Increase your salt. Start using Morton's Lite Salt, it is high in potassium and magnesium. You need both and you lose both quite rapidly on low carb.

First, do your research and know what your numbers mean. Is it the total cholesterol that is high? What are you triglycerides? Your HDL? I can't control my blood sugar when I eat any grain foods so they are out and after a year, I don't miss them. You can still be low carb and eat grains. I just don't do it.

When you reduce your carbs you will replace them with either fat or protein. I would suggest you aim for high fat, moderate protein and low carbs.

Since I am a T2 diabetic I still keep my carbs very low. I aim for 20g or lower a day but I sometimes go over that when I'm eating nuts or berries. I am pretty strict, no sugar and no grains at all. I will look for the Daily Low Carbers thread. Thanks.
