Hey, I have 50-60 lbs to lose and would like to join the group username- musicvixen24

But who wants to lose 18lbs of water weight unless this is for a contest, or you are being weighed on a stage, by a MD. If it's 18lbs to fit into another size. Perhaps. I have lost 5 lbs of water weight and was still unable to close a pair of pants. I mean anything is possible if you are truly dedicated. But like someone…

I get what you are saying and you should eat back some cals, but there are SO many factors involved!! Maybe try 2800 for 2-3 more weeks and see how you feel and if you are losing weight. If not reassess, but you were definitely undereating before, so I think if you eat more for a bit, you should see a change. I used this…

But aren't you doing yourself a disservice by doing that? Congrats on your weight loss, but if someone was lecturing me on my diary, I would just delete them if they were a friend. If they weren't, I would not make my diary viewable. I like knowing what I ate, macronutrient breakdown, etc. And your comment on ppl not…

I have a desk job as well. Maybe you can eat lunch brought from home and then go outside. But at least you are thinking about losing weight. That's the first step. If you find yourself slipping a lot, make even smaller changes. Also, you don't have to have all the willpower and determination now, you will get it. You just…

I don't see how it can be done in a healthy way without drastically cutting your food. Plus if you returned to your regular eating habits, you MAY gain it all back

I personally don't, and wouldn't recommend, using the MFP calorie goals because it make it too low and then having to eat back calories. Many ppl use the TDEE calculator, inputting how many times they exercise and go based on that. After losing a few pounds they readjust. I also don't eat back cals, because I find the…

I wouldn't focus on a specific number, but just make sustainable changes so you are able to not binge, or quit the plan. I have found that having goals like that are counterproductive and I don't usually follow through. What works for me is having gym goals, or food tracking goals. Plus, you may think you look great after…

Maybe look at the kind of foods you are eating, ex: processed versus unprocessed. How did you lose weight before, are you doing the same things? Sometimes that is a good place to start.

It is hard, but it's what needs to be done, because it puts the power in other people's hands. You know what you are doing and that you are doing an amazing job. That has got to be enough. Plus that fact that your biggest fan is supporting you, is awesome. Keep up the great work.

I think this is the key. Slip ups will happen, but the faster one recovers the better it is. You look amazing. Congrats on all your success and perseverance!!

I love this podcast as well. This one and fat to fit have A LOT of great info and I find that listening to it on my way home helps to deter unplanned stops at the store

WTG! My one issue with 30DS was doing it everyday. Did you do it every other day and when did you when you should move to the next level, was it just after 10 workouts at the level. Your results are truly inspiring!

I noticed that too... but some things you need to just let slide to avoid the rage

Or have a glass of wine to celebrate an exercise session, lol. I focus on total as well but mainly because I have no idea where those estimates come from with the calories burned. I'd rather not eat them back because I could be eating more than I really burned.

Uh me too. I was losing weight BEFORE I joined MFP and became so calorie focused. I think that it's all about consistency with whatever you chose and monitor for change. My TDEE - 20% is below my BMR, so I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing lol...! I guess I am doing TDEE -15 and exercising to make up the…

I find eating healthy is cheaper. It's the healthy premade dishes that are expensive. If you go from eating prepackaged foods to eating prepackaged Kashi meals, then yeah it is more expensive. But if you switch to produce (which often goes on sale), beans, grains, meat on sale it has got to be cheaper. When I buy processed…

It is all about measuring and tracking the calories, as with any other thing you put in your body. I try to stick to 4 oz of wine and I mix it with 8oz seltzer and when I am feeling fancy, a slice of lime. I nurse that throughout the evening. Sometimes I don't even finish it. Studies have shown that women that drink…

I'm not sure what the point of this would be. Someone suggested that I drink 1-2 glasses of water prior to a meal, but my calories are planned out so if I did that I'd be undereating. I could try that for a dessert, maybe while eating a cookie, but I would finish the cookie and just be bloated. Cottage cheese, maybe after…

For my oatmeal brand, 1/2 cup of oatmeal is 48 grams...but I agree that weighing foods has really changed my approach and depending on the food, like PB, you are doing a disservice by not weighing it, lol. I think it probably has to do with density and if one is packing the cups or spoons, but the scale takes all that…

Your diet needs to be more balanced. You should add fruits and veggies to be healthier but also the fiber, vitamins etc helps. Your body uses energy digesting these foods so you aren't wasting calories. You may lose weight eating the way you are, but that isn't sustainable AT ALL. I've been there trying to cut calories,…

Of course there is more to it. But it IS about calories in/out. White rice is a nutritionally stripped food but if included in a proper diet, it won't necessarily ruin it. Same with the candy bar. I like white rice better than brown so I order it if I go out, but in my house it's brown. Balance

Awesome tips that I will write down. I have been having the same problem where I am only averaging 5 hrs/day. It affects my alertness and my mood, so I will try to implement some of these

omg! How about Antonio Sabato Jr?? I would pamper myself. Massage, scrub, mani pedi and facial. I am so frugal most of the time planning for a move, I would spend on things that I deem superfluous due to cheapness. Like the new bra sounds awesome as well.

That is a helpful strategy for me and bingeing. Seems like common sense, but some foods, don't trigger, but others (mostly processed) will cause a binge. I try not to even stock it.

http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ Here you go. They start you at 20% calorie reduction, but that put me under my BMR so I had to lower how much calories I cut from my diet t 15% and am now committed to make up the difference with exercise. You aren't supposed to eat below your BMR

2 lbs is really aggressive. I think if you lowered it to .5 or even 1 it would give you higher calories. I'm ranging from 1500-1800, 5'2. I started out following MFP while eating back exercise calories but it's better to do your own thing and not to eat back exercise calories. The amounts they give are estimates and could…

Not really. I rarely eat out and when I do, it's with family and close friends and it's normally my cheat meal of the week. No one comments on my intake because I relax at that meal. At work, ppl roll their eyes when they ask if I am ordering crap and I say, no I brought the same dish as yesterday. But 1) F'em and 2) they…

I think it's a great thing. i think that being off isn't bad either. But does anyone think that it may indicate some sort of disconnect or even mild body dysmorphia?
