  • Completed L3 D1 today and it killed me. I had to revert back to beginner moves for some of the jumps and planks :(((( maybe in a few days I can kick it up a notch as I get used to it again.
  • Hi, Did your doc refer you to a nutritionist/dietitian? I got a lot of help from an RD when I had gestational diabetes. I had to eat a lot of calories because of the baby and keep carbs down! Any lean protein is a good choice. Good amount of calories, no carbs. You should eat your allotted carbs though so you don't go into…
  • Don't try to push for a huge loss in one week because the risk is too high that it'll come back and your dress will be too tight. Your dressmaker has seen it all and can probably advise you on the best option. Also if you're worried about the dress falling down, what about getting that tape they all seem to use in…
  • Haven't been checking in for a few day but I've stayed on schedule! Completed L2D10 this morning and boy am I glad it's done. I can't wait to move on tomorrow. I've only lost 1 inch off my waist and 1/2 inch off my hips so far. We'll see what level 3 does... I am starting to see some shadowy definition in my abs though…
  • Hi there and congrats on your weight loss. No doubt you've worked hard and feel great. And so you should. I've seen similar posts to yours and I think there are a few things going on. I think people are so used to seeing the old, bigger you that a healthier you looks too skinny in their eyes. I also think that your new…
  • I haven't been checking in but I'm still doing my shred. Finished L2 D7 this morning. I was so proud that I managed the full plank jacks. I realized I was just phoning it in with the modified ones. Will try the plank squats (or whatever they're called) tomorrow. My weight loss has been 2 lb so far (lost 2, gained 2, and…
  • Haven't checked in for a few days but I've been doing the shred. Just finished L2 D4. Phew! It's kicking my butt! All those plank exercises are crazy! But I'm seeing my endurance get better.
  • L2 D1 today. Really kicked my butt. I had to take 3 breaks during the various plank exercises. phew! Was quite wibbly wobbly after finishing. But looking forward to getting through this level!!
  • Just finished L1 today and ready to move on to L2 tomorrow. I wonder what lies ahead. I'm still doing the beginner push ups but I've moved on to deeper lunges and higher kicks and jumps. No changes in weight or measurements though!
  • Just did L1 D9 today. Looking forward to finishing level 1 and moving on!
  • I don't know how to make it smaller but if you just click and drag on the picture you can see a smaller version of it. You look fantastic! Nice work!!
  • L1 D8 done. Can't do the push ups either. I actually tried but my shoes just slid along the carpet and I wound up flat on my belly... no traction! Feeling much stronger and having more control. Keep it up shredders!!
  • I've always had that problem. I'm also high waisted so all these low cut styles just kill me! The best fit I've found are Levi's Signature At Waist jeans. They have then at Walmart, about $25. The nice thing is they sort of hold in the tummy and give you a smooth waist (the same size jean in a low cut style will give me a…
  • Completed D7 L1 today. Forgot to check in yesterday but still did the shred! I'm bummed because my right knee is clicking a bit. I just hope it doesn't turn into pain. I want to finish this! My weight has stayed the same (after losing 2 lb, I gained it back) but I'll take measurements once I finish D10 and hopefully see a…
  • If you log it as circuit training, general, it's pretty close. I don't have an arm band either and that's how I log it.
  • L1 D5 done and its getting easier. I'm almost kicking my butt in the butt kicks. Half way thru level 1! Can't wait to check my measurements on day 10. I feel like I'm in school cramming for midterms...
  • hmmm, I'm not sure how to resize the photo. Maybe there's an option in photobucket. Are those beignets homemade?
  • the "img" should be lower case to show the photo. Looks yummy!!!
  • Structure both their and your meal and snack times so no one eats all day long. Also stock up on healthy nibbles and maybe even measure out 100 cal portions into baggies. That way if you do grab something, it's within reason. You can also try to tell yourself you won't snack, if you're not hungry put it down. It's tough at…
  • In level 1 there's a move where you lay on your back and lift the weights up above your chest and then down spreading your arms out, making a T (if that makes sense). I do this with my feet up on the couch because of the limited space. There's also a beginner crunch where one arm is out, perpendicular to your body. I bend…
  • I have a 3ft x8ft space in my living room and do the workout while baby naps. So the jumping doesn't bother him and though it's a bit cramped I manage OK (still on level 1, not sure what the other levels will bring). it's also such a quick workout and you only jump for short intervals, I doubt anyone will complain. I'm…
  • I made this for dinner tonight and accidentally doubled the milk when making 4 servings. Silly me! I thought the topping was a bit runny as I poured it over but didn't question it until it was a gooey mess 20 minutes into cooking. I upped the heat to 400 and kept it in for 15 minutes longer and though the topping and…
  • Thanks. I'm 5'7" and weigh 157 (actually went down 2 lb since starting the shred 4 days ago- but could be water too so I'm not getting too excited yet). Anyway, MFP says 220-something calories burned, so I guess given your HRM results it's close. Good to know :)
  • There are a couple of calf stretches you can do. 1) stand facing a wall and move one foot back. bend the knee of your front leg and press the heel of the back leg to the floor, while leaning into the wall. You should feel the stretch in your calf. Play around with how far apart your legs should be for maximum stretch or…
  • L1 D3 done! I'm definitely feeling the burn but I'm going to power thru! Has anyone compared HRM calories burned to what MFP says for circuit training? Just wondering how accurate it is since I don't have an HRM.
  • See, this is exactly why I never do exercise tapes for more than a few days. After hearing the same corny jokes and music for the 3rd or 4th time, I'm so over it! L1D2 completed this morning and I am going to push myself to keep going! Funny enough it's my knees that hurt and my tailbone from the ab workout (and that is…
  • I've always found canned pumpkin year round (used to give it to my kitty for fiber...). Not always in the baking aisle. Sometimes in the canned goods. Sometimes where the apple sauce etc are. Sometimes in the sale aisle. This recipe looks SO good. Have to try it. I usually just put a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice in my…
  • Sounds like it had gone off. It shouldn't have that flavor or taste. I recently opened an unexpired tub that was the same. The foil cover was popped up like there was a lot of pressure (gas) inside. Give it another go if you can get over the first experience.
  • Me too! Just started 30DS after 2 months on the elliptical. Today I even managed to get on the elliptical after doing my workout! Keep it up!
  • The lighter you are, the less calories you burn. MFP lowers your burn for each pound lost that you register. So if you are 5 lb lighter than your HRM thinks, you are not getting an accurate reading.
