was talented, funny and beautiful. The smallest she wore was a size 12. I completely agree with you, why would anyone purposely want to look like a refugee?

I think I'll leave that experiment to someone who is a little more naive:laugh:

Unfortunately spit...I am allergic to several things in smoked salmon Peanut butter and pickle sandwich

I weigh in once every 2 weeks, and sometimes I go longer. I try to go more by how I feel and how my clothes are fitting

could be water weight...PMS? I know some days I just feel bloated and my rings are tight...I don't weigh in on those days

I used to not like veggies, then I started eating them raw are realized I liked them! Salads are a great way to eat veggies, and there are so many types (with and without lettuce) My favorite way to eat cooked veggies is grilled, YUM! I agree that your best bet, if you are intent on cooking them, is to find a good website.…

I don't understand why you would continue to want to have anything to do with a man who treats you that way. I don't see any good in you telling her, it is not her fault he is such a creep. Do whatever you have to to get away from HIM and leave her alone, she will be miserable enough when she figures out what a ashbite he…

yeah the www.zumbacalories is a fairly decent estimate, depends on how much you get into it, though. I usually burn from 600-800 per class, I've burned more and I've burned less. I like to use my HRM to get a better idea of what I am really burning.
