I love my long hair. I actually had about 8 inches cut off this summer and wish I hadn't. My hubby likes my long hair but even if he didn't I would choose my hair style/cut based on what I like. I'm the one that deals with it every single day. My hubby is bald. Bald is (most of the time) sexy.

I never understood why anyone cares at all what another person chooses as their profile pic. I put up a picture of myself because i have no shame in showing who I really am. I choose to not have some random picture/cartoon/etc because I am proud of my hard work and feel like i look good enough to show my face/body/self.

If my hubby finds them disgusting he hasn't said anything. I sure as heck hope he doesn't either because stretch marks sure beat the alternative.

I get some cold weather running gear, lace up and get my butt out there and run anyway. No excuses, just do it! Embrace the weather... find just one thing positive about it. GO do!

haha Yes, this. It could definitely be a problem! My only issue is that I am married and have had men at the gym approach me... grrr. It'd be all fine and awesome if I was single. oOh well.

that I am getting old.. or that I am a boring mom. ha!

I'm 5'3 and will likely never have a 24 inch waist. And honestly, I don't believe that I want one that tiny. The perfect measurement is the one YOU are happiest in.

You definitely have time to build up to the distance you need to run a Dec 3rd half marathon. That's 6 weeks to build up to that distance. If you add one to a mile and a half a week to your long run you should be good to go.

For me it just depends... IF I go to bed early and get a substantial amount of sleep I have no problem getting up at 5:15 and making a 6am class. I can function through the day and even make it back to the gym that evening. However, if I am in bed late and get very little sleep there is NO way I can function even not…

40 degree temps I just run in my capri tights and a light weight long sleeve top (UA or Nike dry fit). I don't start wearing longer tights or layers until it dips into the 30s and then I will do a tee with a l/s running jacket over or arm sleeves and ear warmers/gloves. It really just depends on how long I am running, what…

It is possible that you DO have more fat than muscle. I was there once. But because I work out, run and eat a relatively healthy diet I have successfully lost 70 lbs. I have also reduced my body fat and gained more lean muscle mass so that now my body is more lean muscle than fat. Yet, I weigh far less. So, a pound is a…

First off, you trained.. you will do great!! Good luck! I started with my "carb" load on Thursday. I didn't really load up a ton but I had baked potato, chicken or a pasta dish (whole wheat) and protein the 2 days or so prior to my race. Did it help? I honestly don't know but my main goal was to eat foods that I knew would…

We are going as Batman and Batgirl. Simple though. I'm just using iron on appliques for our shirts. For mine I will be adding a cape but I have not talked my hubby into a cape for himself. I also have a belt for mine, his belt will have to be his fuelbelt! lol I may or may not pick up a "mask" of sorts for myself! Just…

Clean and overhead press.

Add a little incline too! I do this type of workout at least 1-2 times per week. I don't know about the total extra calories burned but speed intervals have helped my overall running pace and that's a good thing!

Congrats Urban and Kate on your great half finishes!!! Way to go! Less than 2 weeks until my next half. I did more cross training and strength work than I did running. I am still on track for making my mileage goal for the year but kind of dread the coming cold weather months. haha The hubby and I have "costumes" planned…

My first half I didn't take anything for afterwards. They provide chocolate milk, food, etc. My second half I had hubby carry a bag (since he wasn't running it with me) and it had my flip flops and a change of clothes.

Couch to 5k graduate turned half marathoner here. Keep up the great work guys!

My goal was 1000 miles for the year so I have been aiming for 80-100 per month. Some months I go over 100 depending on training.

I think I have best runs for many reasons too. I can recall the first time I ran for over a mile nonstop. That day that particular run was my "best" run. Then there was the run where i completed double digits. THAT was also a best run moment. And then there was the first half marathon finish line I crossed. Hello, best…

Since becoming a distance runner my toes are totally different than they've ever been. My big toe nails turn white, lift from the nail bed and I constantly have to cut them back to avoid losing them all together. My second toenails are a total mess...they turned blackish before they started feeling like a different…

What is your current base mileage? You definitely have enough time to train between now and then! Pick a training plan and stick with it! Good luck.

Yesterday I ran my first time since the half Sunday. I ran just a little over 5k on the treadmill at 2% incline (I suggest doing this if you run the treadmill!!). I felt pretty good and strong. Just a slight irritation in my right knee, which started towards the end of my race on Sunday. I'm keeping an eye on it and it…

I grab chocolate milk as soon as I cross the finish line! After my half marathon on Sunday I had a spinach/feta omelet! But my ultimate treat....I always always have a cupcake after a race.
-
Good luck! I just ran my 2nd half marathon this past Sunday.

5'7 because being a shorty at 5'2-3 isn't all that...

only in my own skin...unless I'm at the dr or the gym.
