Depends on the restaurant...check the website for nutritional info. I always do (if possible) before I go...soooo helpful. What you think would be a good choice really isn't!

Hmmm...100 seems a little low. I walked yesterday for about an hour (roughly 3 miles) and my Polar said I burned about 265. The terrain was a little hilly but I for sure was not pushing myself hard--I'm a little less than 10lbs heavier and I know that can make a difference. You might want to consider a better calorie…

Got my Polar FT7 on eBay just recently for around $85 (with shipping). LOVE IT! So glad I got it and the price was the best I found.

Not sure how you feel about a dress (some ladies are particular) but you could try a resale or consignment shop--I'd research a good tailor too. Might sound kind of cheesy and not sure when the date is but you could check prom type fashions that are available in white/off white. Check out the local tux shops...sometimes if…

Try www.kraftfoods.com. You don't need to register to look at or print the recipes. Also each recipe provided by Kraft has a nutritional breakdown and reviews from members. They have a healthy living section which is nice too! I like this site because I'm not going to spend $$ on off the wall ingredients and all seem to be…

I really like my Polar HRM. MFP and my elliptical were overestimating my calories burned so I was happy to get something a little more accurate. You do burn more calories at a higher intensity however you burn more fat calories in the target fat burning zone. This article does a pretty good job of explaining what I mean.…

I've had a bad couple of weekends myself...graduation parties, etc. It is going to happen so I don't beat myself up about it any more and keep plugging away. It takes a little more will power to get back on track but it is worth it. I do know that if/when I really deny myself being healthier doesn't last--and I'm downright…

I hear ya! A friend shared with me some info on aspartame so I've just started to kick the diet pop but the stuff is in EVERYTHING! Crystal light, sugar free fat free pudding, and even my light & fit yogurt! Ugh!

I have a friend who just got the BodybBugg and really likes it. She searched for coupons online and was able to get the price down some. Otherwise I'm not familiar with any type of armband. If you are just looking for calories burned have you considered a heart rate monitor?

I like Oikos. I've also just tried Dannon greek yogurt and it is pretty good (pleasantly surprised) and thick. They have several flavors...perhaps it may be more common.

I'm feeling the same. I try to run/jog outside later in the evening but that isn't always convenient or cool enough. First thing in the am isn't possible. I do my elliptical and some dvd's inside but just starting running and really love it. I'm considering selling the elliptical and putting that $$ towards a treadmill for…

I've gone from "I only get THAT much," to "Wow, I get THAT much!" Logging in daily has also helped so much. It for sure makes me more accountable for the food choices I'm making.

It is difficult when it seems like the amount of effort you are putting in does not equal the results you see. I always try to keep in mind the changes inside your body that can't be measured on a scale or with a tape. I think you've done a fantastic job and will continue to do so! I'm willing to bet your granddaughter…

My old standby is oatmeal with some fresh fruit (banana, berry, or whatever), half an ounce of walnuts and perhaps a bit of splenda brown sugar blend if needed. The walnuts usually put me closer to 300 but I am 100% satisfied and am happy to get a bit of healthy fat from the nuts. I love fudgesicles. They are pretty low…

Some crystal light mixed with fat free vanilla or plain yogurt (mixed to taste) makes a nice little fruit dip. Make a little for yourself or alot for a summer party.

I like my polar ft7 (around $85 on ebay) but I've read good things about the polar F6 too which is a little less.

Nope...not alone  Depends on how bad my cravings are. If I just want a little something I may chew gum or have a diet pop or my diet mocha (2TBL fat free cocoa, 1tsp regular creamer, 2 tsp coffee and hot water)--this seems to fill me up a bit and curb the chocolate craving all for 30 calories. If the cravings are…

My biggest motivator is how much more energy I have now. A friend recently talked me into my first 5K. It was a ton of fun and at the end of it I was really proud of myself. It certainly wasn't anything I would have done before...let alone being able to finish. I'm already scouting for my next race

I have an elliptical at home and when I started all this I LOVED all the calories it said I burned. Recently, I bought a Polar FT7 HRM and WHOA was it way off! I know nothing is going to be 100% accurate but I trust the HRM hands down way more than my machine. It (my machine) might say I burned 700 calories whereas the HRM…

Congratulations on taking the first step...remember not be too hard on yourself. None of us got to this point overnight so it is a process to retrain your body and mind. Try to look at this as an opportunity to teach the 6 year old and your parents healthy ways to snack...lead by example. I have a 4 year old at home and my…

I'm kind of at a stand still as far as weight loss and am interested in this idea. MFP has me eating 1240 cals per day and I do eat all those plus half or more of my exercise calories. I'm curious about the calorie amounts freedieting.com gives. Are those amounts net? Meaning that is where I should be after eating back my…

Good for you! Celebrate the little victories too!

I've tried it and enjoyed it. I know the sodium is high but I'm happy to have a filling and fairly decent option if I'm just running around or get held up at an appointment or whatever. I'm trying to just skip the fast food in general but I need to be able to walk into a restaurant/fast food place and not throw in the…

I'm not a huge beer drinker but I do like Michelob Ultra (95 calories).

Same here. My husband is very supportive. He won't excercise with me at all. He has a very physical job (construction type) so my goal was to get him on board with the diet aspect. So after about 2 months of me being on MFP we set up an account for him too. We've put his goal in with NO excercise. It's only been a few days…

I feel your pain. I had the same issue when I got my Polar FT7 a few weeks ago. The bonus is since I started using it I'm no longer losing less than a pound each week! So, I guess it has an upside although I'm still disgusted with the readout on my elliptical

It's my indulgence...ask for it iced and the calories go down!

I use olive oil too. I've also purchased the Pam spray with olive oil to help. I generally try to stay at or under everything with the exception of fiber and protein. I usually go over on my fiber but try to drink lots of water to counter ill effects and I always go over on protein. Going over a little with protein is…

We coupon here too. I like the CouponMom website (free). I used to do generic and sometimes still do but a local store will double up to $1.00 and many items I get for nothing or for less than 50 cents. Planning is key and sticking to your list is a must. I find saving with the coupons helps me to buy items that don't…

I do count the creamer but do not count any marinade or olive oil when doing veggies (or whatever) either. I'm also guilty of not counting a "nibble/taste" from my husband or son's whatever. I was a very bad snacker so I try to keep very strict on not doing this but when I do take a taste I don't count it....as long as it…
