I think personal preference. If I have to go to a gym to workout... I'd never get there! LOL My basement exercise room is SO much more convenient, but we are fortunate to have the room and the equipement, along with a TV/DVD player!

Blueberries, sometimes banana with a few finely diced walnuts! I'll actually use just about any fresh fruit I have in the house... apples, peaches, mango, strawberries... yum!
-
I got one of those, too (only in Indy)! I'm looking forward to trying it!

You have all the right things to make this happen - a great attitude, awareness, willingness, goals (just getting the first 20-25 lbs off) ,and knowing it won't always be easy! I, too, had a big issue with portion sizes. Well, that an absolute love of chips. lol I understand about the husband, too. Mine actually complained…

^^ Only way better! :D

OMG.... LOL.... (and so do I)

With Almond Milk... yum and way fewer calories. :^)

I think I can do this! lol Thanks.

You are all awesomely fabulous! I lost almost all my weight before Christmas last year, so not much difference between then and now!

O - M - G Kudos to you, my dear. You are looking FABulous!! Your hard work blows me away.

I worked with a wonderful lady once who didn't try suicide, but was hurting herself (cutting, etc.). Once she got into therapy, it initally became worse, not better. She struggled. She told me that her doctor told her it was like peeling an onion, getting through all the layers of hurt, anger, denial, self-loathing, and…

^^^ This! Short-term, small goals helped me SO much. Also, doing your best every day... not perfection necessarily, but your very BEST on THAT day. Don't let a binge or failure of some kind sideline you. Get up, dust off, and move forward. Best of luck to you!!! :flowerforyou:

String them with popcorn? LOL

So sorry to hear, but your new healthy habits will be an excellent example! I hope all turns out well.

LOL Good for you!! I love bacon, but have relegated it to a "weekends only" status and in moderation even then. Seriously, I could probably eat a whole pound of it. On the bright side, I am picky about it, so it has to be pretty lean (in bacon terms) and crispy!

I always start with a plan and then adapt as needed. A plan will allow you to set up a routine with the right balance of strength and cardio. Also, if you know there's a day when you're short on time or whatever, you can account for it in your plan and be ready to go with a workout planned for that day. It really helps me,…

Amen... especially about the burpees! LOL

ABSOLUTELY!!

1st - Sounds like you may well be lactose intolerant... might switch to soy or almond. I love almond myself. I haven't tried it, but someone told me the Silk Dark Chocolate Almond milk is to die for. 2nd - Unless you are famished, try eating immediately AFTER the workout. You do not want your body to be attempting…

Your diary isn't open, so no one is able to see your daily goals and progress that way. I can tell you that often times people using MFP do not "reset" their daily goals often enough. You should go through the process every 10lbs or so. Your daily caloric needs drop as you lose weight, so you will see your daily goals…

Hey, I've been to and through Bloomington my whole life (I live in Indy and my hometown was a ways south of Bloomington) and I can absolutely tell you for sure that there are PLENTY of people there who are not "thin and beautiful", so stop being so hard on yourself!! That's step 2. You already accomplished step1 by joining…

They look awesome!! I used to have boots and a shoe obsession, but not anymore. I now have arthritis in one of my big toe joints (yeah... I know ... what up with that?) and the last time I tried a boot with a heel on that foot... well, I just about collapsed on the floor from the pain when I put my weight on it! It's so…

YAY for you!!! :drinker:

Well, I don't see this as an issue. You are the parent and it's YOUR home, not his anymore. I think this needs to be made obvious to him. Of course, you don't have to say it "meanly", but ... geesh... I'm sort of surprised he needs to be told at 27. Just say, 'Hon, your Dad and I prefer that you not drop uannounced or when…

My advice. 1) Make sure he will be able to spell it when he starts school. 2) Make sure it's something everyone else will know how to pronounce (it's freakin' awful when teachers, potential bosses, etc. can't get your name right and you have to correct them). 3) Make sure the initials of his name, nicknames, etc. are not…

Excellent job! You look so happy in your "now" picture! :flowerforyou:

I've had so much trouble with this since losing weight! Maybe a trip to Nordstrom's is in order...

I love Silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk, as well, but not for straight out drinking. I can put it on my cereal, use it with protein powder, etc., but don't care to simply drink it. I've also found that occasionally there are things it just doesn't seem to mix well with. My husband prefers Silk light vanilla soy milk. I…

You look GREAT! So, they are just full of it. There are some guys that prefer a little extra on their women, and that's all cool. I'm guessing these were women, though. It is SAD to think they have to shore up their self confidence by hating on you! I just never GOT that. I always tell other women they look good if they…
