Push ups are the ulitamate way to tone your arms. Don't worry if you find them difficult, I could only do 2 to start with. Try this: http://hundredpushups.com/ I also have taken up pole dancing classes which is great for upper body strength!

when you do the first stretch that you described (one leg behind), push your hands flat against a wall. This will significantly increase the stretch! Or you can stand with your toes on the edge of a step and push your heels down towards the floor.
