No. It won't help her to learn good exercise and eating habits, which she may need to keep the weight off. It will also rob her of the joy which is the result of embarking on your own weight loss journey. They could pair her up with a good nutritionist and exercise physiologist who can tailor a program for her needs. All…

I think 50-60 hours a week (shifts might be 8:30-6, 9-8 etc.) is the norm in corporate on the East Coast, with some people working much longer than that. 40 seems a rarity to me.

I try to weigh in every Saturday morning, before I eat and after I've used the toilet. I usually weigh myself while I am still in my jammies, so that the extra pounds from clothing are consistent. If my weight changes, I log it. If not, I won't. I do the same thing with measurements. I won't measure if I've eaten because…

I noticed this too. I don' t know how fast you are losing, but it may take a bit for your skin to catch up.

This reminds me of the gas I had at work yesterday. LOL. It made me reconsider bringing mini pizza for lunch. As far as Kashi, sometimes my stomach is sensitive to it. I prefer oatmeal. It has enough fiber and is gentler.

I don't want to spend time on looking all cutsie and polished for the gym. I would not want to look like I rolled out of bed though, so would probably brush my hair and put it up in a neat ponytail. I'd also make sure I grabbed something that fit and was comfortable and appropriate for the gym. For now, I remain gymless…

You may have made a difference in that woman's life -- for the better. And, I think you did it tactfully, too.

<-- People still friended me. :-)

You have a pretty shape! Keep up the good work!! :-)

I guess I can't edit if I wait too long. :-) I just got back from doing Week 4. Things came up, so yesterday didn't work out as planned. This is my critique of Day 1: My legs hurt! I had thoughts of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred about 2/3 through...and some faint memory of Jillian saying that you just have to keep going…

Toned: Muscles are not flabby. Buff: Muscles are defined. Bodybuilder: Like the bottom pic above.

Use a touch of olive oil. I love real butter. Nothing beats the taste. And, I don't have to use all that much either. However, I am hesitant to use it for frying, because I tend to burn it.

I have doubled my weeks up, too. I run at least 6 or 7 days before moving to the next level. My strategy is to move on when the level I am on starts to feel easy to me. By then, I am bored with the routine anyway. If I rush, I will hate running again, however, this strategy seems to keep me looking forward to it.

I should be starting week 4 today. I can't wait! I will edit this post later to tell you how it went. :-)

If you can run on a good track, that will be a little easier. Also, how are your shoes? If they are getting worn out, that will affect your running, too. You can always go back to week 3 for a couple of days and then retry week 4. It could be that your body is not ready for it yet.

I hate running. I love c25k! There is a group for this. Please join us. :-) Edit: Here's the link for the group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/30-couch-to-5k-running-program-c25k

Tea -- there are some great herbal teas out there that don't require sugar to taste great. Iced black tea is also great. (Make sure you get a good brand though.) You can substitute sugar with agave syrup or honey, if you still want sweetness. You won't have to use as much. Honey has some excellent health benefits to it…

Make small changes every week. Build on your successes and try not to wallow in your failures. Do cry but keep moving! You'll get there eventually. These things take time. You can do it!

These things are as bad as oreo cookies. I can eat eight before I know what I've done.

Sip the seltzer or drink some water to keep you feeling fuller than you really are. (I will try to tell that to myself later!)

Remembering my birthday with a candle in a muffin, when I was flat out on my back, sick and weak.

What about the plants that get killed, because we pull them up by the roots to eat them? Or the plants that are killed so that others may grow? Seriously, in order for a living organism to survive, it needs to eat other living organisms. You can, however, limit the suffering of the creature you intend to eat, and maybe not…

I thought stress was the number one killer. :-)

I love the cushioning! It's a bounce in my step that ordinary shoes do not have. Makes running easier.

I had some ankle pain. Tightening my laces up completely (not just at the bow) helped a lot.

W3D1 was a bit of a shocker for me, too. It was so much harder than doing the shorter intervals. W3D2 was better. The first interval went more smoothly, and the last one seemed easier. I will do W3D3 today. I expect the 3 min. runs to start feeling like 90 second ones. I do expect to be on this week for at least a couple…
