  • Back when I was looking for The Quick Fix, I took some green tea fat burner pills. All they did was make my heart feel like it was going to beat out of my chest. Having that "energy boost" did not inspire me to actually get up and exercise, nor did it correct the bad habits I had with food. Eventually, I decided to stop…
  • Honestly? Holiday season has never been a problem for me because the "holiday binge" only happens on two days - Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day; I don't calorie count either day. Both days/evenings are spent at my grandmother's house, where she makes (and keeps) all the food. I never bring any leftovers home, so the…
  • Welcome! You've only been at it a week; give your body some time to adjust. Losing weight via calorie monitoring is not a quick fix.
  • Fridays are my "log nothing and enjoy" days, but honestly, I don't fret too much about it. I can have a burger and fries any day of the week, so long as I'm willing to "budget" for it. That could be eating lower-calorie foods for the rest of the day or exercising a little bit more to try and offset the higher-calorie meal.…
  • I never had cellulite until I got fat. Now I'm worried it won't go away after I lose weight. :(
  • I just got back from the State Fair and denied myself NOTHING. :) One day isn't going to ruin things unless you can't bring yourself back on track afterward.
  • Eh. The way I see it, it's falling on deaf ears. If she wants to live on a carrot and a cracker, that's her body composition she's messing with, not mine. People learn from experience more than lecture.
  • Whatever works for you. I hit the gym on my way home from work, which has been working very well for me. I have a hard enough time getting out of bed for work in the morning as it is - no way am I going to try to pull myself out of bed at 4am. The way I see it, morning, noon, or night, so long as you get your booty moving,…
  • I used to have that problem too. Eventually, it got to the point where I had to take my scale to work and leave it locked away in the storage closet in my office. Now I only weigh myself once a month - the 1st of each month. And the only reason I bother doing that is so I can keep tabs on my BMR. Good luck!
  • It's entirely up to you. For me personally, I really don't care. Sometimes I eat them back, sometimes I don't; it all depends on how I feel. Ultimately, as long as I'm keeping my net caloric intake below maintenance and above 1200, I'm good.
  • Hahaha, that's my goal as well. Whatever size/weight that is, I'll take it! :)
  • Like others have stated, I tackle this by only keeping low-calorie snacks in my office, and not very many of them at that. Typically though, I'm too busy to even think about snacking. I get to working and seeing clients, then before I know it, it's time for lunch. :) Good luck to you!
  • Welcome to the club and congratulations of taking steps toward healthy living! I am a bit new myself - signed up for an account ages ago, but never really used it until the beginning of last month. Feel free to friend me if you'd like!
  • Excellent line of thinking. :) I allow myself a maintenance day every Friday. For me it's a must, especially with this being a lifestyle change. I tried to do without a designated free day in the past and wound up binging harder than a sack of rocks after a couple of weeks. Now, I give myself my one day and have no problem…
  • I'm the same way with the clothes. I've told myself that I refuse to keep buying clothes to accommodate fat, so now I'm stuck with what I've got until I drop several sizes. New clothes must be earned. :) Welcome to the forum! Oh my gosh, same here. It's terrible!
  • WOW! Congrats!! And I'm loving both that dress and those shoes!! I need to know where you and your sister got them. :D
