  • I don't let it get soggy! I pour 2tbsp into my yogurt, stir and eat right away. I like it when it's still crunchy. I'm friendly with the couple who make Holy Crap, and work for the company who supplies them with their ingredients. I have 6 bags in my pantry right now! Yum yum!
  • I completed C25K in September. Previously, I never ever ran. I used to joke that a bear would have to be chasing me, for anyone to see me run. I went from couch potato, to running 5k, at least 3x per week. 2 weeks ago, I started Bridge to 10k. I mildly sprained my ankle 9 days ago, so I was hobbled for a while. Got back to…
  • I bought mine at The Running Room. (Polar FT7) It was freaking expensive compared to what they seem to get from Amazon, but it was worth it, and I considered it a reward for my hard work to that point.
  • I'm curious too. I wear my Polar for the entire time I'm in the gym. I start out with 35-45 minutes of cardio, then head for the weights, and go hard for another 30-45 minutes. I wonder if I should lower my polar number when I log it here...
  • Adding this to my topics so I can make it soon! Looks yummy!
  • People just have to look at your ticker, (which you put there) to see your success thus far....
  • I'm definitely not worried about getting bulky! My legs are already taking on some crazy definition, and I want to keep at it! Anyone else?
  • Hi, I turned 40 in October, and I've been slacking lately. I'm determined to get back tracking my food, and get to the gym, or out for a run 5x a week. Happy to motivate, and be motivated. :-)

  • I'm slowly working up my weights, but I'm still too chicken to go into the free weight section, so right now I do a seated leg press on this machine... http://www.lifefitness.com/commercial/lfstrength/SignatureSeriesSingleStations/lowerbody/seatedlegpress.html I'm at 135 lbs right now, up from 100 a few weeks ago. Slow and…
  • I finished the C25K in September, but haven't done a 5k race yet. I tend to jog at 6.2mph on the treadmill. I haven't run outside in about 2 months, so I'm not sure what my outside speed is anymore.
  • I bought a super expensive Withings scale, and I kick myself all the time. I've lost 16 pounds, and that scale STILL tells me that my BF% is 33.5 - 34.6%. I'm 5'8, and now weigh 153. I strength train, and work out often. With the link shown earlier, it tells me my BF% is 27.9%. I'm sure I probably was 33% when I started,…

  • She wants wicked arms. Just without the muscle!
  • I have another 10 pounds to go, and have lost 15 so far. I'd be happy to have more pals to motivate back and forth! :-)
  • I run 2 or 3 times a week, and do the elliptical or stationary bike on 2 other days a week. I also do 30-45 minutes of strength training after all my cardio. I really think its mental, and I can't get past it. LOL... Frustrating! I just started running/jogging at the end of July doing the C25K program. And yeah, music is a…
  • I put my dinner on a side plate instead of a dinner plate. Looks like a full plate, but I eat less because it's a smaller serving.
  • I bought a copy of the book "New Rules of Lifting for Women", and I'm slowing incorporating different exercises into my routine. You should lift fairly heavy, there is no point in lifting the 5lb weights. Concentrate on your form, and get that down pat then work to heavier weights. Grab a copy of the book if you can. It…
  • Where in Canada are you? I work for an organic bulk food distributor and we sell chia across most of Western Canada. Also, If you can find a cereal called "Holy Crap" it's main ingredient is chia and is some great stuff!
  • Trolls are not to be fed.
  • Making friends in every thread you visit! :-)
  • Wait, what??? You said you strength train, but then later you said you don't. Which is it? You lift 2lb weights and call it what?
  • 2lbs a week is really only for people who have a lot to lose. If you are close to goal, you should aim for .5lb - 1lb per week.
  • Omg, I don't belong in this thread! LOL! I just started "running" in July, and it's a slow process for me. It takes me about 31-32 minutes to do 5k. I did some speed intervals on the treadmill tonight, and was doing 6.8mph during my bursts. My heart rate gets up into the 173+ so I have to slow down. I dont think being…
  • I go to Trevor Linden Fitness. It's $20 per month for my "elite" membership, which includes tanning, and discounts on all retail items, and is a pretty decent gym. It's very bare bones, no pool, sauna, child minding, or anything of the sort, but it has a separate ladies section, and more than enough cardio equipment. The…
  • In case no one has mentioned it, C25K! LOL! It really does work. I started it in July, finished in September, and I run/jog 5K a few times a week, and I've lost almost 15 pounds. Good luck!!!
  • I had the same experience. What worked for me was to STICK WITH THE PLAN, and just keep going. I'm now 3 months out from my start date, and I'm down 14 pounds. I lost NOTHING in the first 4 weeks. And, when you think you can't drink another sip of water, have another sip of water! :-)
  • That happened to me out of the blue on my iPhone a while ago. I was crushed, but I just left it and carried on with the program. I know how you feel. I really liked having my progress charted so I could see how I had been improving. I hope you get it all back.
  • The butt can be saved with leg/glute work, squats, lunges etc. Boobs, not so much. I've lost 2 inches off my bust, and I think if I get down to my goal weight, my hubby will be bitterly disappointed!
  • I am 1 run away from graduating the program! WOOT! When I started, I thought I'd die before the 1 minute run was over. Now I'm running 5k every time I go out for a run. It has really helped get my weight loss going, and my legs are looking awesome! You can do it!
