  • Feel free to add me, I will be happy to support you.
  • Sometimes I play sports with the kids or go for walks with them, but most of my exercise takes place when they are asleep - early morning run or evening exercise class/DVD/fast walk. Good luck!
  • Welcome and good luck!!
  • I'm not in Durham either but just thought I'd say hello to another UK person! I'm a very amateur runner, just trying to build up my stamina. Good luck with your training programme - hope you find someone in Durham to train with:)
  • Welcome and good luck - you can add me as a friend if you would ike to.
  • I will add you too - the more encouragement the easier it is to stay on track!
  • Hi, I worked out I had 27lbs to lose to get to the top of my healthy weight range. I lost 11lbs before I started MFP and I set my goal as 20lbs because it was a nice round number! I have lost a further 4lbs since then. When I get to my goal, I will evaluate, and work out how much I want to lose after that. I am 5'8" and I…
  • I have the same problem, and it makes me crave carbs in particular, and also to want to eat a lot more frequently. You could try to split your meals into smaller snacks, to eat when you really feel you need to. Complex carbs and protein will keep you feeling satisfied for longer, so try to go for those as much as possible.…
  • Well done for getting yourself back on track and good luck in getting to your goal - use the support on here, it really helps.
  • I've never been to a gym and I'm losing weight (11lbs before joining MFP, as well as the 1lb showing on my ticker!) I go to a class once a week (aerobics) and use DVDS (class and DVDs are both Rosemary Conley, probably just in UK I think.) I run when I can but often I don't have time. So I do stuff with the kids - walks,…
  • I am a mother of 4 and I home educate so they are pretty much always with me. I agree it is difficult but it's possible. I think you need a range of strategies, some will work one day and some another. For me, this is how it works. I sometimes run in the morning before my husband goes to work but only if I have the energy…
  • I have 4 kids and I survive on coffee! I know it's not ideal, but it gets me through the day. I make sure I drink plenty of water as well though, and don't have coffee (except decaff) in the evening. If you can gradually get your little one to go to sleep earlier, by 20-30 mins at a time, that will help obviously, but 3…
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • Welcome. Sounds like you made a good decision to eat real food rather than shakes! Snacking regularly is fine, that would be better than eating 2 sandwiches at lunch - unless you are truly hungry for 2. Try to listen to your appetite. I tend to snack more later in the day - I know some people say you shouldn't eat after a…
  • Welcome!! Plenty of support around here...
  • Well done for taking the first step to sorting this out. The decision and determination to do it is half the battle. I agree professional help would be a good idea. And be gentle on yourself, take it a day at a time, and remember one bad day in itself doesn't matter so much as long as you write it off and move on - don't…
  • Welcome and good luck!
  • Hi, I'm homeschooling too (or home educating as we call it over here!) I have 4 kids, 2 of homeschool age and 2 little ones. Welcome to MFP!
  • Sounds like you are making really good progress already - well done!
  • Collect some friends and encourage each other!

  • Try upping it to 1400 next week, do as much hiking and swimming as you can and enjoy your break. Weigh in when you get back, and adjust if necessary. And your planned new exercise schedule sounds great - I too am a little overawed by what some people on here are doing! I will send you a friend request, so if you want to…
  • Hi, I'm a mum of 4 and I agree it is difficult. I tend to alternate between telling them they have to eat whatever healthy meal I've cooked, which works okay-ish most of the time but leads to a few battles, or doing 2 separate meals which is time-consuming. Ultimately I want them to have a taste for the healthy stuff and…

  • Hi - good luck!
  • Good luck  Sounds like a realistic set of goals - go for it! I'm new to this, but seems like a good support network. Hope it works for you, Hannah

  • Hi, I'm Hannah and I just joined yesterday. Sounds like you are doing really well. I have already been trying to loose weight for nearly a month and I've lost about 11 pounds so far. Looking forward to getting to know people on here, seems like it will really help. Good luck!
