Try eating breakfast in the morning and see if that helps you stay alert for the rest of the day.

When you're too tired to go to the gym. Don't! Just go do something else that doesn't involve food... reading a book, shopping (for clothes/perfume/make up etc, not food! lol), enjoy a diet soda... Make that time for your hobbies... it will burn you calories although not as much as going to the gym would but.. it's…

I lose my motivation when it comes to food that is difficult to calculate calories for such as entrees at American-Japanese and -American-Chinese restaurants. I love eating at those places but I never know how much I am eating because information on the internet is limited and there are a lot of ingredients used such as…

I think comedians have an appreciation for irony. I just think the Fat Head guy thinks the documentary "Super Size Me" is ridiculous. He has some points. I do think that some of his other claims are questionable such as his claim of vegetarians influencing the government food pyramid, and his claim that cholesterol and…

Meaning that a person who consumes 800 calories will lose more weight than the one who consumes 1200 calories, but will lose proportionately less weight. This article explains it better: http://www.weightwatchers.com/templates/print.aspx?PageId=1211021&PrintFlag=yes&previewDate=1/4/2011 Restricting calories during weight…

You lost back fat. Always a good thing to lose, lol

Good post. The reason people believe the Starvation Diet myth is because of diminishing returns in weight loss. The more you lower your calorie consumption, the slower your metabolism will be, and the less efficient your body will be at burning fat. That doesn't mean a person doesn't lose more weight on a 800cal/a day diet…

Well, it's your personal anecdotal evidence vs my own. I can't dispute that eating before bed time hinders your weight loss. I say do what works for you, only you and the topic starter will know if it does. For me, it has not made a difference and I have read that the eating before bedtime thing is a myth. It seems…

Eating close to bed time hindering weight loss is a myth. As long as you meet your calorie requirements in that 24 hr period you are fine. I eat a 100-calorie bag of popcorn, a piece of fruit, or a cup of yogurt before I go to bed. In fact...I HAVE TO or I wake up in the middle of the night starving. If I eat past midnight…

lol I tried 30 day shred but it absolutely kicked my a**. I know its a popular workout DVD, but I get too sore to do it everyday... Everytime I do it, I am sore for 3 days and cant play tennis, which is my passion. I wish I had Wii Fit... maybe I will buy it with my financial aid lol

Yes. I am afraid that I might starting eating like crazy from all the stress. I am hoping I can stay disciplined. Congrats on getting a job as student ambassador, that sounds really exciting. Good luck! I am sure you can juggle all of your responsibilities AND continue to lose weight! :) I have realized now that I am…

lol, I have to walk up a massive hill just to get to class which is a workout in itself. The students are nicknamed the "hilltoppers", that is how infamous my university's hill is! But I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I won't be tempted to go on snacking binges to relieve stress from having too much course work! lol

My university includes the gym in the price of full-time tuition.... lol, well I do live in KY, everything is cheap here.

Yes, yes, and hopefully. =P I've been so bored this summer...

I have always had slightly saggy boobs from the time I was a young teenager. I recently started taking birth control and my boobs filled out and now look better. Exercise has also helped because it makes the surrounding chest area fuller looking (due to muscle tone)... It use to be flat with two saggers pinned on but the…

I think 2 cookies is the perfect serving when enjoying cookies. I agree, one isn't enough. lol Welcome to mfp!

The important thing is to never give up.... When I have an off week, I looked back at all the days where I ate healthier and stayed under my calorie limit and know that it was better than if I had just eaten everything, and that is when I decide to start again because I know that I never want to be like that. Eating…

Yes. You can eat before going to bed as long as you have the allotted calories. In fact, I have to or I will wake up hungry in the middle of the night!
-
Welcome back! I hope you had a fun week.

Good post. It is very encouraging. Yes... I just need to keep up with my appointments and keep at it and not get so easily discouraged.... lol, that was easier to type than to do. I guess I should just suck it up and go in for my blood work. The first time the lab worker that took my blood made fun of me for looking away…

Wow. You look like a different guy now!

If I am very depressed and having a hard time coming under my calorie goal (only an issue when i get depressed, thankfully)... I change to maintenance calories until I am out of the funk. I don't necessarily eat all of the maintenance calories either, but have it set to that in case I go over my diet calories... seeing a…

Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately the cofee and tea idea is out because this place only serves soda pop, chips, and donuts. It's not your typical donut shop... It's the kind of donut shop where smokers are crowded in the front parking lot and druggies are shooting up in the back. It is open 24/7 so a lot of their…

Confession: ever since I started a calorie restricted diet, I am starting to notice that several diet snacks such as ice cream with artificial sweetener, baked potato chips, 100 calorie snack packs, etc are creeping into my diet... I also do not often eat lunch and am eating a lot of these snacks, when I know a healthy…

I keep cravings at bay by having low calorie snacks available. Skinny Cow ice cream, mini bags of baked chips and pretzels, 100-calorie snack packs, apples, oranges, bananas...a piece of fruit always does the trick.

I am worried about this too. Thing is, I had to miss my appointment for my blood test because of a debilitating sunburn. After I heal up, I am going to get it done. This will be my first blood test since I was diagnosed with the disorder and I really hope that the possibility that I am not on an adequate dosage yet will…

You're probably gaining muscle, which weighs twice the amount of fat. More protein + working out = muscle, especially if you doing strength training. It also wouldn't hurt to consume your recommended calories, considering the fact that you work out so much.
