I'm definitely not winning at life right now! :( But that's why I'm on MFP. Apparently losing a certain percentage of my body weight will fix everything! :D

Thank you everyone for the advice. What is foam rolling?

That's brilliant jdlobb... yeah maybe I should try doing a bit of extra exercise or saving some calories for a treat. I did walk right past McDonald's today and I WAS hungry at the time and tempted to go in but I resisted.. was quite proud! I think it helps to write it down and talk about it actually!

Thank you for the words, you are totally right :)

For me, it's about trying to move on from what has been a very hard time in my life, and generally trying to turn things around. Have had some family issues and relationship break up and it's all to do with starting fresh. :)

Thank you. I think it just aches because my body isn't used to it. Like this morning my legs were killing but once I was at the gym and had got started it eased a little - it felt better whilst I was actually moving. But now I'm home again the aches are back with a vengeance lol! Will push on and listen to my body. Thanks…

I just realised I had my blog set to private! D'oh! It's changed now :) Thanks for the comment kommodevaran. They are really good tips / mottos. Glad it's working for you. I hope I can get there too!

I weigh myself every day. I like seeing the tiny losses each day and my heart leaps if I've gone down a pound or two :) Some people advise not to, but I think it's fine as long as you understand there are gonna be days when it naturally goes up a bit for no reason. I find it quite motivating to weigh myself daily :)

It wasn't one workout - was a couple of different things I did on a particularly active day. You are right though, thank you :)

I'm 28 and looking to lose 28lbs to start.. happy with how it's going so far and hoping I can stick to it! Good luck everyone x

Amazing! Thank you for the safety tip - I will definitely get some advice! :)

I don't usually eat back all of them, unless I'm really hungry or having a bad day. Sometimes I'll eat back 100-200 (I usually burn 400-500 in the gym). Everyone's different but I've been losing weight pretty steadily so what I'm doing works for me :)

My mood is actually better! But, I have only been doing this for around a fortnight. Ask me again in a few weeks! ;)

I'd compliment a friend who had lost weight or toned up if I knew they'd been trying to. Also, I would probably try to talk to a close friend or relative, if I was worried that they had lost or gained an unhealthy amount of weight... but I would be very sensitive about it, and it would be more out of concern for them than…

Hey everyone, 28/f from U.K. Looking for some mutual support and motivation - feel free to add! x

Hi, also looking for more friends on here, feel free to add me! - 28/f from UK! x
-
Thanks all! That should keep me going!!

I get this too, but I guess the thing is, it's not really a reward if it's making you feel guilty or bad. Maybe rewarding ourselves with food is an old habit that we find difficult to break. Maybe you could reward yourself with something you will enjoy guilt-free?

Thanks everyone. I am seeing a personal trainer in the gym next week so will ask them to show me. Certainly don't want to do any damage! I will look at the DVD and resistance bands too :)

Hello I am in the UK (Brighton) and would like more UK friends on here - please add me if you feel like it! :)
-
Thank you all so much for the advice! I have ordered an 8kg one as I think you're right, the smaller weights might not do much and it seemed like a good mid-point to start! Will look into the DVDs/books. Are there any good video workouts on youtube?
-
Thank you! I'll give them a go :) I like to be distracted when I'm exercising!

Hey everyone... I am definitely a bit of a 'serial starter' lol, having started on this site about 4 or 5 different times! But I am totally determined this time! I have lost 13lbs so far using MFP and am so proud although I have a way to go yet! :) If anyone wants some mutual support please add me! xxx

Haha great thread :) I tend to eat what I want so long as it fits in my calories. Some days I go over... but if the general trend is that I'm losing weight and feeling better, then I'm getting what I want. If you are achieving what you want from this then who cares what everyone else thinks? Good luck! x
