Maria - too funny! I will let you know how the shout test goes :) Mrscarter - I don't know what SOA is, so I think you're good :). Jax is so cute!

Do you get a lunch break? I just go walk at lunch - now that its cooler I don't sweat too much and can just use baby wipes to freshen up after my walk. It's a great stress relief and way to stay active, even when you're nauseous or exhausted. Exercise doesn't have to mean gym exclusively! If you want to do other exercises,…

Thank you all for the input - we find ourselves comparing every name to Camden Jack, so I think that's a sign :). Hopefully everyone forgets about Kristen/Jay! And y'all reassured me about the rhyming too - it's not an exact rhyme, and he will probably go by Cam or Jack anyways. Many thanks!

Haha Jamie - my husband loves you now for the jay cutler comment!

I hope he's a little gentleman :) But thank you both for the thoughts on the celebrity part - hopefully people forget about them as time goes on and they won't make the connection! That makes me feel a bit better :) But now I'm wondering about the rhyming - is it THAT bad? Camden Jack Swanson? Camden Swanson? -en and…

Hahaha - too funny. But, that's exactly why so many other women made the association too. I just don't want to have a boy and name him Camden Jack and have a million people say "oh, like Kristen and Jay's little boy?" On the flip side - it sort of rhymes with our last name, Swanson. Camden Swanson. So, aside from possible…

We are already friends :) Just wanted to bump this, and also throw out that there's a TTC group on MFP which I was a part of, and it's a great group!!

All of mine happened weeks 7-13, with the biggest jump being weeks 7-9 (I gained 10lbs during those 3 weeks)

We told our parents at 5 weeks, grandparents/siblings/close friends at 8 (after our first doctor's appointment), my boss at 10, and everyone else/facebook at 12. I *wanted* to tell everyone immediately, as it's a hard secret to keep - but I'm glad I waited to make sure everything was okay!

Congrats on your little one! What about your lunchbreak at work? I often just walk during my lunchbreak, and now that the weather is changing it's so much nicer outside. Otherwise, exercise broken up throughout the day counts too - even if you do bodyweight exercises for 10 minutes in the morning, walk 15 minutes at lunch,…

I gained 12.3 in the first trimester...I've learned that it's important I *try* not to stress too much about the scale. I'm logging, eating healthily, working out daily, and the scale is going up - I'm 23 weeks and up 25lbs. I lost 40 before getting pregnant and am inching closer to my starting weight. The good part is…

I'm glad y'all liked it! I printed mine and posted it next to my computer at work because I'm always trying to look ahead and see how far along I'll be on X date :)

Do we have the same dog? My 90lb german shepherd acts exactly the same! He's almost 2 years old, so he's still a puppy - but always under foot, takes FOREVER to pick a spot to go to the bathroom, etc. He also always wants to sit in my lap while I'm on the couch - uhhh, you don't fit lil guy!

The only thing that has really bothered me throughout this pregnancy is the lack of acknowledgement from my husband's family. Since they live 12 hours away, I send ultrasound photos, belly pics, nursery pics, let them know when I have doc appts, etc - and 99.9% of the time I get no response. On occasion, my FIL or SIL will…

I just looked back at my weight gain per month - it's so crazy inconsistent!! May (weeks 2-6) +1.3 June (weeks 7-10) +8.2 July (weeks 11-14) +2 August (weeks 15-19) +9.6 September (weeks 20-23) +3.8 WHAT THE HECK?!?!?! I guess I will never understand how the pregnant body works :)

If you can stick to 1,200 calories for life to keep your weight off, then more power to you. When I was losing weight, I ate 2,400 per day (TDEE - 15-20%) and made great improvements in my fitness. I'm pregnant now, so I'm eating 2,600 since I'm much less active. I played with the numbers to find the highest number of…

Congratulations! Check out the group "Fit, Fabulous, and Pregnant" here on MFP - we are all working our way through pregnancy as healthily as possible :)

23 weeks and 25lbs...although, "just" 4lbs in September, so that's a big slow down for me on the weight gain! If I keep up the 1lb/week weight gain, I will be at 42lbs for the entire pregnancy. So, that's my motivation to keep eating healthier - a 42lb gain, haha.

I'm so sorry - prayers are with you and your family during this tough time :(

Hey mamas! I haven't checked in lately - I'm at 23 weeks now and moving right along. Getting ready for baby showers next month and trying to finish up the nursery (we're at the decorating phase now - painting/furniture are finished). I've slowed down the weight gain a bit recently by trying to make exercise a daily thing…

I'm not due in May, but saw this thread posted as the most recent and I am trying to avoid doing work today :) Anyways - wanted to weigh in on the doppler. I ordered a Sonoline B from fetaldoppler.net and I could hear my baby's heartbeat around 11 weeks. I went into it knowing I would need to stay patient in order to find…

I have no experience with law school or loans - but I do have experience with going with my gut. From what I know of you, your passion is fitness/exercise/health and helping others. I have never known of any passion with law (although, I know you throught a fitness web site, so that could be a reason why). Regardless - if…

^ agreed. Also, it's a sustainable calorie goal for life for me - I may have lost weight more slowly, but I'm more likely to keep it off by having eaten more along the way.

5'6 and before I was pregnant, I ate 2400-3000 per day, depending on how much exercise. I lost 40 pounds prior to getting pregnant.

one of my friends swore by drinking a glass of milk during the night - not letting her stomach get completely empty helped her to not be as sick. didn't work for me, though :)

You and I are twins - I am 21 weeks, started at 207, and am 232 now. So, I completely understand where you are coming from regarding weight gain and concern for your little one! My weight gain slowed a bit once I really got back to logging and watching what I'm eating. I make sure to exercise at least 30 minutes/day, and…

15 weeks pretty early to feel the baby move :) I felt my first movement last week during week 20, and it's definitely not consistent. I have an anterior placenta, so my husband can't feel the baby from the outside. I got a doppler early on to help ease my nerves between appointments, and I can hear the baby's heart beat…

I'm 21 weeks and up 20.8lbs so far on the doctor's scale and 22.6lbs on my home scale...I've *only* gained 2lbs in September so far, which is a slow-down from previous weight gain (WOOHOOO!). Never pictured myself being so excited to only gain 1 pound per week, hahaha :) I think what has made a difference is that I've been…

My doctor advised me to eat at maintenance for the first trimester and then to add 200-300 calories in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Congratulations on your pregnancy :)
