This so sounds like me!! Do well for a few days and stick to calories - then overeat for several days and plan how to make up for it - usually by restricting. I have a new book I'm reading that addressed this issue - I'm hoping that reading and re-reading it will eventually help.

Why should you care if someone has a cheat day or not? Some of us only have a few pounds to lose, or are closer to our goal, or whatever! Work on what works for you - and let others do the same.

Demand to have a copy of any blood work you have done, so you can always educate yourself about your numbers. The standard has changed for what is considered "normal" for TSH range. Anything above 3 is considered hypo. My TSH has varied from .92 - 2.0. I have a new general practitioner who is much more concerned about how…

I tend to have a lot more success with Paleo eating when I cut way down or eliminate nuts in the beginning. I can end up eating 500 calories very easily! Also, too much fruit. I try to limit to one piece a day if at all. Perhaps you need to get back to logging all your food and taking a look at your calories. They DO…

You look fabulous! Keep up the great work - you'll be at your goal in no time! :flowerforyou:

Check out the Balanced Bites website and podcasts! The podcasts are new weekly and very informative. There is also a book Diane wrote called Practical Paleo.

Hi! I started today - but I'll join up with you on the 5th if you like. I plan to go for 10 days.....then see how I feel.

It looks perfect to me! And for those who are questioning your choices - some of us have medical issues - be it allergies, intolerances, etc., that prevent us from eating certain things. I can't eat dairy, I need to avoid all nightshades, nuts, and seeds. And, I shouldn't eat too much protein.

I just visited the Ideal Protein website and read some of the info. I'm wondering about the Breakfast and Lunch proteins. Can they be any product from the "Protein packet/meals" you buy from IP? For instance - a shake for breakfast, and a soy patty for lunch - with your veggies? And, are bars allowed as your one "snack"…

If you're looking for a good shake, you might try this one. Compare the ingredients to Shakeology - this one is much cleaner. (and cheaper) http://myvega.com/products/vega-one-shake/features-benefits

I personally try to limit my sugar grams to 18-24. You might find this article helpful. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/02/22/how-sugar-accelerates-aging.aspx

I just had my cholesterol checked last week... Here are my results. Total 179 LDL 83 HDL 86 Tris 48 I've been eating Paleo for about a year now - generally about 80/20. I have been eating low carb though for the last 12 years and generally no grains. I'm 47, btw.

I like the suits at Athleta. The bottoms are fully lined, and the suits are very well made. Check out their sale section, too. Oh - and the suits are true to size. BTW - I'm your age (47) and always wear two-piece.

I would call your vet just to be sure. You would hate to wake in the night with your dog really sick and have to take him to the emergency clinic. As for leaving bacon grease under the sink, that's where my Mum always kept it! LOL It was NEVER refrigerated. Let us know how he's doing!

To echo what another person said - pick up the book "Practical Paleo". She has a whole section dedicated to Fat Loss - with an entire meal plan for 30 days. She tells you what to eat and what to limit or avoid. And her recipes are really good - not too difficult or time consuming. A lot of the foods she has you make in…

Try the Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar with the "mother". I just use this on my salad with a squeeze of lemon. Delish!

I don't eat dairy or soy, and tried to use almond milk for a while, but the guar gums really upset my digestive tract. Hope you have better luck!

Vienna Fingers cookies.

Paleo and Primal are almost the same - Primal allows full fat dairy. (Cheese, full fat yogurt, heavy cream) Start with looking at the Balanced Bites website, Mark's Daily Apple website, and if you're feeling inclined, the book Practical Paleo. Good luck!

Awesome job! You look amazing!

Hmmm.... I think I'm in the category of neat freak - BUT - I am also a minimalist and keep a clutter free home. I don't let magazines and newspapers pile up - I recycle them as soon as I'm done reading. And I don't like lot's of objects out and about. If I"m not using something, I get rid of it - via donation or passing on…

Chipped beef on toast with gravy. (or as it was more commonly called "*kitten* on a shingle" LOL)

Hi! Of all of the squashes and potatoes, it has the fewest carbs.... So I would say go ahead! Carb grams per 100g serving. Yam 27 White Potato 22 Sweet Potato 21 Parsnips 17 Acorn Squash 15 Onion 10 Beet 10 Carrot 10 Butternut Squash 10 Jicama 9 (raw) Kohlrabi 7 Spaghetti Squash 6

I agree with you on the "all or nothing". Sometimes figuring out what to eat after a fast is the toughest part! It's really supposed to help with fat loss, which is where I am right now. When I was running a lot, my body fat was at 19-20%. I want to get back down there, and the best way to do it is eating Paleo and…

I occasionally do this - mostly 16 hour long fasts - from dinner to dinner.

Here is a good recipe for bone broth - you can use marrow bones, chicken, etc. http://balancedbites.com/2011/04/easy-recipe-mineral-rich-bone-broth.html
