I think it's fine if you're doing cardio. I have heard that it can be beneficial (though I won't quote anything being that I don't remember). If it's strength I would eat first, but that's just me.

Kale chips! I also like Pretzel Crisps. They aren't the best for you, but they aren't bad at all. Also nuts or trail mixes. I also like yogurt as a snack. Or try freezing bananas and then blending them (peel and all) and it makes ice cream!! You can make smoothies or protein shakes too.
