As mentioned above, slow right down!!! The mistake a lot of people make when starting to run outdoors is they trying running non-stop. Like anything you need to train your body to be able to do this and get used to it. When I started I used a programme which is couch to 5km and wow it worked a treat. If you follow this,…

It is completely fine to have the odd bad day every now and then - just remember you are human! :) Brand new day tomorrow :)

These are things that have helped for me: - Resistance training (stability training mostly) - Running (I started with walking, then run/walk then running) - Reduce consumption of high fat content foods like cheese and takeaways. Also avoiding high sodium processed foods - Eating as much clean (non-processed food as…

Absolutely, just up the pace/challenge a bit each week :)

Anyone feel free to add me as all my friends that are on here have not logged on for ages!!

Sorry something I had learnt a long the way and it has worked for me! You learn something every day!

Refer to my comment below but basically treat your body as a machine. If you don't keep it fueled it will just store what it does take to survive - it is a very smart thing!

You don't necessarily have to eat all of your exercise calories but they are there if your body needs them. I find your body will tell you if you need to fuel it. What commonly happens is people will only eat 3 meals a day so if you are having 5-6 hour breaks between meals your body goes into starvation mode and will store…

I would recommend increasing your food intake for the extra calories you are burning with your exercise. Sometimes it can have the reverse effect if you are not eating enough.

How much water do you drink in a day?

I find going for a good walk is great when you have a cold - always make me feel better :)

I find watching my saturated fat and sodium levels works really well. Also add an extra cardio or weights session in each week. You can add the sat fat and sodium into your diary settings too :)

Nichelle, if you aren't already, you will need to add breastfeeding in your food diary - you can add it as a food and it will add 500 calories to your day (exclusive breastfeeding) and 300 calories (if you are mixed feeding). You are probably finding you are not taking in enough calories to compensate what you are burning…

I recommend ensuring you do a good warm up (2 - 4 minutes cardio - eg. Skipping) before you do your weights and then you can lift your heart rate to make your weights work out more effective.

Why do you say that it is "easier said then done"? The great thing is that you are already half way there because you have admitted that you have a problem. Have you got a good friend that you can talk to about this and can support you to speak to someone professionally?

What is your gut telling you?!

Hi! I found this website and I think it just really depends on your frame. If you are a larger frame you never are going to get to the same weight as someone who is a smaller frame (even though you are the same height) http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/met.htm

Let us know how you get on! :)

Persist at it, it does take 2-3 classes to get used to it but once you do you will never look back (well that is my opinion anyway). Once you get used to it you will find you will burn more calories as you will get a lot faster! :) It becomes very addictive!!!

I think slow and steady is the best way. It is only natural for us to want to have a quick fix but as you have already experienced it doesn't really work! I think a maximum of 1 pound a week weight loss is healthy. I have found that it is really important to always eat the amount of calories that you are allocated, not…

I find eating a punnet of yoghurt and a handful of unsalted nuts a great snack. Try also adding avocado (if you like it) to your salads or sandwiches

You are doing so well! Just keep going and see yourself at your goal weight!!
