Thanks everyone for the advice :) My husband agreed with the plan I suggested - now let's see if he can keep his kahunas when letting his family know. He has trouble standing up to his mom and sister, so we'll see. All I know is that I'm not saying a word :)

I appreciate all of your input!! I'm thinking I may talk to my husband about having my family here for the first week, and if his family wants to come down for the birth, they can (if they can make it in time), and then come back for a more extended trip at a later date. In the meantime, we can use skype and facetime for…

I've had some groin pain for the last 4-5 days, but nothing I would classify as horrible. I just literally woke up with mine and am assuming that it's part of my hips shifting to prepare for baby. How far along are you? I'm sorry you are in pain, but like the pp said, you may want to check with your doctor if it keeps up!

started my 3rd trimester this week and I'm up 25lbs. I gained 12 total in the first trimester and 13 in the second (10 of those pounds being in August!). goal = under 40lbs, but I guess we'll see what happens!

jls - I'm impressed with the organization!!! But with family being so far away, I can see why y'all needed to do that. Plus, if they have to buy plane tickets you don't want them to fly in the week BEFORE the baby is born, so later is better! Thank you for sharing! Sounds like y'all have a good plan of staggered visits so…

ditto on the meat!!!!!!

I made this tonight...sounds gross, but it was awesome... Mix together 1/2 cup mayo and 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese. Spread over 4 chicken breasts and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake 20 minutes at 425.

Milk, chocolate, ice cream...basically anything with sugar and dairy mixed together. Yikes!

We are both taking the day off next Friday and *may* head somewhere close for a night or two, just to get away. Nothing fancy by any means - I'm 26 weeks currently, btw, so I think it's a great time to go bc I'm still feeling pretty well and I'm not huge!!

It's the "stupid stuff" that gets us the most upset, honestly. At least you recognize it's probably the hormones affecting you! I have to stop and do that sometimes - am I REALLY upset about this, or is this hormones? I'm so sorry you're so frustrated and people around you are being a bit difficult at the moment. I think…

Who knows - it was one of my mom's friends who asked. I just tried to conceal my embarrassment because I really didn't know what to do!!! Glad I'm not the only one who thought that was a bit inappropriate...

Faughorn - I'm sorry things aren't going as planned, but I can't wait to see pictures of your little one :) Not much longer at all!

I think they're great to use for a particular set after having warmed up properly, but I wouldn't use any equipment for an extended period if time during the workout to help avoid overuse injuries. Good luck on your half ironman training!

I'm 26 weeks and eat 2600 plus exercise calories if I'm hungry. I gained most of my weight early and it has since tapered off, so I think 2600 is good for me for now. I'm about 24lbs up at this point.
-
Pepper - congratulations! And thank you for checking in and making my day :) I'm 26 weeks and up 24 pounds! By the way - at my shower this last weekend, we played a game where people asked my husband and I questions and we both secretly answered. People asked things like "how many times did Emily pee during the night last…

Hello everyone :) I welcomed myself into the 3rd trimester this morning with a 2 hour glucose test. WOOHOO! Praying I pass (I failed the 1 hour with a 134...dang). Glad to be here with y'all in the last leg of our pregnancies!

This was me at this time last year! I started at 239, got down to 201 and plateaued for about 6 months. Ultimately, I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to lose weight prior to getting pregnant, which made it a bit harder for me. So, my husband and I decided to go ahead and TTC and we're currently 26 weeks along. I…

Just saw your post - what did they say at the ER? Will definitely be praying for you and your little one!

I'm 6 months pregnant, which is essentially constant TOM cravings. I just set aside a certain number of calories (10%-15%) to eat whatever the hell I want, but I know that I have to stop at that. So, since I'm eating 2,600-3,000 calories per day, I give myself 300 to eat anything I want - reese's pumpkin, little debbie, 1…

Ditto on the Lindsay Brin DVDs - I got mine at Target for maybe $12? It's 4 DVDs - one for each trimester plus a bootcamp after baby is here. I also like the Summer Sander's DVD - I'll do the express workout (includes a little strength training and some exercises with bands like squats, etc) and then walk for half an hour…

My husband has gained 10-15lbs since I got pregnant - I'm partly to blame, honestly. I will say I really want a frosty, and we'll go get a medium frosty and I'll have a few bites, then hand the rest to him. He started back with MFP last week and has been great with his logging - his BP was high at his last doctor's appt…

Good call - this is the one we got: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12319179&cagpspn=pla&pla=plab The bottom can be up high when baby is smaller, and lower when they grow more. The little napper puts them upright a little bit and can flip to the other side (slick side) for changing.

You are beautiful! Wonderful progress :)

I started gaining in week 5 - around week 7 my weight shot up and I gained pretty irregularly through week 19 (2lbs one month, 10 the next). Since then, it seems to have stabilized (4-5lbs since August, a normal weight gain rate) and I'm 24 weeks.

My insurance had it listed specifically in the benefits plan for 2013 - it's not effective until January, but I think there are a number of insurance companies giving some benefits now

I bought a medela double electric freestyle for this baby! Check with your insurance company - I know mine covers Ameda pumps if you purchase from CVS specifically.

I was in the middle of Insanity when I got pregnant, and I chose to focus on other workouts because I didn't have the energy any longer for it. If you have the energy, just modify so you aren't doing the jumps and try to keep your HR from getting too high! Congratulations!

I'm asking about the flu shot at my OBGYN appt next week, but intend to get it (so long as she agrees). I had the Tdap in 2010, so I should still be good there. I am UTD on all shots as I've traveled outside the country a few times in the last few years and got about a trillion vaccines, haha!
-
Jules - my prayers are with you and your family today.

Thank you all for the advice - she mentioned that everyone she has told keeps ignoring their loss and its like an elephant in the room, so I guess I was hoping to accomplish with my written words what I couldn't with my spoken ones yesterday. Just wanted her to know I'm praying for them and am here for her if she wants to…
