Sounds like boredom/loneliness eating. I'd switch up my schedule if I were you. Could you work out while he's away? If you have kids, maybe figure out something active to do with them. Otherwise, get an exercise buddy and most importantly get out of your house (away from your fridge!) Good luck! I have struggled with this…

I find the phrase offensive for two reasons. First, because it contains the f word. Secondly, because it implies promiscuity and extra-marital sex. That said, I am a mom who wants to be thin and attractive for my husband. There is nothing wrong with being sexy!

Six weeks ago I starting working out 6x/week. After 3 weeks, I had gained 2 lbs. Then I got on mfp and started counting calories. I've been gradually losing ever since. I'll weigh later today and you can all see how much. Anyway, here's my newbie theory...when I was busting my butt every day working out I felt hungry, so I…

The best thing that I ate while nursing was cereal. If you want to get the fat, you can use whole milk, but I think skim would be fine too. And if you aren't hungry, call it a night! Your body will tell you if you need to eat. Just make sure you are getting plenty of water.

On my 18th birthday, a freshman in college, I walked into a lounge and saw a guy playing on a chess computer. Played a game then and about 30 more over the course of a year. Five years later, we met again, this time in the cafeteria. I had taken two years off to do a church mission and was back for my senior year. He had…

You've made so much progress! Don't get upset about 2 measly pounds! If you have slipped up and ate to much, forgive yourself and move on. You'll lose those 2 lbs again easily. If you haven't been drinking enough water, or its TOM, or two much salt, etc. Forget it! Drink your water and know that those two lbs will be gone…

I totally agree! It is pretty tough to stay within my calorie goal if I don't exercise. I also agree with people that have said you need to eat most, but not necessarily all of your calories back. Don't starve yourself, but it is okay to be under goal sometimes.

Thanks Billsica, for looking that up! I should have thought of that!

No, Tiger, I've never taken a fiber supplement. I'm wondering if someone has actually tried this product and can tell me what it tastes like and what kind of results they have seen. I was thinking it would be good for times that I'm still hungry but already close to my calorie goal. If eating some of this pasta with…

I've been doing cardio almost daily for about a month. Last night, my husband and I were walking somewhere in a hurry. He had trouble keeping up with me! Amazing, since he is 6'4 and walks super fast most of the time!

Measure! Especially on high calorie, small portion foods like salad dressing. I don't always measure everything, but at least to start out measure. For instance, I measured some milk recently before pouring it into a regular glass, so now I know how much is 1/2 cup or 1 cup in that shape glass.

Loretta, Wow. You've faced so much adversity, but you have a great attitude! Continue to trust in God like that, and He will help you make it through! Constructive criticism: typing in all caps is hard to read. And it can be considered rude (like screaming).

Eventually there will be a database, but the note you get when you submit a recipe says: "We are currently accepting submissions to the MyFitnessPal recipe database. Once we receive enough submissions, we'll create a recipe section where users can browse recipes submitted by other members. To submit your recipe to the…

I have no clue. I honestly have never paid any attention to celebrities bodies (well, women's anyway!). So I'm going to echo some others that have same I want mine but lighter. In fact, I want the body that I had when I was 22. I was 5'7" (still am, duh!) and 155lbs. To get there, I've got 97 more lbs to lose!

I'm assuming the OP knows how to put in different amounts, but is getting stuck because of the 5% increments that mfp does. Given the calorie count she needs, the best I was able to come up with was: 1100 calories 15% 41g carbs 35% 96 g protein 50% 61 g fat Because of the 5% increment, you'd have to put 1200 calories in to…

I fast the first Sunday of every month. As a family, my husband and I try to have a specific purpose for our monthly fast. For example, our local church leaders recently asked us to fast for a family in the area that was struggling. We always begin our fast with prayer and end with prayer. Whenever I feel hungry, I take a…

Is he possibly overestimating his activity level? And does he use a measuring cup or scale to accurately measure or weigh his portions? Just a couple thoughts, maybe someone else has more useful advice!

I want to understand this too!

I was about to post a new topic myself when I was this. I fast once a month for religious reasons. I chuckled when I got a note from myfitnesspal that I needed to consume at least 1,200 calories each day. My question is slightly different, but maybe someone can help me out. Given that I will certainly continue to fast…

I've been doing Zumba classes for about a month. I do Zumba Gold (for beginners) 2x/week and regular Zumba 3x. Zumba Gold has gotten pretty easy, but it is still more fun than other workout options. What exactly is the challenge here? Just keep doing Zumba for a month? If so, I'm in!

I have hypothyroidism, and I'm having a very difficult time with weight loss at the moment. I've been overweight most of my life with the exception of about a year that I was a full-time missionary in the Philippines. What worked for me then was walking several miles each day, and eating the native foods. That included a…

It has fewer calories than skim milk and I think it tastes way better. For me, the only negative is that it costs about twice as much. :(

The YMCA here has babysitting from 8 to 10:30 a.m. right now, so I take advantage of the fitness classes offered during that time. When that doesn't work out, I usually just do an extra stroller ride for him. I've been thinking about doing Yoga during his nap, but so far I think I still need the class.

My little boy is 16 months now. I lost weight slowly while nursing without even really trying. If you want to safely lose weight while nursing you should definitely talk to your doctor. For me, along with drinking lots of water, I felt like eating healthy cereals was good for keeping my milk supply up. But the most…

You must have built some serious muscles! That's awesome! I have been working out for just over one month and so far have GAINED 2 pounds. I haven't seen a difference in my clothes yet either, but I carried my son today on a walk. I felt so much better than I did last summer, even though he is heavier now. I am stronger…

It may be helpful to talk to the instructor before your first class. Let him/her know about your injury and ask if their are specific moves that you should skip or adapt. Also, see if there is a Zumba Gold class offered. It is designed for newcomers to Zumba as well as for active older adults. The Gold class typically will…
