That is AWESOME! What a great story for those people who are stuck to their scales! It's about feeling great people!!!

I LOVE this recipe! And talk about FILLING! http://www.theyummylife.com/Refrigerator_Oatmeal I tweaked though: 1/4 cup steel cut oats 2 tbls chia seeds fill mason jar to 1.5" from the top of the jar with almond milk 2 tbls peanut butter (natural- not that jiffy crap) Mix in advance. Heat in the microwave for 1.5 mins Add…

your breakfasts look really light to me. I tend to average around 300 calories. I would also try tracking sugar. Too much sugar in the morning for me without fiber or protein to balance it and I'm cooked. All that said, I'm certainly no expert, but I'm also on a drug that has a side effect of "hunger"- they administer it…

ME ME ME- looking for gardener friends!!!

I quit drinking them about 2 months ago and had 1 a week or so ago. It tasted downright vile. The chemical taste was just overwhelming. That can't be good for your body. Switch to seltzer! with a splash of OJ. SO GOOD.

I'm in NH- coming into prime eating from the garden time. I'm by no means an expert, but I have 2 large gardens and from about june through December, our vegetables come almost exclusively from our gardens. Today, we're having a salad from the garden for lunch and yesterday I made grilled cheese with greens in the…

I love this. Need to remember...

We ARE our own worst critics. I think for me, I had an image of myself frozen in time when I was skinny and even though I'm much larger, I've fooled myself into thinking I'm not that big, so I imagine that I'm not going to see the difference either... although my damned pants keep falling down. :P

I do a lot of gardening and hiking, so I'm always under on the weekends. Maybe find something active to do with someone in the mornings so that you've set yourself up for success? Good luck.

I'm an avid gardener. (Just finished planting about 60 ft of brassicas.) Please feel free to friend me if you'd like some advice. Basil, parsley, cilantro all do really well in pots. The biggest challenge I have found is keeping them moist. Mint will do well anywhere.

I had this same thing happen to me. I've decided that I'm going to ignore the scale for the remaining 6 weeks that I have of this drug called Megace. It SUCKS. I'm just going to use the tape measure and how I FEEL every day. (that is- better and better!) I have no more back pain. I feel strong. I can accomplish more during…

i have the same problem- one eye worse than the other- I think it's sinus/ allergy related for me, although i'm looking forward to trying teabags and such! The nettipot helps for me.

I have the same problem- only on ellipticals. I can run/ bike/ walk/ hike and not have that problem in the same shoes. it's ONLY elliptical for me.

Every 3-4 lbs, I seem to be buying myself new exercise gear.... it keeps me motivated and more efficient at working out. 10 lbs= pedicure and massage 20 lbs= laser hair removal device (an end to shaving and/or waxing?? YES please!) final goal= weekend trip with my love (location to do determined depending on time of year…

I'd suggest some strengthening workouts. I use "pop pilates" on youtube. She's a little perky for my taste, but it kicks my butt and mixes up my routine a bit. And it's free. :) Also, buy yourself some free weights.

I agree. I wouldn't stress. The way my body seems to work, I don't lose anything initially for more than a week at a time and then I'll magically drop 2-3 lbs. You MUST be building muscle. You'll see results.
-
LOL!
-
oops- 6 eggs, not 4.
-
You aren't kidding. My pasta rolling muscles are still killing me. I used navy beans, but I think any white bean would work.
-
excellent! Thanks for the advice!
-
YUM- I'll be right over!

Wow- I can't believe the horrible things we humans say to each other. Mine was that I was found to have pre-cancerous cells of the endometrium. Odds of it turning into cancer are much higher when over the normal BMI range. :(

If your eggs have an odor, they are probably not fresh. If you're in a rural area, try to find someone who raises chickens. This time of year, they will have more than they know what to do with... and you might be able to find a way to barter for eggs. :) Quinoa is great- try to find it in bulk bins though. You pay extra…

Thanks ladies! By the way, I hate both c words too. :)

I'm a huge fan of homemade sauerkraut. I also like the warmed caraway cabbage with cranberries recipe from the Mayo Clinic/ William Sonoma cookbook... so good. shred cabbage, a couple of carrots, onion, and a tart apple like granny smith. sautee onion in olive oil, add cabbage, carrots, and apple. Throw in some caraway…
