That's why I like the keurig. My boss has one here at work and I make my own coffee. There is still the general public coffee that tastes like battery acid, but I'm spoiled and I'm not afraid to show it.

This is an excellent idea! I, however, can eat rice with chop sticks fairly impressively, so this wouldn't work for me, but ooooooohhhhh!!!! I should totally make my 7 year old eat cookies like this!!!

I love this post. I have a personal trainer that is fabulous and who is teaching me a ton about weight lifting. This is helping me understand food a bit better, so thank you!!

I was told I was fat by my sister and mother in my youth and that only led to secret eating and gaining more weight. Definitely not the way to go. In my early 20's I used the "I'm just big boned" argument...and that was a lie. Honestly, if society were to pick up on shaming (bullying) fat people, I believe there would be a…

Welcome Rosee! I was on that same path. I have a good long way to go myself, but I am finally doing it. I am finally starting to feel less hateful towards my body and that makes it easy to take proper care of it. I have a trainer that did my measurements (body and body fat...yuck) and I started out at 290 lbs and they want…

I've been bad about keeping up with posting, but I have been moving, which is more important! I will be hitting my 50 miles by the end of this week! *edited to say that I am looking at everyone's totals and so excited to see those numbers climb!!!*

^ This. I Have found ways to convince myself that I can't go to the gym, but it is so much easier to make excuses than to take action.

Sand Volleyball is my vice when it isn't freezing outside!

Wow. And this. I eat until I am satisfied, not full. If I eat until I am full, I feel like junk. If that means I eat some of my exercise calories back, then so be it. If I don't properly fuel my body (with good and healthy food), then I feel like crap. Same goes with underfueling. I feel like crap. Starvation mode will…

Just getting into lifting...as I type this my legs are reminding me of my workout yesterday...and I get this long lasting burst of energy after lifting. I kinda dig it, however going to the bathroom tomorrow is going to suck. I get the worst DOMs the second day. :ohwell:

I am 5'9" and my trainer has my UGW set at 190 lbs. I'm not a small framed person and even with not lifting for six months I can bench 90 lbs. I'm strong and curvy and finally learned to love that about me.

One does not simply open a door two days after an arm work out. Ouch.

67 calories in my coffee and water for the rest of the day, and I eat 2000 calories a day, and more if it is a heavy burn day at the gym...or lifting weights.

I got off work early today and was considering doing a half marathon on the elliptical, however I didn't have time. I ended up doing a little over a 10k. :) And now I'm just over half way there!!! YIPPEEE!!!

I LOVE your pic! And it doesn't have to be pretty! It just has to get done! Totally the story of my life.

If you walk outside, you can use MapMyRun.com to figure it out. :)

That actually does make sense. Any dietary change freaks your body out. Fruits and vegetables have a lot of natural sugars and fiber in them. Since you aren't use to eating them, your body will initially produce an excess of gas and make life REALLY uncomfortable for a few days. As someone else suggested, take beano or…

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!! That made me giggle! I am one of those New Years Resolutions, however I have had success in the past (two years ago) for the wrong reasons. This last year I quit smoking and went on a spiritual journey that brought me to now where I am actually using the gym membership I am paying for. I know how to…

Let me see if I can get this right

1.5.13 - 2 miles (elliptical), 1 mile (walking the mall) 8.5/50!
-
1.4.13 - 5.5 miles (elliptical) :)

Hearing people eat and drink (sometimes even I bother myself - lol),

Not that this is a popular topic (or rather, I'd rather not get hate mail for posting about my beliefs - I'm not trying to convert anyone), but I quit on my son's 6th birthday through prayer and fasting. It was still hard, but it was because I had my mind set on smoking as being a reward. Since I didn't smoke inside with…

I love this.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Thank you for this. This made me giggle.

I don't have that problem. Mostly body...and my smile. Taken with my cell phone in a fitting room.

I haven't read everyone's responses, however, I can speak from experience on this: My mom was a yeller. That is how I started my parenting when my son started getting to the point of driving me bonkers. What changed my heart was one day, when I called his name (he was about 2 at the time), just to tell him I loved him, he…

Ooh...I like this!! Thank you!!!

Whenever I don't get enough sleep, I ALWAYS substitute food for sleep. The body either wants rest to gain more energy or food to continue producing energy. While you may not have LIKED the way it was originally said, it was also my first thought: Go to bed. Is there a reason you HAVE to be up that late? For that matter,…
