I am 31 and feel a lot better about where I am in my life NOW than I ever did in my 20's. Frankly, I thought the 30's were going to kill me, but I have to look at it this way: My son is in Kindergarten. I have an amazing career I am solid in my faith I have a good car I have friends that love me for who I really am I…

Right now, after losing 27 lbs, people take notice a LOT that I have lost weight. I am down 2 sizes (not sure how, but I'm letting my body do it's thing), and I am wearing more attractive clothing. It has taken me from July 20th through today to lose this weight. You cannot expect to see drastic results with 6 lbs. People…

That's awesome!!! I look forward to the day my sister verbally affirms me in a positive tone for my weight loss!

Honey, hire yourself some movers and watch boys do the work. That's the way I have done it for 3 years now and I will never move myself again.
-
Awww! Thank you!! :flowerforyou: :blushing:

The number on the scale may not always move, but I would recommend you measuring yourself. Having a 15 lb loss in two weeks is awesome, but not sustainable. Your body was shocked into losing the weight and now it has figured out your game. Measure yourself. Make sure you are eating enough (eating less does not always mean…

LMAO - Can I just say that I love your profile picture??? Yoga pose...and a glass of wine. And what you said ^. All of that together makes me giggle.

I read your profile and a quote from "Fat Head" (an awesome documentary on Netflix instant - something you should probably watch if you get the opportunity) and this quote came to my mind: If your diet is not sustainable for the rest of your life, it is pointless. I can't see your diary, but you mentioned two things: 1 -…

Crazy. I've lost a cross between an average 2 year old and the amount of cheese the typical American eats in a year.. Sick fascination looks forward to losing an average American model.

I will have to say from my own experience that, while in the beginning, it will be tough (I have a 5 year old little man myself), this is what I have kept in mind: First and foremost, I am the mom, he is my child. If he doesn't like what I fix, he can go hungry. Trust me, the kid is not starving. He's 5 years old, 47"…

Even if I had a bangin' body, I wouldn't dress in something I wouldn't wear to church. Too many people think Halloween gives them leave to wear next to nothing. I'm going to go with what I wear every year - comfy jeans and a hoodie while I watch my 5 yo trick or treat.

^ That. You can't expect a car to move without fuel, don't expect your body to move without food. Eat something. If you can't seem to eat anything that is high in calories enough to get over 1400 a day, try dried fruits and nuts. That will for sure get you there.

This totally just made me get up and go eat a sandwich on a big, fat fluffy bolillo roll. It was good. Bread and all.

Right now I'm set to sedentary and my calories are around 1900 per day. I am not exercising because I have tendinitis and bone spurs in my knee. You know what? I'm still losing weight. Keeping under your normal calories (I can't do anything under 1500 in a day without my body wanting to eat everything in sight the…

And running faster and sucking in your stomach when you see a cute guy running or biking near you.

***Raising hand*** I refuse to pay to watch TV. We are a dvd kind of family. And Hulu. Freeeeee!

I volunteer at church in logistics for PreK. I love my prek people. It's like a mini counselling session every Sunday, always ending up in prayer and a push to lean on God. I love it! I used to volunteer a lot more, but since my son started Kindergarten, it makes it a lot more difficult. I have fed the disadvantaged in…

Well, since staring this weight loss journey....I have lost a cup size....so I'm stuck in the "almost ti ts" area of life.

AMEN!!!!

The only game I ever play is "I win!" and I never lose. :smokin:
-
If you are just starting out on your journey, I would say that you are pushing yourself too hard. I did this and ended up injuring my knee - tendinitis and bone spurs. You do not want to be in this position as it makes life rather difficult (I look like an old woman when I walk...and I'm 31). Start by doing 15 minutes of…

That has happened to me a lot. When I was a kid, I would pass out after getting any kind of shot or blood work. I have always had low blood pressure, which you might think is better than high, but dizziness is something that occurs a lot. I find that eating something substantial like a steak 12 hours before giving is…

I started practicing yoga (off and on) from the age of 13. I LOVE how it makes me feel. When I got pregnant with my son about six years ago, I continued to do yoga and it helped me maintain flexibility. I can't remember which prenatal yoga I used, but almost any of the ones you find now will be good. Whatever you do,…

I don't have that issue, but have you considered yoga? Hulu is free and they have TONS of great yoga workouts available. Also youtube is a great source for exercise/stretching videos. I hope you feel better soon!

"Brandy..Don't worry about it. I have thicker skin than most. Everybody has bad days. Thanks for the txt. Hope your knee feels better." In response to me telling one of my IT guys I'm sorry for snapping at him after he stood in my office doorway WHISTLING. Unprofessional much? Why does he think I have my headphones on? I…

That ^ - I'm 5'9" and Old Navy (even in store) usually carries yoga pants that are long enough for me (and I have a great dislike for pants that don't reach my heel, so I totally understand your pain). If you look on Old Navy's website, they also carry tall sizes on there for no extra cost. I also find that I prefer the…

I tend to eat most of my calories in the evenings, especially if I have a super busy day at work. I have still lost weight. I have recently attempted to balance my meals a bit better, and it's sorta' worked, but I haven't seen any major changes because of it. As for nuts, as long as you are w/i calories, you should be…

Oooh! I'll have to try this!!

Made this tonight and it is awesome! Adjust to taste, but my 5 yo son asked for seconds (not something that occurs often that doesn't have 10 lbs of cheese in it) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/341420-awesome-chicken-casserole-corn-black-beans-brown-rice
-
This isn't done in the crock pot completely. I threw in a few pounds of chicken with garlic and onions and cooked it all so I have shredded chicken at the ready. I also make a large pot of brown rice and keep other staples to throw stuff together on nights I'm not in the mood to cook.…
