  • Gin and tonic or gin and cloudy lemonade!
  • Thanks everyone. Will take a look at some other calorie calculators and see what the average recommendation is and go from there! :)
  • Sweets are okay in moderation - never deny yourself anything, but how about trying a few of these as alternatives? Banana, chopped with one table spoon of peanut butter and half a table spoon of hot chocolate powder (directly on the banana) Sugar free jelly Low calorie/sugar free hot chocolate Protein shake (chocolate,…
  • I've done an ultra marathon, five marathons and a half in the last 18 months so I guess that makes me a runner :)
  • Thank you! I've just got back from the physio who has helped enormous amounts. I feel like I have new legs! Managed 10km today, so hoping for a few good runs this week and we'll see how we get on! Thanks for the comments and support, I'll check the forums out :)
  • Hey 'newme1313' :) Do you already have a good running base - or are you basically starting from scratch? Basically starting from scratch... I used to run 5-7km 2/3 times a week about 8 months ago but stopped when I started my new job... I would run maybe 5km a week in the last 8 months (if that!!) Have you done a marathon…
  • I wear weight gloves and I don't do that much weight lifting... I use them mostly for rowing or I end up with blisters on my hands and for kettle bell swings to keep my grip... Why on earth do people get annoyed by something so petty? Are they on your hands? No. Are you probably just jealous of them? Probably. Why judge…
  • I think that people who use shakes and bars temporarily are likely to gain back some, if not all of the weight they lose. The whole purpose of losing weight should be to change your lifestyle, not diet. You need to learn to make sensible decisions, make time for food etc. and understand what choices are best to make.…
  • I'm 20 years old, work a crap job, spend 4 hours commuting a day and still manage to make all of my own meals, do my own food shopping and go to the gym. There is no reason why you can't do it to. I spend no more than £20 on food a week - just go for the cheap 'savers' options. :)
  • I think MFP is way way way out. It sometimes gives me double/triple estimates of the treadmill and when I was using a HRM even up to three times of that. So be really cautious of how accurate your burns are. I think that eating healthily and until you are satisfied is fine. If you are doing such huge burns (congrats to you…
  • How are you measuring your burn? Do you use a HRM?
  • I tend to get 'you don't need to lose weight' when I tell people this... it really frustrates me that people, whilst they may be trying to be complimentary, won't take no for an answer. I'm hoping the new company will be a little bit different and more accepting of my choices! Fingers crossed!
  • Congratulations!! How about just walking more? I expect you don't have a great deal of time at the moment. There are some great videos on youtube or order something like the 30 day shred dvd and do that every day (20-27minutes per day) and the results are normally huge! Again, congratulations - enjoy being a mummy :)
  • Make treasure hunts with clues, get the clues making them do star jumps, running up and down etc. Water games are great, water balloons etc. I used to love having 'water fights' when I was a kid! Teach them the old school games, tag, etc. Take them to the park, just climbing up and down slides is great for them! Swimming…
  • The captain of the England rugby squad was in the bar next to my work yesterday. My boss nearly had a fit. I didn't have a bloody clue who the guy was!
  • Vera Wang - Princess (reminds me of my 18th birthday!) More recently i've been wearing Vera Wang - Princess Night. And cheap and cheerful I love the Britney Spears range Midnight Fantasy range !
  • By 'the book' you should eat three meals a day and include two snacks if necessary. Breakfast is a very important meal as it gives your body fuel for the day. If you haven't eaten since 6 the previous evening waiting until 12/1/2 in the afternoon is a long time without food and your body is more likely to hold onto…
  • Why do you need to mention this in job interview? You didn't actually work there so it doesn't need to go on your resume. Is this a large firm? You should contact the Head Office or if they are a small firm the HR department and report this person for his behaviour. THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT. <3
  • Currently a PR executive and sit at a desk fidgeting for most of the day! When meetings are involved I avoid the tubes and do the long walks around London! Soon moving to a PR/Events role... Very excited but going to be on the road a lot more... Hoping all the hotels i'll be staying in will have a gym and I can avoid the…
  • The best thing to do is look at other people's diaries and get some ideas, decide what foods you like that are healthy and work around what fits with your lifestyle. I, for example, work in London which is a 1.5hour commute in the mornings, I leave the house super early so don't get time for a typical breakfast - cereal,…
  • I fidget constantly. I drive my colleagues made with how much I move. As I type i'm kind of wiggling... I bounce my leg constantly. When I go to the bathroom i'll do squats/lunges in the stall. Tighten core muscles constantly. Walk around the office as much as I can. Just try to avoid sitting still! :)
  • I race people who are in the lanes next to me (they don't even know i'm doing it) but whenever i 'win' i have a little victory dance :)
  • There are always the same people I spot in the gym... I always think 'god they're here a lot' but they're only there as much as I am, they must think the same thing :)
  • If i'm hungry I stock up on the low calorie vegetables - tinned carrots are about 26calories for the whole can, brussels, cabbage, broccoli etc. You can pile these foods up with protein like chicken etc. :)
  • Add spinach to salads. If you have curry add spinach, broccoli, sweet potato etc. sweet potato curry is one of my favourites! Roasted vegetables as a side with dinner. Fresh soups. :)
  • The Pretender - Foo Fighters. Gets me THUNDERING when i'm running!
  • All of my pictures are meeee :) Great to keep track of progress!
  • When you want chocolate... get your favourite fruit (works best with strawberries, raspberries or banana!) melt 2/3 squares of chocolate and mix the fruit into this. YUMMMM and cravings = gone!
  • Coco butter really helps. Rub it in once a day and let dry. They do fade - great for scars too!
