I switched to decaf a few years ago and found my energy levels even out for the first time in year. I sleep solidly and now feel refreshed. I don't drink much decaf either, instead I mainly drink water. None of this appears to have had an effect on my weight, but I'm certainly happy I did it.

Wow, quite a journey and awesome results!

Yes, I did C25k when I was about 240lbs (I was 38 at the time). I don't see why you can't have a go.

I consider running to be the biggest cause of my weight loss, it's a great cardio workout and I'm getting to enjoy it quite a lot.

MFP is a tool I discovered which made me count calories and think about exercise. I only started to lose the pounds when I started using the mobile app, and now I'm nearly at my goal. I'm likely to continue to use it to help work out how much food/exercise will help me maintain my weight once I get there.

I started over 100kg and did the C25k on a treadmill. I did it three times a week, and slowed down if I struggled. If I struggled a lot I sometimes repeated a week, so it took me more than the 9 weeks in the plan. Some weeks were a lot harder than others, but you've got to stick with it for it to work. Once I'd completed…

I'm 5'7 and I'm aiming for 155-160lbs. I started at 230 and I'm now down to 176. My aim is simply to get to a BMI of normal.

To start with I thought my friends were just being nice and trying to encourage me, but looking back I certainly think they saw my shape change well before I did.

I struggled to visually see any difference in myself for ages even though a lot of friends said the could easily see a difference. I think seeing a difference in yourself is hard, but it does happen eventually. The weight is going it's just not easy for you to see.

109 days, using the mobile app every day to record weight and calories.

I've completed c25k and I found that some weeks I was struggling so I slowed down until I could complete the session. Since getting to be able to run 5k I've slowly increased my speed. I think it's fine to slow down as you'll be building your stamina, and you can always speed up a little at a time as you get fitter.

The chest strap one will constantly monitor your heart rate by detecting electrical impulses on your chest when your heart beats, and the other one will detect those same impulses in your fingers when you touch it. I think the chest strap one will be more accurate because it will monitor your heart rate the whole time…

I've got some cheap digital scales and I've found that the value can vary by 0.5kg depending on if I lean forward or back. It appears to have sensors in it's four feet and it probably averages the readings from all of them, so I think the ones at the front are more sensitive than the ones at the back. To get a good reading…

I'll second the couch to 5k programme, it's got me running 5k multiple times a week and when I started I couldn't run for more than a minute.
