  • Sounds and looks great! Where do you buy Shiritaki noodles? I have not found them in my grocery store. Is there an online source you know of? Thanks!
  • Hi and welcome! I feel the same way about logging. Before I started logging my meals on MFP I really had no idea how many calories I was eating. I also wasn't exercising and used an old hip injury that flared up regularly as my excuse. Now that I have been exercising regularly my hip has actually improved. After…

  • Yum! I've got almost the same thing in my crock pot right now, lol! I have pork tenderloins instead of ribs and only a couple different ingredients and am really looking forward to dinner.
  • When I don't feel like eating eggs I make a flaxseed muffin (Atkins' Muffin In A Minute) and top it with a little peanut butter or cream cheese, or if I have more time I make flaxmeal pancakes. Here is the website for recipes: http://www.atkins.com/Program/Phase1/WhatYouCanEatinthisPhase/AllAboutMIMs.aspx. You can also…
  • Someone on the Atkins Support thread posted this website: http://blog.yourlighterside.com/p/eats-recipes.html. I went there and it has a lot of awesome recipes! I had already seen pizza crust from cauliflower or zucchini other places, but this one has easy directions to make chips similar to the pizza crust! I can't wait…
  • This sounds great! I bought pork rinds but dislike eating them our of the bag, they just don't taste good to me... or maybe it's the smell... either way they are sitting there on my shelf and I paid for them dammit so I wanna use them up!
  • That's great! Keep up whatever it is you're doing that works, the payoff is so worth it!
  • Hahahahahaha! OMG too funny!
  • You can manually set the percentages in your settings: My Home - Goals - Change Goals - Custom You can also choose what nutrients you want to track and rearrange your columns -- I moved fiber to be next to carbohydrates to make it easier to see both numbers since I subtract fiber to get the Net Carbs.
  • Wow! Congratulations, you look great! Keep up your exercising and healthy eating and you will have a great year at school!
  • Hi Tish, welcome to MFP! I too love logging my food items because it keeps me on track. When I started I realized I had absolutely no idea how many calories i was eating because I didn't know what was in the things I ate. Now I pay more attention and make healthier choices and am exercising more. Some days it's hard to…
  • LOL! Oops, I didn't see your post! :)
  • I snack on pepperoni (regular or turkey) and cheese, but I limit my cheese intake to only 1 to 1 1/2 oz per day. Also a good snack is celery sticks with either cream cheese or peanut butter on them. And to get more veggies in my diet I love broccoli crowns dipped in whatever flavor sour cream dip I have for the week. And I…
  • Nice to have another pro-low-carb thread! Great recipe website! Thanks for posting!
  • Wow, congratulations to you and your husband too! You both look great and so happy! And happy and healthy birthday to you! I hope to be where you are next summer! Thanks for the inspiration.
  • Geez, I look away for a couple of days and then I have to search for the new thread, lol! I had a cheat day at the fair on Sunday (potato pancakes with applesauce AND also soft-serve chocolate ice cream) and then regular spaghetti & meatballs at my mom's for dinner. It almost wasn't worth it because I worried about eating…
  • I am having a similar issue right now... I've been on Atkins since the 1st week of August... had my TOM Aug 28th - Sept 3rd and then got it again a week later - this past Tuesday and I still have it, in fact it got heavy. I called my doctor's office yesterday and they didn't think it was worrisome except the slim…
  • Wow, what an accomplishment! You look amazing!! You have motivated me to get up right this minute and do my P90 video! Thank you!
  • LOL, thanks for mentioning the vitamins! I keep forgetting mine too and I'm going to go take them RIGHT NOW! :)
  • Some people do lose muscle mass when they diet and lose weight. These people are not eating enough healthy food for the body to use as fuel so it starts consuming the stored muscle and saving the fat as emergency fuel. Eating too many calories is bad and eating too few calories is also bad. If you eat plenty of healthy…
  • Yes! It is hard to go back after a long break. When I started going this year I had to keep telling myself it was okay that I couldn't do as much as what I used to do back when I was in shape. :) Just do what you can, keep going and you will improve day by day. You can do it and it's worth it! :)
  • If you don't have much knowledge/experience in aerobics and using free weights you should definitely start with standard exercise videos to learn proper form so you don't hurt yourself accidentally. You will get better results more quickly if you combine the aerobics with weight training. Many videos these days combine…
  • Hi folks. I've been eating the Atkins way for over a month now and I often feel very tired lately. I had stopped exercising (something I didn't want to do) but I knew I would lose weight anyway and I mostly have been. But the point to the exercise is muscle toning and getting doses of endorphins, etc. So I forced myself to…
  • Congratulations! Great job!
  • Nope, i received quite the opposite - I was denied health insurance coverage by one of the large well known companies. I was self employed at the time and seeking to get insured on my own. I was/am generally healthy even with the extra weight but was concerned about "what if" scenarios. Another less well known company…
  • I think you should try using circuit training videos as your cardio portion of your workouts. That is, people seem to get good results from any of the Beachbody workouts - Power 90 (P90), (P90X, updated version), or I've also heard great things about Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred. The videos combine aerobics with power…
  • I have not heard of this "fiber fad" but it sounds questionable. I think you would be better off just eating larger amounts of fiber rich vegetables which should fill you up without a high calorie count. Also, consider eating more frequently. Just alter the amount consumed at each sitting to equal your recommended calorie…

  • I totally agree with you! Healthy eating of whole foods should be our lifestyle, not a diet. Getting regular exercise of all kinds, cardio and weight lifting for strong muscles should be a joy, not something you grudgingly do because you want to lose weight. Exercising keeps both your mind and your body fit. To those who…
  • Oooooh, making me nostalgic for Colorado! I lived in Loveland for a while for my job (worked on construction of the Promenade Shops at Centerra) then lived in Denver while working on Northfield at Stapleton. I absolutely loved it there! The mountains are so beautiful. :)
  • The MIM is awesome. Because Net carbs are what matter (Carbs - Fiber = Net) and flaxmeal starts out low carb and has lots of fiber its like the perfect food. It is so flexible - flavor it however you like, you are only limited by your own imagination. I had one for breakfast with some re-hydrated onion flakes (this adds a…
